Who are the top 5 most "clutch" quarterbacks in this class? The guys you want to give the football to with a few minutes left down by a touchdown.
Even if they haven't neccessarily had a significant body of work in this area, which one's do you feel display those traits, and that certain level of quarterback maturity the best?

While Im not sold on him being a top NFL QB with his skills, Cam Newton definitely has to be included in this discussion

Locker has had several game winning drives in his career, three this year alone, plus another overtime win.

Tyrod Taylor deserves consideration, the game against Nebraska last year.

Stanzi is pretty clutch..
Well, was..last year
He isn't clutch if he checks down

Andrew Luck, Jake Locker, Ricky Stanzi (usually), Cam Newton and probably Tyrod Taylor are 5 that I like. Kaepernick was clutch against Boise State too but they ran a lot on that game tying drive to inevitably force OT.

And last year Stanzi was probably the most clutch QB in the country by far. Really weird.
If you want clutch Ricky, you need to let him go balls to the wall and then you get the INTs. Now you have smarter, better decision making and conservative Ricky and his unclutchness.

Tyrod is very, very clutch.

He isn't the most talented and I am not a big fan of his, but you can't ignore Kellen Moore's ability to stay cool and consistently put his team in a position to win.

In all those tight games that Boise has had over the years in the WAC you mean?

I don't see how you could pick anyone here but Cam Newton. With the game on the line on the biggest stage, there's no other QB I'd rather have with the ball in hands.
Tyrod and Locker would be the next two after him if I had to choose.

I really like Cousins too. He's not the most clutch QB in the draft I wouldn't say, but he has been good late in games this year for Michigan State. I am really high on him for next year's draft. I'd be surprised if he declared too.

The only close game they had this year was the Nevada one they lost. Last year they had an undefeated season and played close games against Oregon, TCU, Nevada, and Tulsa. The year before that the only close games they had were Nevada and Oregon.
I am not a Boise or Moore backer whatsoever, but is is hard to ignore that they've been a winner since he's been there. If it wasn't for a the kicking miscues against Nevada he would've had the chance to be a 3 year starter who never lost a game, albeit against weaker competition but he still beat Oregon twice along with some other good teams. Trust me, I'm not a Boise supporter but it is hard to ignore what Moore has done over 3 years considering he isn't the most talented passer we've seen.

And VT, you forgot about that game that happened what seems like forever.
He's not a NFL quarterback, but Denard.

Cameron Newton stands out to me. Games against Bama where they were down big after the 1st quarter, and he ends up leading them to the win. Alot others too

If you watched the games, you'll understand why it APPEARED he wasn't clutch on paper. But IF you indeed watched, you'll see that it wasn't him. It was in fact, the OL and play calling.

No... it was definitely Stanzi.

Did you see the ending to the Arizona game? Sacked 3 straight times, he didn't have time to evade.

In games over the last couple of years when Locker has had to drive the length of the field at the end of the game to put his team ahead he's succeeded. Mainly Arizona, ASU and USC last year and USC, Oregon St., Cal and Wazoo this year. They went ahead and eventually lost that ASU game last year but the others they won.

I'll go with Newton. He's been nuts this year.

Newton is definately the most "clutch" QB in this draft. He always comes up with the big play/conversion when his team needs it most whether it be through the air or with his legs

When it comes to converting key 3rd downs and redzone opportunities...Scott Tolzien is hard to beat. Not much of an NFL prospect however.
