Round 1

1.Carolina Panthers – Nick Fairley, DT – Auburn
2.Denver Broncos – Cameron Heyward, DT – Ohio State
Heyward will ride the big bowl game and shoot up draft boards. I think Fox will try to move back towards a 4-3 and Heyward can be used in both schemes. This is why I choose him over a guy like Bowers. #2 is too high for a cornerback in my opinion.

Awesome The Bengals would be worst after this draft then they are right now.

No RB in the first round. Seriously. It's getting annoying to have to keep saying that now. Not going to happen. Justin Houston would be perfect. CB in the second is fine.

If the Titans choose not to take a QB this year, then that's an ideal Titans mock. Lets get back to their recipe for success in the past and solidify those lines.

Worst Denver draft that I have seen so far. I'm sorry, but there is no way Heyward becomes a top-5 pick.

Love the Browns 1st pick.

2nd pick, another Rookie WR doesn't excite me. Heckert will end up picking a guy that most think should have went 1-2 rounds later and he'll beast in his rookie year (ala T.J. Ward). Don't be surprised if we pick Matthews this early, I wouldn't be.

The Heyward pick at #2 is completely indefensible. As to New England's draft, J.J. Watt might not be the ideal fit for the Patriots' defense, even though I love Watt as a prospect. I'd be happy if the Patriots drafted him (as it would show they think he can fit in) but if the board falls that way, my guess would be Ryan Kerrigan or Cameron Jordan. Since you have New England taking Justin Houston at #33 overall, I would go with Jordan. There's no chance the Patriots draft Jonathan Baldwin - his comments at the end of the season make him a potentially dangerous addition to the locker room, which is enjoying some of the best chemistry I've seen on a Patriots team. Belichick is not going to add anyone who could potentially disrupt the dynamics of the team. Anthony Castonzo and Mike Pouncey seem like pretty good fits. I don't see Ryan Williams going high this year, he had a terrible season - every other relevant running back on the Hokies' roster had far more success than him, and he was a ghost in the bowl game. If he was a great running back, he would have been on the field more for the most important game of the season. No thanks, although I'd take another running back.

I might be one of the only ones who still have Cameron Heyward a top ten player on their big boards. I see it, I've seen it and I saw it. This guy is a monster, he may not have the sack numbers butthe amount of double and triple chips he has dealt with make him very seasoned beyond the years of most defensive players in the draft.

As for the Chiefs draft, I am not a huge fan of Von Miller. I think he is a perfect guy to have opposite Tamba. Since KC lines Tamba up on both sides I would assume a more athleticism quick type who works will in space but can also defend the run is the type of the guy that is needed. Von Miller, Justin Houston, Akeem Ayers, Ryan Kerrigan are all guys I suspect will be in the hunt for that job.

The 2nd round pick for KC, Cobb reminds me of Dexter with 3 inches. I don't know if this guy could be a true number 2 receiver, he does add the element of speed and agility and provides a ton of versatility. Others I would like would be Titus Young, Jerrel Jernigan.

If that was the route taken by KC, it would be interesting to see where they go from here, do they trade up for a guy like Phil Taylor to play nose? Do they draft a center like Odowd or go with a tackle.guard type in Ziemba.

Overall solid, you hit two of the two three needs for KC.

Good pick,Gallery most likely wont be back and Ijalana would fit right in.

Amazing Giants draft, Scotty! Carmini and Sherrod would both be excellent picks and fill big needs. I think Nevis would be a steal at that point in the second round.

Our lack of DT depth really showed at the end of the year as Canty and others got tired. Having Canty, possibly Cofield, Linval Joseph and Nevis would be a sick rotation.

Heyward at the number two spot is pretty interesting, though. I could certainly see him rising, but I'm not sure if he has the pure upside to go that high. Still, it's unique choice and it wouldn't shock me if it did happen.

I like Heyward a lot. I have him going 10th in my mock, but number 2 is a bit high. You're right that Fox probably moves back to the 4-3. However, Heyward is much better suited for the 3-4. Prototypical 3-4 end in fact. In the 4-3, if they went DT, it would have to be Dareus. If they went end, Bowers is a fantastic 4-3 end.

