Not a good way to start your college career. Evidently they kept this a secret for a year.

This is horrible news. I hope him a speedy recovery, and please be healthy enough to start September 8th.

Redshirting is never a bad thing for a freshman.

ND doesn't red shirt players.Doesn't sound too serious, I doubt he would have started at the beginning of the season anyway, this just makes it even less likely.

PLEASE let Clausen be healthy by the time Notre Dame comes to the big house.

Ron Pawlus anybody?

Honestly if he's injured, I'd rather see what we have in Jones at QB and let Clausen redshirt for a year, 22 year old freshman.

For the record, ND kind of redshirts, but all the players are on a four year graduation path, so most of the better players just leave after their "junior RS" year, like Fasano last season. Carlson will be a redshirt senior this year.

bahahahahahahahahhaha. I really don't care. I hate Notre Dame football. I also hate Jimmy Clausen because he looks like he has the haircut of a grade 4 kid or at least he used to. He looks like a punk ***** too.

Was he even guaranteed the starting spot at this point anyways? I know Frazer and Jones were both highly recruited and can compete with him, even though Clausen is probably older than both of them.

this is kind of funny. all of the nd fans on here are touting him as their savoir and now they will have to wait to see him play. it makes me laugh because i had Notre Dame football as well

If you're an ND fan, don't get your hopes up with Frazer. Looks like Jones might be your starting QB this year.

Clausen should be fine.

And he has a rocket for an arm...he wasn't the #1 QB in the nation for being able to dink and dunk down the field. he has zip on all his throws.

Ron Pawlus anybody?I think if Claussen has a career like Pawlus, he will be doing good. I think he is another over hyped recruit. I don't think he is going to be the QB you Irish think he is going to be.

Jimmy needs to bulk up. He's 6-1 1/2 and 180 pounds.
