View Full Version : Bucsti25(Ryan Terrana)1 week away Mock draft

04-22-2011, 06:33 AM

Ok I am back with a final edition of my mock. It’s two rounds and I’m back at it making trades all over the place, so try and keep track! This is based on what I think WILL happen, not for what’s best for each team or what the fans want….Remember blue names are links to videos, so feel free to watch them ;) I hope you enjoy, and PLEASE comment! WITHOUT further ado....
(Also I take no credit for any photos or videos throughout this mock draft)

Cam Newton (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p2vbPJJL5Pg) || QB || Auburn

Two weeks out from the draft and all indications are that Cam will be a Panther. Carolina really had their hearts broken when Andrew Luck decided to return for his senior season even after the Panthers announced they would take him with the first overall pick. Well three months after the announcement it still stings as the Panthers have about five guys they are strongly considering with this pick in Newton, Gabbert, Green, Dareus and Peterson. There is one trend in the NFC South that I see continues though, and that is when a new coach comes in they bring in a new QB. New Orleans started the trend investing highly into Brees resurrecting a city that was hit by tragedy. Atlanta followed next hoping that Matt Ryan fell into their laps as they did. Tampa was the most recent taking Josh Freeman in 2009. Cam has the most potential of every prospect in the draft this year, but the question is can he realize it? The good thing is that the Panthers aren’t as bad as a number 1 overall team usually is. They got caught in the last year of a contract year for a coach and with two QB’s that are not starters at the NFL level. Cam will enter into an offense that has a pretty good O-Line and two studly RB’s. Steve Smith leads the WR Corps but is filled with an influx of young guys after last year’s picks in Lafell, Edwards and Gettis. When it comes down to it on April 28th I think this is the pick that will kick off the 2011 Draft.
http://www3.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Marcell+Dareus+Mississippi+State+v+Alabama+IFI8Ud_ yXMel.jpghttp://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f326/lbwhitesrt/2011%20mock%20jersey/Jan%20update/Dareus.jpg
Marcell Dareus (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9OCQdUGsP28) || DE/DT || Alabama

It’s funny that all the draft pundits finally have Dareus as the best DT in the draft. I’ve been saying this one since early December, and still stand by it. Elway is putting out tons of stuff that they are heavily looking for a franchise QB, but I don’t believe it for a bit. I think they are trying to build momentum for someone to trade up and more importantly to motivate Tebow. Not that he needs any, but one year after being a first round pick you know he is licking his chops to get after the starting job. The truth is though that Denver got absolutely dominated in the trenches last year and with a defensive mind taking over the Broncos for the first time in years there should be a heavy emphasis on it in this draft. With potential DE’s in Ayers and Dummerville, there is simply no one capable of pushing from the middle. Dareus can be that guy, and with added diversity to play any spot on the line if Fox wants to run a hybrid 4-3/3-4. Denver will fall in love with the toughness and motor of Dareus and he will be a very good player from day one.

Blaine Gabbert (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5nGYHLeB2g) ||QB ||Missouri

Buffalo has tried to stick it out with outcast QB’s for too long. After not taking a QB last year, they are once again in the market for one. Fitzpatrick is a respectable stop gap, but if this franchise wants to move forward they need to get their next franchise QB. Buffalo will continue to show that they aren’t going to go with a QB, but Gailey knows that the league is a QB driving league and I just simply can’t see them going without one again. I think that both Peterson and Miller will get a good look, but at the end of the day you have to get someone to give this franchise a lift. Gabbert has all the tools you look for in a NFL QB, and with weapons in place, and last year’s number 1 pick CJ Spiller, this offense has all the things for him to step in and succeed. The beauty of it is, they don’t need him to. Fitzpatrick can start or be used as trade bait for other QB hungry teams.

AJ Green (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aABY_tEmewg&feature=related) || WR || Georgia

This to me is the easiest pick to make. I don’t care that the Bengals had a terrible pass rush, they have talent across the defensive line, and I don’t think that Fairley is worth this pick. Whether Carson is the Quarterback, or someone is new under the helm, the Bengals need a number 1 receiver. I am as big of an Ocho fan as there is, but let’s not forget how his numbers have went down and he is no spring chicken. With a bunch of question marks surrounding the receiving corps, picking AJ just makes too much sense here. Green will be in instant starter day 1, and allow Shipley to stay in the slot where he works best. Adding AJ to last year’s first rounder Gresham will provide a formidable receiving corps for years to come in Cincy.