I disagree with Tyron Smith that high.

Same here, Smith is a great athlete but needs to be much stronger at the point of attack. I do like him better than Charles Brown though.

Would have rather had Ryan Kerrigan there.

New England

Great picks in Watt and Baldwin (especially there). Not sure about Houston, just dont care that much for Georgia players on defense. Is he a 3-4 guy?

The Jets' biggest problem with their OLB's is the pass rush, and that's what needs to be upgraded at the position. Ayers certainly has some pass rushing potential, but he really doesn't have a ton of production rushing the passer in college, and I think if they go for an OLB early it'll need to be somebody who's shown more getting after the QB in their career so far.

LOL. Not a bengals fan. But, have to agree with you. Epic fail. If you can't get Fairley or AJ Green(they would be my top 2 choices for you guys), would you Marcel Dareus or Bowers? P. Peterson and move to free safety?

Babylon, Houston is a 34 guy

I'd be okay with Pat's mock. Not a fan of R.Williams in the 2nd but I could live with it after those first 3 picks.
I like Baldwin and Houston, but an OL is crutial is for us.
A guy like Hudson, Ijalana, Costanzo and Pouncey. I'd prob take one of them over Baldwin but regardless... this mock would be nice if OL is addressed in the 3rd (Center)

Not getting Kerrigan makes me sad :(

Dareus is not what they need from a DT plus he is better suited to play 3-4. Would rather Bowers or PP over Newton

Awesome The Bengals would be worst after this draft then they are right now.

Carson looked good at the end up of the season and maybe TO and Chad were the problem but Newton screams Bengal pick to me.

If the Titans choose not to take a QB this year, then that's an ideal Titans mock. Lets get back to their recipe for success in the past and solidify those lines.

Do you like Gabbert? I think Bud Adams is in win now mode and will try to go for it with Kerry Collins. I agree with solidifying the lines.

Worst Denver draft that I have seen so far. I'm sorry, but there is no way Heyward becomes a top-5 pick.

Did you see how dominant he was in the bowl game? He had a down season but he showed his ability last year. I understand your reaction but it would be something I would consider.

49.Oakland Raiders – Ben Ijalana, OG - Villanova

Good pick,Gallery most likely wont be back and Ijalana would fit right in.

Thanks, how was Bruce Campbell at guard?

Ingram is a great pick, but Locker should probably be the pick instead, we really need a QB.

I was strongly considering it and going back and forth between him and Ingram. I had a tough time trying to figure out where Locker should go. I feel if Freeman could be drafted in that area than so could Locker.

Amazing Giants draft, Scotty! Carmini and Sherrod would both be excellent picks and fill big needs. I think Nevis would be a steal at that point in the second round.

Like someone other people have said on this forum I think Nevis is slightly underrated right now.

could you please explain why the Bills are drafting AJ Green?

BPA and I was reading Evans might be released. I think the Bills are high on Fitzpatrick and will move forward with him.

Same here, Smith is a great athlete but needs to be much stronger at the point of attack. I do like him better than Charles Brown though.

Would have rather had Ryan Kerrigan there.

New England

I like Smith more than others and agree how he could seen as a reach. Lynch has shown he doesn't really need offensive lineman so I should probably switch that to Kerrigan. Yeah, Houston is a 34 guy.

I don't see it.
Cameron Heyward can be successful as a DT, but he is going to be like a run stopper, I don't think he is going to penetrate, which is why I don't see us taking a run stopping tackle with the 2nd overall pick.

Round 1
3.Buffalo Bills – AJ Green, WR - Georgia

Round 2

35.Buffalo Bills – Jeremy Beal, LB - Oklahoma

we have arguably no need whatsoever at WR, and we do have a need at QB. i'll clarify that i have no issues with Green as BPA if Newton is ranked 15 picks lower on their board, however if Newton is worth the 4th overall pick, he is worth the 3rd overall pick. i have no issues with Beal in the 2nd, but i think Costanzo and Austin would also be in consideration since we just signed Merriman, are likely to resign Poz, and had Moats come on strong last year.

