this story just got real interesting....Dave Lapham was on, he has an eyewitness to the altercation.
Apparently Levi was playing black jack (Levi lives in vegas by the way in case anyone was wondering what he was doing there) and Joey Porter saw him, came up with 7 others and started talking trash to Levi, Levi basically told him to shut up...not in those words lol....Joey then got in Levi's face....Levi stood up and pancaked Joey right there in the middle of the casino...bascially threw him to the ground, Levi thought it was over....then when he was leaving the casino Joey and his group of 7 men followed him out into the parking lot, jumped him and the 7 threw him down and pinned him to the ground as Joey Porter stood there kicking Levi ...while they had Levi down they stole his jewlery and wallet .....basically mugged Levi.
Yep Joey porter is a class guy, hangs out with a posse and mugs guys in parking lots.....no wonder Levi said he was pressing charges...Joey and his clan should all be in prison

"Joey Porter broke free and ran full sprint at Levi Jones and dove through the air at him like he was trying to tackle Ladanian Tomlinson. Took him down with a tackle, then the two of them got up. They were throwing fists again. It sounded like a 'Rocky' movie."

Benz said Porter later kicked Jones in the head, causing some bleeding.

Benz said the whole incident started when Porter confronted Jones while he was playing poker.

According to a Las Vegas police report, a video confirms that Levi Jones was attacked by a group during Sunday night’s incident at a Palms Casino gaming table.

The report says that the video shows the suspect, Dolphins linebacker Joey Porter, “started the fight with a closed fist,” to Jones’ face and then “several unidentified males punched the victim.”

Porter was cited for misdemeanor battery after Jones was treated for facial cuts in what one source has described as “a brutal attack,” on the Bengals left tackle.

The police report said that according to Jones, Porter approached him while he was gambling “to fight,” and that he and Porter have had words during games.

Police said Friday that the video has been sent to the district attorney’s office and won’t be released until next week.

JONES CALLS PORTER A "COWARD"

In his first comments on a casino cold-cocking that he absorbed earlier this month, Bengals left tackle Levi Jones tells Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com about the incident that resulted in Dolphins linebacker Joey Porter being cited for misdemeanor battery.

"A cowardly assault by a coward," Jones said. "One versus seven, six from behind. The police report came out and told the truth. Joey Porter did not kick Levi Jones' ass. Basically what he did was walk up to me, get my attention talking trash while his boys jumped me from behind. They plotted the thing. He was shooting craps. I was playing blackjack. He saw me, there was no exchange before he just came up on me.

"[W]hen there are six and seven guys with him, he's brave now," Jones said. "Strength in numbers. I guess he felt like the numbers were with him. He's been doing this for years, telling everyone he’s going to do this to me and do that to me."

Still, Jones won't be focused on Porter when the numbers are 11-on-11 during the 2007 season. “[T]rust me," Jones said, "when we play Miami I have a lot bigger problems to worry about than Joey Porter. I'm going against probably the best defensive end in the league in Jason Taylor. I'm not going to be worried about Joey."

I know that since the incident, I've read accounts from Levi himself and he says that Joey is a little punk . He says he saw him recently in Vegas on another occasion and without a gang with him, Joey left the casino imediately when he spotted Levi. This time, while Levi had a lady friend with him and Joey with 6-7 friends, he comes up and starts the fight. It will be fun as the season wears on but already Levi says that he'll be facing the best DE in the NFL in Jason Taylor and he isn't going to worry about something as little as Joey Porter. As someone mentioned, Levi OWNED Porter when Porter played for the Steelers.