Von Miller (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qoQII6vrPHE&feature=related) || LB || Texas A&M

Arizona feels absolutely blessed here. They get their number one guy on their big board, and someone that fits a huge need in Arizona. Some people believe that they really want Gabbert here, but im not one of them. They have young guys in Skelton and Hall, and when a CBA is reached a guy like Kevin Kolb makes perfect sense here. The Cardinals still have a potent offense, with great weapons on the edge and a good stable of RB’s. The biggest weakness of the Cards is getting after the QB. DRC saw a big dip in his play because he had to cover for too long. Von’s biggest strength is his pass rush ability. Arizona is high on last year’s flyer pick of Schofield, but even if he has an impact, Joey Porter is literally on his last legs. Adding Miller will give Arizona a shot at the always wild open NFC West.

http://www2.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/East+Carolina+v+North+Carolina+yOi0vkuBlATl.jpghtt p://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f326/lbwhitesrt/2011%20mock%20jersey/March%20update/Quinn.jpg
Robert Quinn (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kqJrjwjf55c) || DE || North Carolina

I know, I know Patrick Peterson is still on the board, and while he is my number 1 overall prospect as well as many others he just happens to fall. Julio Jones will also get a long strong hard look here, as Holmgren loves the big, physical receivers. At the end of the day though, this defense is switching back to a 4-3 and has nothing out on the edge. I am a huge Quinn fan and think he will be the next dominant DE in the NFL. He has fantastic balance and hand work and will only get better. At 20 years old the sky is the limit for this kid, and it appears that the Browns will finally get that pass rusher that has alluded them for so many years!

http://www2.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Patrick+Peterson+Louisiana+Monroe+v+LSU+S6cSqW7lMF ql.jpg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f326/lbwhitesrt/2011%20mock%20jersey/March%20update/Peterson.jpghttp://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f326/lbwhitesrt/Stats/Peterson.png
Patrick Peterson (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1oqIK9cMTY&feature=related) || CB || Louisiana State

This is a magical scenario for the 49ers. With a couple needs across the defensive side of the ball Peterson fits perfectly into the niners plans. While they would probably ultimately want a pass rusher, with both Miller and Quinn are gone and it’s too early to take a flyer on a guy like Aldon Smith. Peterson has the size and skill to either step into the lead role at corner, or be an elite free safety. Harbaugh will be very happy to find a QB later in the draft, and I really think he is waiting for a new CBA to be reached to go after Tampa Bay backup Josh Johnson. As a bucs fan, there is already reports how JJ would love to return home to the bay area and play for his collegiate coach. Back to Peterson, the number one player on many peoples board is now finally gone.

http://www4.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Nick+Fairley+Tostitos+BCS+National+Championship+op Nolf2WBGZl.jpghttp://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f326/lbwhitesrt/2011%20mock%20jersey/March%20update/Fairley.jpg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f326/lbwhitesrt/Stats/Fairley.png
Nick Fairley (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yB0ab0UMhKw) || DT/DE || Auburn

This pick is a rough one…Tennessee desperately needs a new QB but there isn’t one that is worth the pick. That leaves the Titans next biggest need, a DT. Jason Jones has produced, but it hasn’t been on a consistent level. At this point this is clearly an example of where BPA and need meet each other. Nick has had a lot of character concerns, but that has never stopped the titans from using premium picks on character concerns. Add in that the Titans new D-Line coach was Fairley’s coach at Auburn. Look for Tennessee to move up toward the end of round 1 or beginning of round 2 for that new QB.

