Similar to the thread about the LBs. We all know it is a big need, so we should put our comments on this position in one spot. So here it is. Anyone think we make a push for Ken Hamlin? He has received no offers as of yet and may be coming cheap. Heckert said he is playing with the thought of freeing up cap space by converting roster bonuses into signing bonuses. Anyone think the Eagles would do it? Would you want them to anyway? What about Doss, do you want him? Or would you just rather go through the draft?

If Hamlin comes cheep then go for him. If the eagles don't go after a veteran than a first round pick is the way 2 go. Michael Griffin would be the best if he falls and because there will be almost no selection of quality linebacker at 26 who are a better value than Michael.

i would do what camp_eagles says but I would like to make a play at Mike Doss. Ken Hamlin i sprobably to expensive but is price should be going down

I really wonder why all Hamlin news has been so quiet.. He is much better at his position than some of the people making big bucks in FA this year. Also it's not like there aren't many teams with safety needs which is why it's so odd we haven't heard anything substantial yet.

It baffles me as well, but maybe it is because so many teams want to go with a safety early in the draft, because this is the best year for safeties that I can remember.

I've actually heard that Mike Doss came in for a visit yesterday. Maybe he will be offered another contract. Personally, I don't know as much about him as I do Hamlin, but I have heard that Doss is actually better than Hamlin, he has just been recovering from an ACL tear. I would be fine with either, but since I know what Hamlin brings to the table, I would rather have him.

Doss isn't better than Hamlin he's a solid player, and would be a better option than Considine, but he won't be anything truly special which is why I would rather draft a safety than get Doss.

I agree with you. It goes like this for me Hamlin=Griffin (Approximately) and both are better than Doss.

Interesting on how we haven't had any reported interest in Hamlin, but we may not have the opportunity. I heard he was supposed to visit Dallas today(or yesterday, as in the 21st), and they need safety help as well. The only other team he visited that I've heard was NO, and they signed Kevin Kaesviharn. So we'll see.

Yeah, I saw on NFL Network the Cowboys scheduled a visit with Mamlin. Lets see how that turns out.
