I'm looking to start building a pedal board for my bass. But I have no idea where to start. I know I can get a chromatic tuner for $99 and I know that is the part where you want to actually plug the bass into. I can get the small right-angle connecting chords for $6.95 each. Other than that I'm not really sure what kind of effects I would need. I have been going simply clean for the past 5 years, and as my bands style of music is changing, so is the need for some different effects for the sound of my bass.
I play out of a Peavy 6x10 cab with a Hartke head. I payed $700 for the rig (probably not the best in the world in terms of sound but it works).
My bands music is upbeat, almost a punk-rock sort of sound.
I know for sure that I'm going to start with a bass overdrive pedal as well as the chromatic tuner.
Does anyone else have expertise on bass guitar pedal effects? Help would be much appreciated and deserving of +rep.
