Kendrick Ellis is definitely the guy I'm keeping tabs on. Some good RB's in this game as well. Also had no idea Josh Portis was still in college.

DT Ellis, Kenrick - Hampton
CB Gaitor, Anthony Florida International
QB Portis, Josh California PA/Maryland
OC Kirkpatrick, Jake - TCU

Ellis is a big name.

Gaitor was supposed to be awesome IIRC.

Portis rings a bell... wasn't he a big-time recruit?

And why the hell is Kirkpatrick playing in this game? lol

Is that the battle to be taken seriously as an UDFA?

The only people on that list I have heard of are from UNC and NC State (for an obvious reason)

Portis was a big time recruit who looked to have the tools to be a really good QB. Spent a year at Florida as Leak's backup and 2 at Maryland but was basically only put in on both teams as a running back taking direct snaps. I remember last year reading though that he was breaking a ton of passing records at his D2 school. Will be interested to see what he has, great physical tools and solid pass mechanics from what I remember.

I have to keep an eye on this game this year because the Jags use it to their advantage.

Keith Payne will be in the NFL no doubt about it. Every team wants a bruiser with some HB skills like that.

Pay attention to this game, as the God of Football, Master T.J. Yates will play.

Also, he originally was a Utah recruit, then followed Meyer to Florida.

Wow...this game might be lamer than the Eastham Energy Bowl. The Texas squad literally doesn't have a legit QB and TJ Yates is actually invited to it.

Any chance this game is on TV?

It's actually a pretty interesting group. Definitely has some intruiging names. Watched Portis a tiny bit this year. Good arm and looks really strong when on his game, but he's inconsistent, even at the D2 level.

I'm pretty sure this is Trevis Turner's third bowl game. Gotta love a guy that is taking every opportunity to showcase himself.

Also a big fan of Ugo.

There are some VERY underrated prospects playing in this game.

I count 24 guys who I like better than a lot of the talent that was at the Senior Bowl playing the same positions.

Kendric Ellis and Zane Taylor are probably Senior Bowl snubs. Outside of that, Cam Graham and Housler are nice sleeper TE's. Who else impresses you as much as the names at the Senior Bowl? Id really like to know.

Really failed to launch. I was always excited about him and then he just never did a thing.

Well, Curt Porter is a guy who plays at tiny little Jacksonville St. (campus is about 30 minutes from where I live) and he's better than most of the offensive lineman who are playing in these All-Star games. I think he has a shot to stick in the NFL.

Denarius Moore, who was one of the best receivers in the entire country this year (especially in the SEC).. one of the best deep threats in the draft IMO. He lit Stephon Gilmore up for 228 yards when Tennessee faced S. Carolina.

Kris Durham and Chris Matthews are two of the better TALL possession receivers, that I watched make plays week in and week out in the SEC this year. I like them both better than Courtney Smith, for example, who is in the same mold as strictly a TALL possession receiver, who's participating in the Senior Bowl.

I think T.J. Yates is underrated, and is perhaps more NFL ready than 90% of the quarterbacks in this draft.

I haven't seen much of Schuylar Oordt, but he looks like one of the more intriguing size/speed prospects at the TE position in this class. Andre Smith is a guy who I liked at TE for VT all season.

Mario Harvey is an absolute stud IMO, and is a better linebacker than Josh Bynes, for example, who's playing in the Senior Bowl.

Adrien Moten is a better OLB prospect than Ross Homan IMO, who's playing in the Senior Bowl.

Anthony Gaiter is an underrated CB who I like better than a few of the CB's who are participating in the Senior Bowl.

Robert Hughes is a power back who I like better than Noel Devine, for example... who's playing in the Senior Bowl.

Eddie Jones, Ugo Chinasa, etc... all guys who had good seasons and underrated prospects.

I think as many, or more of these guys are going to stick in the NFL than the one's at the Senior Bowl this week. This is one of the weaker Senior Bowl rosters I've seen in a long time.

I think the thing about the senior bowl this year is that its very strong at the top, weakens at the middle, and goes completely UDFA by the bottom. I guess its no different than any other year in that respect. You bring up some points but I'm not a TJ Yates fan. Not an NFL QBb.
