Might have been said already, but Kanye's new tracks are amazing. Check out "Stronger" and "Cant tell me nothing". Lil Waynes new mixtape, The drought is over 3, has some tracks from tha carter 3, they are good too. Also Game released his Dr. Dre tracks that were supposed to be on his last cd, these 6 or 7 songs alone could be sold as an album

Hip hop is so weak right now and really has been since 94, the only "popular" rapper worth anything right now is Common as he's still doing it despite Kanye's beats. Common is a top 5 emcee don't care what anyone says, if you don't think so you don't know hip hop, with his new stuff I don't particularly like most of his beats but the content is still rediculous. He's been doing it for a while now and all of his stuff is classic other than maybe Electric Circus but that was a daring album and can be considered musical genius, just not my flavor. I cringe when I hear people saying "isn't he that guy from the gap commercial." Everyone thinks he's soft or whatever but he is a lyricist, and anyone who has listened to resurrection or like water for chocolate knows that he has some of the hardest and most raw lyrics ever. He could rap to no beat and I'd buy it, his lyrical content is amazing, for anyone who wants real hip hop do some research on him because he is commonly no pun intended mis perceived. He is by far my fave new age rapper. Rap right now is so bad, the new jack movement really corrupted it as well as the west coast movement which has evolved into crap. Still my faves will always be Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, and of course Slick Rick, the dude didn't write rhymes he told stories. Also a lot that I have left out of course KRS, Kurt Blow, Melle Mel.

Just like to share Melle Mel's most recent video. Video is kinda corny but for his age he is still hitting it. He was one of the original grandfathers for hip hop, everyone gives Grandmaster flash credit but it is Melle Mel who drew everyone in, his rhyme used to be so crazy. Most Emcee's his age have lossed it but he is still great. I mean he's almost 50 years old and look at them damn muscles. Funny how his CD is entitle "Muscles". There would be no Biggie or Tupac if there wasn't Mel.

I understand your POV but my statement isn't ignorant in any sense. I'm not one that says "Tupac's the best" after listening to Thugs Mansion a few times. His songs were were all different and meant something. Although I like BIG, all his songs are about weed, girls, and liqour. Compared to Tupac he's just got nice flow/rhymes. Tupac had a remarkable talent of flow + storytelling/meaning. Perfect example is "Brenda's Got a Baby". It has nice rhymes/flow, no repeat chorus over and over, and tells a depictive story. Plus he's got so many great songs.
I'm interested to hear who you think is better because I don't think there is any. Not saying it in a bad way, I just don't know anyone out there.
agreed for the most part. the thing i liked about biggie more than anyone was how smooth he was on the mic. two different styles tupac is more the realer harder style talking about stuff that hes witnessed and stuff that goes on in the hood whereas biggie man makes stuff about living the life of a celebrity of that. both are amazing its hard to say whos better because they are both unique talents. i personally think big could switch it up more like in notorious thugs he tried to adapt the bone style and he laid that down perfectly. i personally never thought tupac switched it up as much.

What is an OG to you? You just keep throwing out that term in the most random spots. OG, as I know it, is an older gangster ("original gangster") who is a leader in a gang. I have no idea how that relates to Bone Thugs N Harmony or any of these other rappers for that matter.

i know he has had a better career. he has been more consistent for a longer period of time i just dont think he is as good as biggie 2pac nas eazy e rakim and the other great artists that he is put in the same category with. he is a good rapper but i dont think he should be considered one of the best. he has had a great deal of success but a lot of it comes from his commercial stand point. many things played into him being big like being associated with puff and biggie also the whole deal with nas. bone's lack of consistent success has been because of the whole bizzy thing, ruthless, and they are from the midwest. i never thought jay z was that sweet because he doesnt change it up that much he sounds the same IMO.

i like them because they are extremely unique and i feel they incorporate a lot of acutal musical elements into their rapping. If you have ever heard days of our livez you will know what I am talking about. The intro the that song is unbelievable and I have never honestly heard a rap song that can match that in terms of rapping and incorporating music. I like bone thugs because they can do thuggish songs and then they can do sweet laid back ones. Back in the day they were disgusting on the mic and the delivery on every verse was correct. A lot of rappers are monotone and I find them boring. There a few that i can stand like Gangstarr. I personally like bone because its not just rapping, they took it to another level with the harmony side that appeals to me. Is that ok for you?

Bone Thugs is a solid group although always confused with what their lyrical content should be, with that said other than a couple of Krayzie's stuff, Bone's solo albums are nothing short of pathetic and awful. Layzie in particular his solo albums can be on a list of worst hip hop albums ever. Also Wish Bone has never fit in with me. Doesn't fit in well with their style and is a weak rapper in his own.

We have a winner. I been tryin to get so many people to give Budden a chance recently that I should be on his payroll. I really just wanna see good hip-hop spread. You can't listen to Ransom note and tell me it's not one of the top 5 diss tracks of all time. Dude is too talented.
that is a really good beef right now..i heard all the disses and im like wow they both going hard

you are right besides krayzie bone no other member has had a successful solo career. they definitely feed off of each other which is why they have been able to survive 15 years or so in the game. layzie had like 2 decent solos like thug by nature was nice and the collabo album with the guy from outlawz was decent. you are right about wish although i feel he was pretty good back in the day when they were at their peak. he has definitely fallen off but every once in a while he puts out a pretty good verse.

Easy E? What has he done to be even mentioned in that group. He didn't write his own stuff, as he had Cube and other ghostwriters working with him. He doesn't deserve to be anywhere on there.
Eazy e man was one of the first people to do gangster rap and if it wasnt for eazy e bone thugs would not exist. For what he did in his short life he was one of the best. im not going to comment on the verse stuff because i dont know whether or not u are right. He did have a few cds though that were good so i doubt he didnt write any of his own stuff.

Finding Bone thugs hardly puts you in the same league as Nas and Rakim. And what exactly did Easy he do that made him "one of the best"? He didn't write, he didn't produce, he was just lucky enough to be around guys like Ren, Dre and Cube. In fact the classic and E's most notable song "Boyz-n-the-Hood" was written by Cube. If anything he was just a good business man.
