View Full Version : IRC College Football Draft
Ok, standard 22 rounds. You can run any offensive and defensive scheme you want. You can only draft college players that have remaining eligibility. So that means no Brady Quinn, Calvin Johnson, Joe Thomas, etc. Draft order was randomized and there is no time limit right now but one will be added if we find it necessary.

I select Darren McFadden RB/Arkansas

So, RB is loaded, yes, but when I look at the list, McFadden is hands down better than any other RB in college football right now, 'nugh said.

Offensive tackle is very weak so I had to get one of the top two. I wanted Jake Long, but commie spoiled my plans.

I wanted a top QB and most likely they'll all be gone by my next pick. I like Brennan better than Henne so he's the pick.

Martellus Bennett, TE, Texas A&M

In my opinion, Bennett is the best tight end in the country. He's a very good receiving threat and a monster in the red zone. He's also one of the better blocking tight ends out there. He's a great fit for my team.

One of the top defensive tackles in the NCAA going into this year, Red is considered by most to be the top nose tackle. Bryant's big fram and ability to take on multiple blockers makes him the perfect fit for my defense.

I love this kid. He doesn't get the hype that King, Jenkins, Ikegwuonu, and Flowers get but he is a very good sophomore defensive back. He came to Oklahoma as a FS and then made a switch to corner. In his freshman season he made the switch to SS and started 9 games there. He moved back to corner this past season. I'm playing him at SS in my defense. The guy can hit, cover, play the run, and make plays on the ball.

I really thought he'd be gone by now. The guy honestly is one of the best LBs in the country, though he isn't talked about much.

BEFORE AFTER
OG George Robinson - Oklahoma
Everyone else has their QB so Im going to take mine now,
http://admin.scout.com/media/image/24/241173.jpg
QB Andre Woodson aka the next big thing in the SEC
QB- Andre Woodson- Kentucky
RB- PJ Hill- Wisconsin
RB/WR- Percy Harvin- Florida
WR- Adarius Bowman- Oklahoma St.
WR- Malcolm Kelly- Oklahoma
TE- Travis Beckum- Wisconsin
LT- Jared Gaither- Maryland
LG Steve Rehring- Ohio St.
C- Antoine Caldwell- Alabama
RG George Robinson- Oklahoma
RT- Ryan Clady- Boise St
DE- Kenny Iwebema- Iowa
DT- Demario Pressley- NC State
DT- Terrance Taylor- Michigan
DE- Matt Shaughnessy- Wisconsin
OLB- Geno Hayes- Florida St.
MLB- Rey Maualuga- USC
OLB- Jerod Mayo- Tennesee
CB- Aqib Talib- Kansas
CB- Justin King- Penn State
S- Kenny Phillips- Miami
S- Patrick Chung- Oregon
OFFENSE: I will run a balanced offense with a 2 back system. I will use my thunder and lightning combination at RB which consists of PJ Hill as my powerback and Harvin as my big play RB/WR dual threat in the mold of Reggie Bush. I have two big physical WR's in Kelly and Bowman and probably the best recieving TE in the NCAA. When building my OL I wanted big athletic guys and thats what I assembled. Though they are young they are all monsters.
DEFENSE: My defense is based around my DB core. I without a doubt have the top secondary in this draft. The main piece to my Secondary is Kenny Phillips who will be able to gamble more on big plays with my two shutdown corners King and Talib. My LB core is based around Maualuga who is an absolute monster. Mayo, Maualuga and Hayes will be a racking up tackles after tackle with the two beasts at DT (Pressley and Taylor) eating up blockers. At DE I have a young stud in Shaughnessy and a top 3 DE in Iwebema.

QB: John David Booty [USC]
RB: Darren McFadden [Arkansas]
RB: Ray Rice [Rutgers]
OT: Kirk Barton [Ohio State]
OG: Herman Johnson [LSU]
C: Adam Spieker [Missorui]
OG: Will Arnold [LSU]
OT: Sean Sester [Purdue]
TE: Martin Rucker [Missouri]
WR: Mario Urrutia [Louisville]
WR: Marcus Monk [Arkansas]
DE: Quentin Groves [Auburn]
DT: Frank Okam [Texas]
DT: Jeff Owens [Georgia]
DE: Tommy Blake [TCU]
LB: Brian Toal [Boston College]
LB: Dan Connor [Penn State]
LB: Ali Highsmith [LSU]
CB: Antoine Cason [Arizona]
CB: Dwight Lowery [San Jose State]
S: Tom Zbikowski [Notre Dame]
S: Jonathan Hefney [Tennessee]
Offense: I definitely have one of the most talented in terms of Rbs and Wrs. With the best RB in college football, paired with an unstoppable team of Urrutia and Monk, you have lots of possibilities. Booty has proven that he can at least get the job done, but I’ll leave most of it to McFadden. Johnson and Arnold are one of the best guard tandems in the country already, might as well keep them together. Barton and Sester can hold their own too.
Defense: Okam is flat out dominant, and pairing him with Groves and Blake just give a massive O-line. Owens is the best DT of his class and can no doubt stop the run. I feel like my Lbs are some of the best. Connor is an All-American, and Toal and Highsmith are great all around. Run Stopping is the name of my game and it will get done. I have Cason for pick plays and Lowery for all around everything. Zbikowski will make the tackles, whereas Hefney can stand up very well for himself and make the picks and the tackles. This defense can force any QB into mistakes AND stop the run.

Offense - I'm running an option based offense. Heavily focused on the running game. I'm talking '95 Nebraska style option. I'm going to run the ball 40-45 time a game and pass the ball 5-10 times. I got the best option capable quarterback in college football sharing the backfield with an awesome Thunder/Lightning combo. I got Jacob Hester in the backfield as well. I'll probably try and get him 5 carries a game and he'll be the primary blocker. I have two awesome receiving threats in Martellus Bennett and Earl Bennett. I'm going to use Martellus primarily as a blocker and redzone threat, but he'll contribute in the intermediate passing game as well. Earl provides Pat White with a deep threat.

No offense PL, but I think White would get torn up in an option offense. You need a bigger guy IMO.

PL's team is sick. I think it would have been better to run an option read type offense with another WR instead of Hester but Pat White could run a triple offense. There is also another FB that would have played that role better.
