I was talking with a friend of mine and we were discussing who the best QB prospect to come out in the last decade was. That got me thinking who are the best at each postion from 2001-2010. This is my team, remember this is purely prospect status (4-3 defense and 1 TE, 1 FB, 2 WR offense):
Defense
DE: Mario Williams
DT: Gerald McCoy
DT:Ndamukong Suh
DE: Julius Peppers
OLB: AJ Hawk
ILB: Patrick Willis
OLB: DeMarcus ware
CB: Pacman Jones
S: Sean Taylor
S: Eric Berry
CB: DeAngello Hall
Offense
QB: Mike Vick
RB: Adrian Peterson
FB: Brian Leonard
WR1: Andre Johnson
WR2: Calvin Johnson
TE: Kellen Winslow
OT: Joe Thomas
OG: Leonard Davis
OC: Markice Pouncey
OG: Mike Iupati
OT: D'Brickashaw Ferguson

id have vernon davis as the TE, and Haloti Ngata over mccoy....i wasnt a huge mccoy fan but i was infatuated with ngata.
and not having robert gallery on this list is criminal. if i made a list about the best tackle prospects this decade it would look like
1 Robert Gallery
2 the rest of the mortals

leonard davis was drafted as a tackle...id have albert or hutch there as well

Albert was drafted as a tackle too, if it weren't for his ability to play anywhere he wouldn't have gone as high. If you're talking about pure guards its probably going to always be Hutch and Grubbs imo.

i always viewed albert as a guard that could play tackle...davis was a tackle failure forced to move to guard

IIRC, Albert was a guard with the ability to play tackle and started out at guard until he was shifted over. Leonard Davis was a left tackle prospect who was a bust at left tackle and was moved to guard because of his size and strength.

I don't agree that Peterson was the decade's top RB prospect. He had durability questions. Reggie Bush and Darren McFadden were both more highly regarded prospects.

bush maybe even though i thought hed be a better WR, mcfadden no way. he was like my 5th RB that year. definitely thought stewart was a better prospect.
Id go bush, peterson, benson as prospects though

Although I'd probably take Berry now I had Landry as a higher rated prospect. I was also super high on Huff, lol, probably as much as I was on Berry.

Offense
QB - Philip Rivers, NC State
RB - Adrian Peterson, Oklahoma

OG - Branden Albert, Virginia
OG - Aaron Sears, Tennessee (Really sad what has happened to him)

you were that high on revis? i find that kind of hard to believe. he might be the best, but thats like saying nnamdi was the best youve ever seen.
maybe you were that high on him though, i really didnt like him as a prospect though. pacman and dhall were on a whole other level

Pouncey does not belong on this list.
And Reggie Bush should replace Peterson.
Gallery should be your LT.

Watched Revis about 5 times in college. I saw him give up a whopping 0 catches, he got beat once, but walked the receiver down and intercepted the pass. Saw him take a return to the house and look amazing do it... What was his flaw in college? I couldn't find anything.
The only frustrating thing watching Revis was the limited amount of pass attempts directed at him. I think that's why he became so good against the run, he wasn't involved in the passing game unless he supported the run. It was not surprising to see him turn into 1 of the 3 best CBs in the game within 2 years.
2007 was a pretty special year. I said it then and I haven't seen a player change anything, but I saw the best prospect I've ever seen in that one draft alone at 4 different positions.
WR - Calvin Johnson
OT - Joe Thomas
RB - Adrian Peterson
CB - Darrelle Revis
If I was smart, I would have said MLB - Patrick Willis, but I was stupid.
I never saw Nnamdi in college so I can't say.

I didnt even think Revis was the best CB prospect in his class. I had Leon Hall rated higher
