Is LSU DT Drake Nevis This Year's Sedrick Ellis?

The more I watch LSU the more DT Drake Nevis stand out. He looks physical and stout against the run and gets off the ball well in the passing game.

He reminds me a lot of Sedrick Ellis who's only major knock was that he was undersized.

If we assume that Nevis is a similar size at 6'1" 310lbs. do you see him making a draft rise like Ellis? Perhaps not into the top 10, but into the 1st round?

ESPN has him as the 3rd DT in the draft.

Nevis is listed at 285. If that's true he's a 4-3 UT.

His only knock is his size.

Other than that, wow is this guy a monster. He's been unreal this year plus his motor is non stop.
If he packs on some size, watch out, Nevis is going to fly up the boards.

Totally agree, love his ability and what a domination he put on versus Florida, a very talented offensive line in general.

Great talent and like I said before if he keeps this up he is a 1st round talent and arguably one of the top three defensive tackles in the up coming draft.

If I remember correctly, S.Ellis really improved his stock at the Senior Bowl. I think Nevis will have to do well there and show his size doesn't matter.

There are better actual NT's available you know....I don't think Nevis has a place in the 3-4 at all. He's a pure 4-3 penetrating UT, and he'll probably fall a little because of it, but some team will end up with a stud a round later than they should really be able to get him.

If he tests will enough he could be Broderick Bunkley...window's always open just because I like him. I doubt he does that, so he'll just be a solid DL somewhere.

I don't have access to coaches tape and i haven't watched every play of every LSU game but everyone I've watched this guy seems to make plays i like him alot

The more I watch this guy play the more impressed I am. He's playing like a top 15 pick. Big time motor. Extremely strong for a man his size.

I see him showing up at workouts about 295lbs. If he can show that he still has his burst then I believe he will be a late first round pick. Absolutely dominated every game Ive seen him in this year.

If the Saints get Nevis in the 2nd I will be a very happy individual. He fits a 4-3 better than a 3-4 and I think he would make an awesome compliment to Ellis.

Nevis, Linval Joseph and Canty would be pretty sexy.

I really like Nevis though. He really seems to make an impact on every game with his play.
