Only a rs soph but already looks like the best offensive tackle in the country. He's almost 22 so there may be incentive there to leave if he is viewed as a high pick, i would think.

Is he stupid? It doesn't say on the Iowa website, but it appears that he graduated high school at 19 and 1/2 years old.

He also got into some big trouble a couple years ago, right?

Getting drunk and running around naked as a freshman, i guess that's trouble. Good thing we never did anything stupid at that age.

Yea, he was drunk and was going to get a public intox and ran from the cops...while naked. Certainly not a great decision, but shouldn't really be considered a character concern (for draft terminology purposes).
I really didn't know he was that old, and have no idea why he is. Weird.

Any problems with him since then and any talk he may leave early?

He'll be 22 in December, for me that's reason enough. He needs to add muscle & bulk, but he's the nation's best pass-protector and when he engages in the run game he's got a strong leg drive. Very agile, good balance, quick feet, & solid technique. I have a Top 20 grade on him & he's currently the top OT on my board.

No problems since then at all.
There really hasn't been any talk that I know of. Everyone knows he's our best OL by far, but I think just assume since he's only a RS Soph that he will at least stay until next year. But like myself, I feel like most people didn't realize how old he was.

Yea, he's a real solid player. In a weak class Reiff stands out. I first heard the name from Told, who raved about Reiff after he shut down Derrick Morgan last year. Really a great pass protector, but its clear he needs to add some muscle/strength. The sky is the limit as to where he could go as long as he's able to improve a bit as a run blocker. Best in a weak class. If he stayed for his Junior year he could be a Top 5-10 guy and this year he should have no problem going higher than former teammate Bryan Bulaga.

Yea, it's weird because Iowa tackles usually are really strong run blockers and will be just adequate in pass protection. But Riley is extremely good in pass pro, and I'm guessing pretty good at run protection (haven't really even bothered to watch him at it, just assumed). He has very good measurables for a tackle, but could do with adding some more muscle like you said.
I wouldn't be shocked if he came out after this year if he keeps it up, but yea, if he stays even just for his Junior year he could be a stud. He will easily be seen as a better prospect than Bulaga, imo.

He's a good run-blocker, he just isn't overly strong in his upper body. He gets to the second level very quick, looks to make blocks, and rarely is caught just standing around lost. His leg drive is very good, but his hands on run plays could use some work. He just needs a good strength coach & OL coach. Has big time potential as an NFL Left Tackle.

Luckily, Iowa has both. :)
I'm guessing he just needs to learn some more about the position and improve his strength. Besides the homer in me, I really think he would benefit from staying another year.

Pudge, I do what I can.
Reiff has a legitimate shot to be the next #1 overall pick at Tackle.

If getting wasted and running away from the cops while naked is wrong...
He's really, really good. He should probably stay one more year to polish his run-blocking, though.

I would agree with that second part but he's 22 and if he can get a projection to be the top tackle then he probably should come out.

How many people think he's the Top eligible tackle? Is this legit or false hype?

With this years OT class, who knows man?
Sherrod is the #1 guy IMO.
I mean, there are people who think Barksdale at LSU is a first rounder. He absolutely sucks. He's a poor version of Ciron Block and that is ugly.

From what i've seen of him against guys like J.J. Watt i think he's the best pass protector out there and it may not even be close.

I can confirm he's given up one sack this year, to Brooks Reed of Arizona in the 3rd game of the season.

Honestly, the drunk streaking from the cops legit made me lol when I read it. That raised him one notch in my book... Funniest off the field red flag I've heard of.
On the field, in a weak class he's the only one I'd touch in the first half of round 1. So, yes.

I'd say it's smart to run from the cops while naked. I mean, it wouldn't be smart to run to them while naked.

Reiff is not the #1 Tackle, and I still don't think Bulaga was a 1st RD grade last year.
Iowa doesn't have a 1st RD talent on this line, this season.

To me Bulaga was clearly a guy who deserved a 1st round grade and he's looked very good to me this year with Green Bay.
As for Reiff you could probably make the argument that there are draft eligible tackles out there better (although i havent seen any) but to say he doesnt get a 1st round grade......hard to believe i'm trying to convince Iowa fans here.

Potential wise, Bulaga was 1st RD grade. But on the field last season, he wasn't the same.
Reiff just struggles against the inside move a bit. And is inconsistent vs the run. Sky is NOT the limit for this kid though. He can be elite.
Is Reiff going out for the draft? Is it just me or is it really unlikely he comes out for the draft this season? As if he would not improve with another year at Iowa?

Well I thought that Amari Spievy would stay another year last year, and so would Bulaga.
I actually had a good feeling Bulaga would stay another year. But I was wrong.
So I'd like to say he'll stay another year, but I'm not guaranteeing it.

He's 22 now. He'll be 23 in April. If he waits another year, he'll enter the draft at 24 years old. I don't think he really wants to do that. It won't help his stock.

But to be fair, both Spievey and Bulaga had extenuating circumstances in their eyes. Spievey was about to have his first child and wanted to cash in when he could, and Bulaga did not want to risk the re-occurrence of his heart problem which would have cost him greatly.
I really don't think Reiff should come out as he still has a lot to work on that another full year would (hopefully) improve.

Unless the school website is wrong he'll be 22 in Dec. and therefore 22 when next season starts but you're right in implying his age would probably dictate he comes out.
Ironcially the two best tackles, to me at least, probably wont come out, Matt Kalil or SC and Reiff of Iowa.

Didnt catch the whole game but i didnt see him get challenged at all. Keep in mind in a game with about 60 snaps you're going to give up something.
I was impressed with your guy Tyron Smith for SC. He's a little light in the trunk but quite the athlete. Needs to add some lbs.

He had one bad whiff on a TFL, I saw that. Other than that, he was very good in protection, as usual.
The whiff looked like a missed assignment on a blitz pick-up to me.
Still easily the best looking tackle prospect to me.

I think it's Sherrod, Rieff might be well advised to stay another yr. until the cap situation stabilizes, look at the brand new rookie cap & its limits, & bulk up/buuild up the upper body.

The juniors will rush to this draft rather than wait for the new CBA rules to fall into place. Rieff at 22 will/should come out.

Debatable.
If there's a lockout, they are not playing and relying on their agents to float them money for as long as the work stoppage lasts since they will not be getting paid. There are certainly players that would benefit from playing another year in college and continue their development. Reiff may fall into that category, but guys like Hightower or Floyd or Romeus may not want to risk more injuries and come out.
There are certainly arguments for both sides...
