Not a fan of the Patriots trade up. Too much to sacrifice for one of the most risky picks in the draft.

You're being too nice to him. It's a terrible bleepin trade.
13th pick is 1300pts. 28th is 950, 33 is 580 and 74 is 220. So 1300 does not equal 1750. The Pats are the team without any pressure to deal. Washington needs to pick up the extra picks. Make it 28 and 33 for 10 and a 2nd in 2012 then you're talking. Washington doesn't have a 3rd rounder this year or you could send that to New England. No dice on trade. If you want Ponder at 33, it's going to cost you 40 and your 2nd in 2012.

i think you should learn how to read. 28 is worth 660. so the trade he outlined isn't terrible value if the pats are motivated, for whatever reason, to move up in the draft for once. your return offer, on the other hand, is laughable.

I made a typo Point values were correct for what he wanted. 17th pick 950, 33rd 580 and 74 220. 1750.

Did you seriously just break out the trade value chart on me?

The Pats would probably rather keep their later picks in each round. And honestly I can see them still trading back from 28 and getting a few picks back.

If you want me to add 2012 3rd rd pick to even it out a little more I'd be more than happy to do that for you

NO QB for SF is a fail sorry.

Someone is going to come out of this draft without a quarterback. At least 13 teams will be actively looking to draft a quarterback at some point and I'm sure a few teams we don't expect to pick one will snatch one up in the later rounds to develop as a back-up. San Francisco is serious about giving Alex Smith a shot and if the board doesn't fall their way they're not going to ruin the rest of their draft to secure a quarterback.

3) Buffalo Bills - Von Miller OLB Texas A&M

34) Buffalo Bills - Marcus Gilbert OT Florida
35) Cincinnati Bengals - Andy Dalton QB TCU
43) Minnesota Vikings - Derek Sherrod OL Mississippi State

68) Buffalo Bills - Lance Kendricks TE Wisconsin
72) New Orleans Saints (f/WAS) - Martez Wilson LB Illinois
82) San Diego Chargers - Kelvin Sheppard ILB LSU
94) New York Jets - Lawrence Guy DE Arizona State
97) Carolina Panthers - Jarvis Jenkins DT Clemson

I can understand Miller in the first, but Gilbert over Dalton, and paticularly Sherrod? Could you elaborate for me? I could see the Bills going OT or QB in the 2nd, and I like Gilbert, but I dont see that...
Kendricks makes less sense for me with Wilson, Sheppard, Guy and Jenkins on the board, the ILB's both fit what they want to help stop the run, Guy and Jenkins both improve the dline in the run stopping department which is one to the biggest off season concerns, I can see them passing up any of them in favor of Kendricks.

why would the saints reach for a position where they have no need?

What makes you think SF is serious about giving Smith a shot? He's not even under contract! Sure, Harbaugh has said some nice things, and there's a chance Smith could be brought back to serve in a "bridge" role while a younger QB develops, but SF pretty much has to come out of this draft with one of the top 6 QBs. Remember, as of this moment, the only guy on the roster is David Carr, and no one is too enamored of him. I just don't see a scenario where that doesn't happen. They have the picks to pull off a trade if need be.

That said, I actually like each of the picks by itself. Amukamara and Reed both fill big needs and are good fits for the defensive scheme. And I like Rodgers (although I think that pick might be a little early for him). But there just has to be a way SF gets a QB, either by trading up or by letting one fall to them

I agree the trade for NE looks a bit pricey. If he's cleared medically I would be happy w/Quinn but that's definitely an eyebrow raiser. He has no OLB experience and BB has shown he's unwilling to spend that premium pick on a conversion guy.

Quinn / Heyward / Leshoure / Boling would be a nice draft, though.
