View Full Version : Create-A-Concert Competition

A Perfect Score

The Objective: To assemble three bands which form an awesome line-up and win a voting competition amongst the people of NFLDC.

The Rules: There will be 12 rounds, and you are required to put together 3 bands. The number of people in the bands can change (for example, you can have bands that consist of 3, 4, and 5 members, or 4,4,4 members, etc.), and you can drop out of the draft at any time, but keep in mind that you MUST have three bands. You may draft any musician, living or dead, but each person may only be selected once. They can range from any genre, but keep in mind that a popular vote decides this so while it's wonderful to pick people from your favorite obscure band, they probably won't garner you any votes of popularity. You will be required to create a name for each band, and a name for your concert. Graphics are encouraged but wont be required.

Ideally, although I suppose you can specify when you are picking them from if their prime doesn't suit the band you are making.

I think after everything is said and done we should make warm up bands before the big three start playing. Also, I'm assuming that were going to arrange the bands and every one in them at the end of the draft?

Clock starts at 12. Fisch is skipped, as he's been OTC for a long time now. I should have specified that you don't have to draft the bands in order. Ie, your first four rounds don't have to be the four members of your first band, or whatever. So long as you arrange the selected musicians into 3 bands at the end of the selection process, you can select whomever you want in whatever position you want. So for Job, Gilmour and Bjork do not have to be in the same band. Just an example.

With my second pick, Ill take Kurt Cobain, Vocals/Guitar, Nirvana

Kind of surprised he dropped this far. There is literally no genre of music this guy can't play. I liked most of his Solo CD, very interesting. And while most people credit Axel Rose for having amazing vocals, Slash's guitar soloing is what made most of those song's amazing. I feel like this will be a steal for me. And my second Pick will be:

My Concert is kind of all over the place but realistically I don't care. My Blues band is going to be epic as it seems like no one else wants anything to do with the Blues I can just wait. Man I got it so wrong. I thought you were saying Mike Patton sucked, which I totally didn't understand. It is all so clear now. I am basically doing this by the seat of my pants with very little planning so it was not intentional. Scott Travis from Priest was my next pick and still seems to be available.

My next pick: Dave Grohl, drums and vocals, Nirvana

He's also obviously a fine guitar player but for this band he would play drums and sing.

SuperMcGee
12-15-2010, 12:04 PM
I'm definitely a little all over the place. Mostly with folk rock leading into some dirty, slightly heavy post-hardcore sound. I didn't want to put together similar bands, and I also don't really want to keep everything established together, even if there is a bassist that I would really like in my top band. I'm still tempted to do it and then find some way to make Burnel work with Stills.

Yeah Ive been really busy with Christmas, if everyone could just finish up in whatever order. Sorry about the delay folks, I really do want to get this thing finished. Im going to take Stewart Townsend, who is the drummer from The Police to finish off my 5 person band. If everyone can just finish up and get their entire lineup posted in here, Ill get around to posting further instructions for creating your concert once I get on a computer that isnt a worthless piece of ****.

I should have just drafted Lynyrd Skynyrd and had them play Freebird over and over and over again.

Would pay.

I'll post my bands when I come up with unclever names. Which will be tomorrow. But then I'll forget because it's New Years. Goodnight.
