So much for him being a riser...

http://www.blackheartgoldpants.com/2010/12/8/1863054/derrell-johnson-koulianos-faces-seven-drug-charges-admits-to

This will effectively drop him off just about everyone's boards.

That's too bad, he was one of the best sleepers in this draft.

There is literally a zero percent chance he gets drafted after this.

.......

I don't even...

DJK will be lucky to be considered for Mr. Irrelevant at this point. I love the kid, I think he made a dumb decision(s), and I think he has (had?) a lot of potential at the next level depending where he goes. That said, DJK isn't the type of player that will overshadow anything with his pure talent. He's a good WR that is reliable, has good speed, is a good blocker, and can return. But he doesn't do anything extraordinary to cover up any off field issues to warrant teams taking a chance on him at this point. He will likely need to be invited to a camp to make a team, depending how this all plays out.

I was inferring from the 3k of cash found in the house so unless the dealer still lives there I am not buying him not dealing (at least a bit) or doing some massive referral work as well.

I've always been impressed with him when I've seen him.

I think somebody gives him a shot at the next level.

http://www.kcrg.com/news/local/Johnson-Koulianos-Arrested-for-Drug-Possession-111497354.html

According to this article, DJK is being charged with possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of prescription drugs, and keeping a drug house (which is a ridiculous definition of a drug house).

He also admitted to smoking pot and dabbling in the nose candy within 24 hours of being arrested, and that some of the prescription drugs (pain killers and muscle relaxers) were indeed his. His roommate is being charged with all the same above I believe, as well as in addition to intent to distribute.

Based on this and other information, it looks like DJK used the drugs and lived with a dealer, but wasn't actually dealing (at least not more than probably getting his friends some). Regardless, it's his own fault for being in that situation and just a completely moronic life choice that will cost him. But it's not like DJK was the head of, or even involved in, some massive drug ring in Iowa City. Minus living with a dealer, I would guess like 25-50% of kids at Iowa would fit DJK's description for this arrest.

Ehh..

....what?

You think DJK admitted to smoking pot, doing coke, and being in possession of those 2 plus unprescribed drugs...as a publicity stunt to get his name out there? Did he also call the cops to make this happen, or was it after they showed up that he said, "**** it, might as well use this to my advantage and get my name out there, because that's what NFL teams respect: players that not only possess one type of narcotic, but several."

How does one even come up with that type of reasoning?

Come on now, cocaine is a helluva drug for NFL WR's with the side effects of increased coordination and hand strength.

You honestly think he's doing this for publicity?

"**** being drafted mid rounds, bad publicity and 7th round but likely undrafted training camp invite is better."

You can't honestly believe that? Or maybe that's why he was saving up all season and not talkin to the media like he usually did. He wanted to save up to go out with a bang. In fact, he knew the roommate dealt and that's why he chose to live with him way back when, so this has all been in the works for well over a year. Highly believable...

I'm not doubting that, it's obvious it isn't something he just picked up in the last week. I just don't understand how you can think this is a publicity stunt...?

He is clearly just doing this for attention guys. He is just getting popular so that he wins the fan vote and gets drafted early.

I've had this sig from a long time ago and I just brought it back. I thought the guy was awesome and he turned out to be utter failure. The joke is that all he was good for in the end was being tall. When he got owned by Champ Bailey on a fade in the redzone I knew the dream was over. I will always hold out hope for him. He is only 28 and is probably well rested. lol

Brady Johnson is class of 2008. Not dealing in high school as far as I know. I've talked to him a few times but don't really know him all that well. Nice guy in any interaction I've had with him. Comes from a well-known wealthy family in town.