BPA and I was reading Evans might be released. I think the Bills are high on Fitzpatrick and will move forward with him.

this is not true, Evans won't be released unless you heard something i didn't, traded if anything, and if so we still have a stable of WRs. and we are sticking with Fitz for the 2011 season, but who knows how far beyond? i don't think the organization feels he is the long-term answer. these are quotes from Chan Gailey in recent interviews relating to the draft:

quote 1 (http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/bills-nfl/article307554.ece):
Bills coach Chan Gailey expressed his pleasure with Fitzpatrick's performance at every opportunity this season and acknowledged last week he's "very committed" to Fitzpatrick as the team's starting quarterback.

However, that will not preclude the Bills from investigating all the potential quarterback options in the 2011 NFL draft.

"No, I wouldn't say that at all," Gailey said on WEDG radio last week when asked if Fitzpatrick's play would preclude them from drafting a QB. "What has got to happen is you've got to understand that I think Fitz is a really good quarterback, and I think he can take our team to the playoffs. But if you've got a chance to get a guy that you think for 10 years, 12 years, is going to be the guy, Fitz is moving on up in years, too. How many years do you expect us to draft No. 3 and be able to get a guy like that, even if you put him under wraps for a year or two while you're grooming him? You have to consider that."

Fitzpatrick turned 28 in November.

Gailey said the team is thinking beyond the near future.

"Buddy [Nix] and I are committed to the long-term success of the Buffalo Bills," he said.

quote 2 (http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2011/01/13/gailey-on-draft-outlook/):
Buffalo’s head coach would not rule out taking quarterback at third overall that might not help them on the field right away, but will be a great player for a long time when he does get on the field.

“We’re sitting there with the third pick in the draft this year,” said Gailey on WHTK. ”If there is a franchise guy, I’m talking about a guy that can be the guy for six, eight, 10, 12 years then you’ve got to consider it. Even if Fitz starts for the next two years and you have to develop him, you still have to consider it. I know Buddy (Nix) and I are in this thing for the long term. We’re not just looking for the quick fix, what can we do to win this year no matter what. It’s about what the best decision is long term for the Buffalo Bills.”

sounds like Newton doesn't it?

Really like the Ravens draft. I'm probably one of the biggest Jimmy Smith fans on this board. He definitely has the potential to be a #1 CB. We have some nice depth but we need a true #1. I had some faith in Ladarius Webb but all that disappeared earlier on a 3rd and 19.

Wilkerson is a guy I like as well and would be a great player to bring some depth to the 3-4 DE position.

I'll take Locker over Mallet please .Then I would almost take Pouncey also and really upgrade our O line as it still needs more depth as well. That be a great two round mock .

Round 1

3.Buffalo Bills – AJ Green, WR - Georgia
4.Cincinnati Bengals – Cameron Newton, QB - Auburn
5.Arizona Cardinals – Patrick Peterson, CB - LSU
6.Cleveland Browns - Marcell Dareus, DL - Alabama
8.Tennessee Titans – Da’Quan Bowers, DE - Clemson
9.Dallas Cowboys – Prince Amukamara, CB - Nebraska
35.Buffalo Bills – Jeremy Beal, LB - Oklahoma

45.Detroit Lions – Mason Foster, LB - Washington
50.San Diego Chargers - Anthony Costanzo, OT – Boston College
54.Indianapolis Colts – Demarcus Love, OG - Arkansas

I love Green, just not sure this team can go luxury with this pick. The receiving core this year was a strength, one of the few, everyone contributed. Its a great value pick, but IMO there are greater needs. I cant argue with the BPA aspect to the pick though. Peterson, Dareus, Bowers, and Prince all fit needs while being top 5 or top 5 type values, and Newton IMO is the only QB who they would/should look at, at that spot. In the second, not sure Beal has the value either, Paea, Foster, Costanzo and Love are all better values who also fit needs IMO. I also believe that we have the second pick in the second round, in which case Rudolph in Red, White and Blue is a pick...
