I don't think this would be a great Vikings mock, but I could see it happening.

Solder is a pretty good pick at 17, it might be a little early for him but I could see it happening.

Pouncey is pretty good at 28 too, those two would be great to have along the line for the future.

I can't see us drafting Baldwin, he is talented but he just doesn't seem like a kind of guy we would draft, I don't remember the last time we drafted a receiver with a lot of size. We rarely even have them on the roster.

I am a big Todman fan, but I would prefer we look elsewhere there. I would be very disappointed if we failed to address of front 7 in the first two rounds.

LOCKER > Gabbert if we go QB .Dam that is a horrible pick for round one.But I like Jimmy Smith in round one.

Miami pick works for me as long as we grab Ponder in the third!

I'll be significantly butthurt if Oakland goes that route, but it's entirely possible.

...though not if he runs in the neighborhood of the 4.5 Scott has listed.

love Aldon Smithzzz for the Chiefs. i'm not a big Cobb fan, but that is just a personal preference. he at least addresses a position of need.

I would say there's almost no chance the Patriots go with four guys in a row on offense. Jon Baldwin especially doesn't fit in with the team, and Mike Reiss said he thinks there's an 80% chance the Patriots go defense with the first pick, so I'd change at least those two. My guesses based on who's left:

1. DE Cameron Heyward, Ohio St.
1. OG Mike Pouncey, Florida
2. C Stefen Wisniewski, Penn St.
2. LB Brooks Reed, Arizona

10. Washington Redskins - QB Cam Newton
41. Washington Redskins - WR Jerrel Jernigan

I'd be fine with Newton in the first but realistically I think Locker might actually be Shanahans guy. No way for us to really know though how the behind the scenes team interviews went. Julio Jones, JJ Watt, or Cam Jordan are also picks that make sense.

In the 2nd, Jernigan isn't really the type of receiver we need. Jimmy Smith would be a steal for us with that pick.

Amukamara in the first, Brooks Reed in round 2

Gabbert #7 overall? I would be a sad panda if that happened

Young is an alright pick for Baltimore in the first, I'm not sure his value is there though. I think Baldwin might be a better pick if you wanted to go receiver in the first, but personally I'd rather go with Houston.

Jenkins isn't a very good pick in the second, we don't need a DT/DE tweener at our other 5-technique spot. What we need is something similar to a base DE, a guy who can rush the passer off the edge since that's where that player lines up most of the time (if we keep the same fronts under Pagano that we have in the past, like I think we will). Reed would be so much better there.

I'm waiting for the fallout of 49ers fans who say "I trust Harbaugh's ability to evaluate QB's" if Gabbert is the pick at #7. I can only assume the above quote would then change to "I trust Harbaugh's ability to evaluate all QBs except Gabbert."

Top of the 2nd round is hella early for Phil Taylor. Where's Paea? Dropping into the 3rd?

I've seen Phil Taylor go as high as 20. He's got a big upside.

I would agree that Paea is not dropping into the third if that is the implication.

The Chiefs IMO reached for Jackson at 3 to fill an need and get thier guy, why wouldnt they do so at 21? 3-4 teams have few options at NT and the need gets pushed up, the Chiefs, Jets and Steelers all have the need or a future need at the end of the first, so early second is not out of the question, although I am not sure Denver is looking for the NT type, but he certainly would help their run D, which was not as bad as Buffalo's, but still second worse in the league.

3. Buffalo Bills - DE Da'Quan Bowers
4. Cincinnati Bengals - WR A.J. Green
5. Arizona Cardinals - OLB Von Miller
6. Cleveland Browns - DT Marcell Dareus
10. Washington Redskins - QB Cam Newton
12. Minnesota Vikings - DT Cameron Jordan
18. San Diego Chargers - DE J.J. Watt

34. Buffalo Bills - OT Benjamin Ijalana
39. Tennessee Titans - ILB Martez Wilson
46. Denver Broncos - TE Kyle Rudolph
64. Green Bay Packers - OLB Brooks Reed

Buffalo Brass has stated that they will take the BPA regardless of scheme, so Bowers works, especially if they were still running a 4-3. If they are serious about running the 3-4, I am not sure Bowers fits... All the players listed are better fits in the 3-4 IMO, or values. If they billieve Bowers can play the 5 Tech, or OLB then I am in...
I like Ijalana alot, but have Rudolph rated higher, Wilson about the same but higher, and Reed just below, so any of them work IMO. Personally I like Rudolph the best, but that is me.
Overall its not bad, and Bowers has the value, I just do not see the fit in the 3-4 if they are actually going in that direction like they say they are...

Yeah, Pioli really missed on The Jackson pick, and it was a big reach. Ironically, we would have our NT if we picked Raji intead. I can definately see Phil Taylor being our guy at 21 for all the reasons you said. But, we also need an OLB opposite Hali and with Aldon Smith being there. I can't see how you would pass him up. I think he's a top 15 talent and in a needed position.

Another thought: Is I have read that Taylor is more of a one gap NT(just googled) vs. a zero NT. Maybe we would pass him up because of that. I think the other NT we would reach for(in the second) would be Powe out of Ol' Miss. He fits more of that run clogger in the middle NT that we'd most likely go after.

Depending on what happens with Sidney Rice, I could see the Vikings taking Julio Jones there at #12, but Jordan is a fine pick.

In the second, CB Jimmy Smith would be much better for us. We need a solid CB badly.

Personally, I think Jackson needs at least another year in the system healthy before I would classify it as a missed pick, wasnt he injured most of the year? However, I do not watch alot of Chiefs games, so I will defer to you. Definetly was a reach though. As for this mock, I dont have any problem with Smith being the pick for you guys, it makes a ton of sense, and value/need wise clearly trumps picking Taylor. Just to clarify, I wasnt trying to say that Taylor should have been the pick, but rather that he is a possibility depending on how the draft plays out, and is a potential first rounder.
As for Taylor himself, the opinions vary based on who you are asking, I believe McShay has as the best 2 gap NT in the draft, CBS sports line also mentions him as a potential two gap player, and I have read else where that he is a one gap player. If the Chiefs could get Powe in the third, I think that would be a great pick up, reaching in the second I see as possible myself, and like the fit as well, maybe Ellis late, but he is similar to Taylor IMO.

A Perfect Score

Torrey Smith over Titus Young in the first please, and definitely Brooks Reed in the second for Baltimore.
