I know but still. I looked this kid up and he looks like he is way older than 15.

Care to touch on this more?

He hasn't gotten the test grade he needed to qualify and at this point if he did the NCAA would likely flag it and make him retake.

Since no one mentioned it...

ND gets a verbal from NC OL project Mark Harrell. Harrell is expected to grade out as a high 3*/low 4*. Impressive offer list, with Auburn, Michigan, Stanford, and Tennessee being some of the bigger names involved. Harrell currently plays TE for his HS, but is on his way to tackle size (he's 6'5, 270). Gotta love big TEs who have the size and desire to be OL.

Read the article. The coaches themselves admit that oversigning gives them a distinct competitive advantage without which they would otherwise not be as successful. They need to create special loopholes without which they would otherwise fail. Cry like a petulant child all you want; that's cheating.

Good point on the conference names though. I can't wait to visit Blacksburg, Atlanta, Clemson, Wake Forest, Tallahassee, etc., so I can hang out on all the beaches along the Atlantic Ocean.

FSU picks up commitment #10 from Seton Hall (NJ) Prep QB Sean Maguire. He currently only has offers from FSU and Buffalo, but reportedly a bunch of ACC/SEC teams are on the verge of offering. Had a really good Elite 11 camp and for FSU to extend a commitable offer to take now means they've more or less stopped recruiting Chad Kelly. FSU expects to take QBs this cycle, the other one FSU is hot for his Jameis Winston, but MLB makes him a game (not a Joe Mauer type where it would be a done deal but good chance).

Good luck getting Fowler Sr. to sign a LOI to UF. He is still telling FSU he is 100%, so I'm not worried.

This weekend FSU picked up 3 more commitments.

4* TE Christo Kourtzidis (from California)
UR P Cason Beatty (conventional logic is that he is a Greyshirt for January 2013)

Good news for UF in that is taking Kourtzidis may push Kent Taylor to UF as FSU is only taking 1 TE this cycle.

I don't have any insiders, I'm just reading around forums and looking at reliable posters. Nobody is going to come out looking like idiots because it's freaking July. NSD is 3/4 of a year away, I'd honestly guess that about 60% of commitments that happen before 2012 actually stick.

I won't speculate as to why that is, because that's a whole different discussion, but all I'm saying is this **** happens. Dante Fowler is a Nole right now just like Greg Reid was a Gator way back when. What happens now remains to be seen, all I'm saying is that the only definite in recruiting is that there are a lot of kids who commit too early and flip later. Sometimes they even flip again (Matt Elam comes to mind).

Told,

Have you heard much about Joe Mollberg? He's a QB from northern Minnesota that never got an offer from the Gophers because our first instate kid (Philip Nelson) accepted his offer.

Joe has the look of a good D1 prospect, but northern Minnesota isn't exactly known for it's football, so I think he's been underlooked. I've read that he is getting a lot of interest from Iowa after going to a camp or two. I think he'd be a great fit for the Hawkeyes, and hope they offer him, considering they've missed on most of their main targets.

That's not what I've read. Yes, PSU was the second team but they tried real hard to get him to come at the last minute when they knew he was going to commit to Rutgers. It's funny that every time Rutgers gets a player that PSU was also in on it's always that PSU passed so he came to us.

Mueller said NUMEROUS times that PSU was his leader. He visited 3453903 times and was pretty much a silent verbal. When other OLman showed a lot of interest in PSU like Joey O'Connor and Blake Bars, PSU asked him to commit for real. The coaches gave him a deadline saying commit or we will pass on you for the other targets. He didn't commit, so we passed. He said he didn't like being pressured and moved on. So be it, but he was all PSU untill they made him commit.

For the record, I'm a Rutgers guy and heard the same about PSU pushing Muller for a commit because they like a couple other guys just as much, and want that position locked up as soon as possible. Doesn't make him any worse of a player, and I'm sure PSU will get theirs too. If this is the type of "scrap" we're left with because PSU would be fine with the other two OLs, sign me up.

So I was mistaken before about Rogers. I guess he just camped at Iowa last weekend, and was waiting to hear from Iowa this week. Norm Parker told him they really like him and would like him to come to Iowa, but are waiting to put out an official offer. Basically telling him that he's a fallback guy.

He's scheduled to visit MSU in a couple weeks and supposedly really likes the Spartans and Dantonio. Right now I would guess it's between Minnesota and MSU, with Minny actually offering and if Iowa offers soon might jump into it.

Also, be on the lookout for 5 star OL Kyle Kalis and 4 star DE Chris Wormley to commit to UM this weekend. Not guaranteeing, but I think they will. I actually think Kalis is a guard, not a tackle (t-rex arms). Wormley is a boom bust prospect - his sophomore year film had people thinking he was the consensus best DE in Ohio (which considering how stacked that group is this year, with 6-7 high D1 prospects, is ridiculous) but he majorly fell off his junior year. Looked... timid, for lack of a better word. He has sick physical ability but needs to get the killer instinct back, we'll see if it happens.

