Chase Minnifield, Alonzo Dennard and Donnie Fletcher are all potential first rounders if they don't declare.

Homer pick is D'Anton Lynn although he might have to play safety at the next level.

Is Greg Reid a junior next year?
Some coaches have said Janzen Jackson's best and most natural position is actually cornerback.

Ya Reid will be a junior.

Donnie Fletcher is a guy who I really like. Ole Miss is my #1 team but I've always been a BC fan, and Fletcher has first round ability. He has height, speed, pure athleticism, ball skills, and is pretty tough. He could use a little more bulk but he is a guy to keep an eye on next year.

No love for Charles Brown? Will be the most important player on UNC's defense next year.

Did Dre Kirkpatrick even have a good season or is he still living off of high school hype?

Some say he should be a safety now, which isn't a knock on his corner skills as a collegian.

Yea, he'd be playing S if we had anyone better to put at CB but that's more a matter of how weak our safeties are than because he needs to move. He's been really good at CB as you said.

Donnie Fletcher had a rough game vs Nevada last night. Is he truly a 1st rd prospect?

Cliff Harris reminds me of Asante Samuel. Always looking to make the big play and sometimes he gets caught with his pants down. No doubt the kid is a playmaker though. Great punt returner as well.

Thought Charles Brown was a senior? The kid from North Carolina? Or are we talking about two different Browns? There's like 5 of them that could declare for the '11 draft.

He was a senior and he will be in this years draft. RealityCheck doesn't know what the hell he's talking about.

Kirkpatrick had a very up and down season, he's still lacking consistency in his game. He'll have to make a few strides in this area next season to be considered legitimately NFL ready, and not just an upside pick. But I think he's going to be fantastic, but he's got a ways to go as a junior next season to be same caliber of prospect Kareem Jackson was as a junior.

Mississippi St.'s Corey Broomfield is going to be a very nice CB prospect next year.

FSU has 3 legit prospects at CB for the 2012 Draft; Xavier Rhodes will be a RS-So, Greg Reid a Junior, and Michael Harris a Senior.

Xavier Rhodes move from WR to CB could not have gone any better and he'll be getting another year of Mark Stoops coaching. By seasons end I think he'll have played his way into the First Round. Will get a rematch with Ryan Broyles which should be one of the best one on one matchups of the season.

Greg Reid's future is as a return specialist and nickelback. Generously listed at 5'8 he has serious size concerns. That said if he plays like he did in the Chick Fil A Bowl every week he'll overcome those concerns. He is also a big hitter despite his size so could contribute on coverage teams as well.

Michael Harris is a Juco transfer who has only had a fall of Stoops' coaching. He'll now get the benefit of a full off season of coaching and proper training. I'd say he is a midround pick who could possibly go as high as Round 3.

Brandon Boykins & Branden Smith from Georgia are two to watch as well.

Xavier Rhodes could go next year and possibly be a first rounder. He is as physically intimidating a CB as there is in college football. 6'1, 210lbs. He looked great in the bowl game when he went man against Alshon Jeffrey.

He plays a mix of zone and man in FSU defense, but where he really excels is in man coverage as he has proven to be able to reroute at the line just about any receiver he wanted to this year. He really does everything well: man, zone, corner back blitzes, and he is very good hitter/tackler. He is freakishly athletic and has really good control of his body in the air. He had 4 interceptions this year and led the ACC in pass break-ups. He was named ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year. Oh and he is coached by Mark Stoops who knows something about making first round defensive backs.

Here is a highlight film through the ACCCG. I think it is on par with some of the best CBs in football this year and keep in mind, this was his first year playing college football and only his second year playing CB as he was a WR in high school- RsFR. In particular, check out the two plays in a row starting at around 1:25- on in run defense and another in pass defense.

Mike Harris is the other FSU CB to look at. He is a Senior. Was a the #1 JUCO DB recruit who couldn't make it in in the Spring for Bama (Saban's rule for JUCOs) so FSU landed him. He is a solid 5'11 to 6'0 probably closer to the latter.

He has played mostly in a nickel role for FSU this year and also plays a mix of zone and man. He is a solid tackler and has phenomenal instincts on passing plays. He recorded 4 interceptions this year for FSU. He arrived late and didn't get the full suite of off season coaching from Stoops, but some expect him to unseat Greg Reid from starting once he does (I am more skeptical of that, but we'll see).

Not sure how well he would consistently against the run as he has played mostly nickel. I think he is a solid 4th round guy at this point and could push slightly higher. Here is his highlight film for the year:

I do not think that Greg Reid is in any way ready for the NFL next year, so I don't think there is much point in speculating. He will stay for 4 years.

Bone crushing.

But really bad in coverage. Then again, he played in the box much of the year committed to the run.

Just thought I'd pass you guys along two names at Illinois that are next in line...Terry Hawthorne and Justin Green. Terry was a highly regarded WR out of HS (Also played S and IMO is an even better FS prospect but still) who switched to CB about a couple of weeks before the 2009 season. He did very well and was supposed to come back even stronger this year. He was nicked from the start and through the season but was back to full strength in the Texas Bowl and it showed. As next year approaches and through the season, just watch his name pop up more. He is big (6'0-6'1, 200), fast and very physical. Green is also very fast, athletic and physical, only a little smaller (5'10, 195). He was a big time corner prospect out of HS but came to Illinois as a RB. He moved to CB a week before this past season and did very well considering he is learning on the job. Both of these guys will be true juniors next season and have big time next level athleticism and skills. Don't be surprised to see their names. They also have Patrick Nixon-Youman who is a nice little corner and Tavon Wilson, a FS who could move back to corner, but is a definite NFL prospect.
