Not a great Colts draft. I'd rather have Carimi over Paea though I do like Paea as a player. And I don't want Hudson at all. He doesn't seem like 2nd round material to me.

The Chiefs take Ingram? WOW! I thought for sure I would see the Saints drafting him after he got beyond Miami (who I think will take a QB like Newton or trade down and get Pouncey).

Solid 1st round pick. Give us Burton in the 2nd

Cam Newton will NOT be a Jaguar

Kerrigan, Bailey, Pinkston and Thomas.
From a position of need perspective, you hit a lot of them.
I'm not sure if Bailey fits what BB demands from his 5-tech's
I don't know much about Pinkston but OG/OT is a need
D.Thomas is good value at the bottom of the 2nd.

If I were to re-do this mock with how it fell, I'd probably go
Kerrigan OLB, Camiri OT, Wisneiski C/OG and Wilkerson DE

Nice mock regardless

I completely agree with my fellow Jags fan and also to say you have Robert Quinn and Dareus going over Fairley and Bowers....not gonna happen

fair enough with the fairley over dareus comment - but i have quinn going to buffalo a 3-4 defense - why would the bills want to take bowers a 4-3 DE - who is not projected to 3-4OLB as well

I agree on your picks there.

For Seattle love JJ Watt.

Jake Locker right in the middle of the 1st round makes sense but i see someone else possibly trading into that area to make that selection.

I like Kerrigan, the rest are reaches though. I'd go with what Nalej said. Kerrigan - Carimi - Wisniewski - Wilkerson.

Cam Jordan to the Bolts if he is available... Not really a fan of Solder to be honest, at least in the First. While he is a better RT than LT as of right now, he is raw and a project and if we do go RT in round 1, I would want Carimi or Castonzo-but essentially Carimi!

I agree with my fellow NO fan. No way we take a OT when we have a 2nd rounder we cant even get in from last year, then watch 3 DE's and a DT, which we need, get drafted after us.

No problems with the 2nd round however.

You think the 49ers would take Julio Jones, a WR... a luxury pick?

We need a pass rushing outside linebacker, especially since we have a more agressive 3-4 defense being installed. Von Miller fits that perfectly.

You're killing me Tebowfan, killing me.

1 Defense player in the 1st two picks is fine but it needs to be a offense draft for the Bengals

I completely disagree with my bud T-Rich over there.. I think Ingram is a downright awful pick for the Chiefs. The second round pick is okay, but we need front 7 D help more than another RB.

king2am,
Your killing me man with trying to give a bad argument on why we shouldn't be drafting a WR at 7.Well because who do we even have good enough besides Crabtree who is even worhly of a number two spot?I could seriously thinking SF does take Jones.ON offense we can use all the help our new can get.Tell you wouldn't love that trio , Crabtree ,Jones and Davis ?

You can always pass on a QB in Round 2. Round 2 is the worst place to get a QB.

The only recent exception is Drew Brees (maybe Kolb...we'll see), but the first pick in the 2nd round was an aggressive play for him.

Nepg ,
You do make a good point.I mean we all really never how the draft plays out with QB 's too.I'm just scared that SF will be 2005 all over again like some said it might be.I don't want to miss on a potential franchise QB though.I only really see myabe Newton,Locker,Ponder,Dalton and Stanzi are the only QB's being starters in future years in the NFL.But I dunno its really hard to tell about this QB class.

The only notable QBs still available in the 2nd in this mock are Kaepernick, Devlin, Stanzi, McElroy. I don't like Kaepernick that much, but I think the others would still be available in the 3rd.

Have to agree. The Ingram pick really stood out. They need a guy to replace Thomas Jones down the line, but they don't need a workhorse and certainly can't afford to take one in round one.

If the draft went like that for the Rams I would rather have...

Ryan Kerrigan or Cameron Jordan in the first round

Mikel LeShoure, Mason Foster or Titus Young in the second round.

Don't like it for the pats.

17 Will be Jordan if he is there.

28 Justin Houston.

33 Stefan Wisniewski, OG Penn State, But BB will trade down after taking trade offers all night.

60 Watkins, I think the only reason he falls this far is that he is 26

Bad argument?

Von Miller may be the best pass rusher in this years class. And it's a huge need for the 49ers.

Possibly the best pass rusher...to a team that desperately needs one.

OR

The second best WR in the class, to a team with Michael Crabtree and Vernon Davis. Julio Jones would see right around the same number of targets that Josh Morgan would. Big freaking deal.

Not to mention, if you think Jim Harbaugh is going to come into San Fran with a rookie quarterback and start slinging the ball around you're insane.

I'll take Josh Morgan and Von Miller over Julio Jones and Ahmad Brooks.

02-06-2011, 02:12 PM
Ponder won't be the pick in the second... We either fall in love with Gabbert/Newton and take him in the first or don't draft one till later. The Redskins new 3-4 Defense gave up the most yards in our 77 year history, the o-line is crap, and we have no WR threat. We can't afford a project till around round 5. I see us staying with Sexy Rexy and then going for Luck/Barkley in 2012.