Consensus 4 star WR Drae Bowles commits to UT. 3 star athlete Justin King of Georgia also commits to UT.
Big day for us as we also have a bunch of other great talents at camp.
King projects at either safety or OLB.

Bowles looks really good in the video I seen. We were on him for a while at Missouri and he looked comparable to Durron Neal to me. I'll be interested to see how he plays for you guys in the future.

Eddie Goldman is visiting FSU for the Jimbo Fisher Football Camp, and Timmy Jernigan was attached to his hip all day today. Said he "loved the campus and how FSU DL coach Odell Haggins is straightforward," and said that he is "pretty confident he'll be making an official, probably for the Oklahoma game."

God if we could pull Goldman, our defensive line in the future is going to be NASTY.

the sooner he announces, the worse the outlook for UF. he's visited UT like 7 times already and might not be coming to FNL. sucks, because he was really into us not too long ago

its funny you say that, cuz ive read at some different places hes always favored UF or leaned that way. hopefully he realizes that we have a much, much better future than tenn lol. plus being the left tackle for jeff driskel isnt a bad idea either

yeah, i'm actually a little mistaken. its much more 50/50 than i think, and apparently he's listed us as his leader multiple times after UT visits. i'm just a little skeptical to say we lead for anyone because recruiting is constantly changing

interesting timing since he's going to be on UF's campus today. not that i think he's going to switch (that opportunity has come and gone), but i can't take a word that comes out of a recruit's mouth seriously. "i'm 100% coach, but i'm still going to go to our arch rival's biggest recruiting event". he'll probably try to talk up the noles to some of the kids there and get kicked out like the miami commit last year.

It's cool that we beat Bama for Redding. We're gonna have a deep WR corps after headliners like Hunter and Da'Rick.

Kinda reeks about them all being 3* or unrated guys (aside from Browles), even if half of them are 5.7 3*. I know that shouldn't be a big deal, trust the coaches, etc., but still.

They're all over 6'0 though, which is neat. Even the white guy!

According to Diggs, when he sits down to make his list, Florida will be on it. The Gators will likely also be one of his five official visits.

“I would like to come to the Florida-Florida State game,” Diggs said. “It's after my season, and I think that will work perfectly. "

Rivals has bumped up SCAR to 10th on their current top classes list. After the most recent signing of 4 star OG, Cody Waldrop.

I'm loving the strength of this class for us. Landing the Stadnik brothers and Waldrop, to go along with the Shell and Cann signings from the last two years...has me so exicted for the future of our O-Line.

They're doing an exceptional job...I just hope to see us land some prominent QB and LB prospects soon, though. I do like the QB prospects we've brought in, however. Funny enough, we've been targeting QBs from the PA/NJ area (my neck of the woods), with the Mcevoy and Nosovitch signings. Both solid looking dual threats. Shaw, Thompson, Nosovitch, and Mcevoy are all pretty similar. But Mcevoy possesses some ridiculous potential, with that body, elusiveness, and arm strength. That said, I'd still love to land an elite QB prospect. :) It just doesnt happen too often for SCAR, though.

mmm Chris Smelley. :/ :/ :/

Good to see Rutgers in the initial Rivals ranking at 24. We're going to have a small class so it probably won't be ranked highly by the time Signing Day rolls around but it will be our best class in terms of talent.

Iowa might be taking over the state of Illinois this year.

Decent chance we sign: Jaleel Johnson, Maurice Fleming, Ryan Ward, Faith Ekaktie, and Jordan Diamond, all from Illinois.

David Smith is ours if we want him as well.

I think Pirsig is going to Minnesota. I hate to admit it.

5* Mario Edwards
5* Dante Fowler
4* Chris Casher (could be a 5* before it's all said and done)
4* Justin Shanks
4* Dalvon Stuckey (looking like he may not qualify)

With the possibility of adding:
5* Eddie Goldman
4* Leonard Williams

That is just nasty.

If we end up with Diamond, we more than likely would also end up with Robert Gregory.

However, I do not believe we will end up with either, nor do I think we get Faith. I do think we will get Smith, though. And I'm pretty sad panda that we won't get Schutt. Coming into this year, he's the one guy I wanted from IL.

But it is hysterical how IL can't even come close to closing their borders. I love it.

Iowa hasn't offered Gregory.

Yes, I know.

Iowa has only offered 1 QB, and that was Kiel. Now that he is off the board, they will probably extend another offer to a QB. It is believed that with Rudock last year, we aren't planning to bring in a QB unless there's one we really like that really wants to commit.

But my comment was more towards the belief that Gregory and Diamond are rumored to be looking at schools together. It's not 100% that they would like to play together, but since he had said he thought we'd end up with Diamond, I just believe that if we do that there's a better chance than not that we also end up with Gregory. But I don't think we get either (Diamond is going to Michigan probably).

Btw, have you heard anything about Andre McDonald? I know he's planning on visiting Iowa, but not really sure what his deal is since he committed to Minnesota early and it's not like we have a buddy of his currently committed or anything.
