It's that time. People have been asking me what I want, and I'm probably going to pick up some stuff for others this weekend. I'm sure some of you will be doing the same soon.

So what are some things we should be asking for/getting my fellow SWDC-goers.

It's always my ideal gift but for some reason people don't seem to like giving it as a gift, and to a slightly lesser degree, getting it.

I always note places I'd like gift cards too...they work well for distant relatives and family friends who don't know you all that well. $20 Wal-Mart card will get me some groceries...works for me.

this year will be my 4th white elephant, stealing from people is fun, sometimes they take it personal.

also, alcohol always seems to be a hot item.

if I give presents: gift cards.
if someone is offering: I decline or suggest gift cards

if my parents are offering, I just tell them to give me cash haha

I just got what I wanted for christmas last night, so I'm good. Well, maybe another win in February would be nice :)

I'd rather have cash, but I'd rather have a gift card than a random article of clothing or nick-nack I don't really like or want.

Gas cards are also nice. I always need gas.

Alcohol is always a great gift to give or receive.

All I asked for was Community Season 1 and a pair of Apollo Creed-esque USA shorts. I'll probably get some hockey equipment. Everything else will be a total surprise. Though not as surprising as actually getting the shorts would be.

The gag gift is the only reason that I like christmas. I absolutely love ******* with my family. A couple of years I bought my a toy car that he wanted, but I suspended it in a big jello mold. I used like 10 boxes of jello, it was awesome. Last year I bought my mom a cd player for her class room, and it has an alarm clock, so I wrapped it up really nice and set the alarm clock for 4 AM and put it under the tree a week early. Hahahaha.

My older brother will do that. Last year he gave me a bar of soap and on one side it's brown and says "BUTT" on it and the other side is white and says "Face" on it. When my parents come to visit I put that bar of soap in the shower but they refuse to use it because they think I am tricking them and really used the "Face" part for my butt and the "Butt" part for my face.

I hate it when people buy clothes for me. I always tell people to get me gift cards. Extra cash is always a bonus.

Agreed. There's nothing like a gift card to tell you, "Hey, sorry I didn't think hard enough or was too lazy to buy you a real gift."

I'm notoriously easy to shop for though. Video games, zip up hoodies, and pretty much anything Mets/Giants/Knicks related is good to me.

Can never have enough zip hoodies.

Nuts. A big bag of nuts. It's the best gift anyone can ever get.

They're so god damn addicting.

I'm getting an ipod Nano for Christmas and I'm asking people for credits on my Audible.com account. I listen to a lot of audio books, podcasts and such when I'm driving, exercising, or whatever.

I'm buying my wife a new phone. She wants a touch screen phone. Anyone have any recommendations for a quality touch screen phone that works on T-Mobile?

You seriously need to change it back.

Yeah, the ability to make and receive phone calls from a cell phone. That's what I want and T-Mobile provides it, for the most part. I don't have enough reason to pay more.

Me too. Don't want them, but I'm running low on stuff right now.

Probably ask for video games that don't come out for months so I don't have to spend when they come out.

I'm done shopping for my dad after I get him the Expendables.

Got him about $100 worth of action movies, a $30 gift card for the movie theatre, and a 32" HD TV for both he and my mom.

I still need to spend about $100 more on my mom and she's very difficult to shop for. So far she's getting a tv and a $30 movie card.

As for me...I just want NBA 2K11, some microsoft points, and Ugly Americans season one. My parents are apparently buying either a Wii, Kinect, or Playstation Move for the family, so I didnt ask for much of anything.