The Detriot Lions sends their 2011 1st{13} their 2011 3rd{75} to Dallas Cowboys for their 2011 1st{9} and their 2011 6th{176}
With two CB needy teams sitting at 10 and 11, Detroit goes up and secures the cornerback that their defense sorely lacks! The Cowboys gladly take a chance to slide back 4 spots and pick up an extra 3rd rounder

http://www2.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Prince+Amukamara+Colorado+v+Nebraska+ytfudoEh4nTl. jpghttp://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f326/lbwhitesrt/2011%20mock%20jersey/March%20update/Amukamura.jpg
Prince Amukamara (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=leX0rYpk9wc) || CB || Nebraska

I want to say congrats to the Lions for getting out of the top 10, they made a huge jump this season, and with a healthy Stafford they might really be able to make some noise. But very smart move by them to jump in and get their CB. Im not a fan of anyone of the Lions secondary besides Delmas. They are a bunch of castoffs that when against the better teams get exposed greatly. I already think the Lions line is top 10 if not top 5, so you have to address that back half. The LBs and CBs are simply put, not great. In we bring All American Prince Amukamura for the secondary. He is a great press corner, and has no problem coming up to make tackles. He can be put on an island and lock down his man, but is also very good at zone coverage. With how much pressure the Lions were getting with their front 4, adding a corner that can cover as well as Prince will only improve the ability of the line to get after the QB. Better days are ahead in Detroit.

http://www1.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Julio+Jones+Auburn+v+Alabama+ryfWD-rtDnjl.jpghttp://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f326/lbwhitesrt/2011%20mock%20jersey/dec%20update%202010/Jones.jpg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f326/lbwhitesrt/Stats/Jones.png

Julio Jones (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdkKiphw4f4) || WR || Alabama

Washington started the season pretty hot, but it has quickly fizzled away. There are a couple needs for me for the Redskins, but none are bigger then getting a number one receiver. Julio has the entire make up to be that guy. He has always been a man among boys since his freshman year. As a Bama fan, I have been really impressed with the strides he made this year especially with his route running. Julio blew the roof of the combine with a broken foot, and If AJ Green wasn’t in this class he’d have the chance to go even higher! He is a YAC monster and almost never goes down on the first tackle. It is important to get McNabb or whoever Shanahan decides to choose as the starting QB more targets. I am a firm believer that Julio can have the instant impact similar to Mike Williams this year.
Aldon Smith (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTyDrwMkV-c) ||DE || Missouri
The Texans D was woeful to say in the least. How Kubiak kept his job is another conundrum after the mid-season collapse, but he made a great decision bringing in Wade Phillips to recharge this defense. Aldon Smith had a down sophomore season, but what can you expect from a guy that broke his femur and only missed 3 games! Aldon is very raw, but the athletic ability is there without a doubt. Putting him in Phillip’s defense with Super Mario could really help a spotty secondary by bringing the heat on a consistent basis. Look for the Texans to grab the best defensive back available with their pick in the second round

http://www3.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Ryan+Mallett+Allstate+Sugar+Bowl+Ohio+State+MnyRJn sCKFZl.jpghttp://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f326/lbwhitesrt/2011%20mock%20jersey/March%20update/Mallett.jpg
Ryan Mallett (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OurYaWeYlQw) ||QB || Arkansas
The Vikings have had a major letdown this year in Minny. They were supposed to be superbowl champs, but have spent the season talking about scandals and who’s getting fired. With a coaching staff now in place, we know the biggest need on this team is figuring out who is going to get the ball to the playmakers. Ryan may be looked at as a trouble maker or character concern, but the Vikings need a real QB. Mallett has the best arm in this draft, and while Minnesota would love to trade down, the reaility in this draft is that he would probably be gone by pick 15 if they were to move back at all. Adding Mallett to an offense with AD, Harvin, Rice and Shancoe would see instant sparks. Ryan has all the tools needed to develop into a QB of the Future for the Vikes.

Tyron Smith (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3HKsYCCXGk) || OT || USC

Dallas looked like a totally new team under Jason Garrett. It’s like the light turned on and we saw the team they were supposed to be. The cowboys have talent, that is not a question, but they need to hit on some of these top draft picks. After trading up and going to get the superstar in Dez, Jerry Jones might be tempted to do the same thing with Patrick Peterson slipping, but instead do the smart thing and build in the trenches. Tyron is a physical specimen that will instantly kick Doug Free to the right side. That to me is a perfect scenario, but what if Tyron can’t play the left side? I really think he’ll be a very successful LT in this league for years to come, but at worst he sticks on the Right side with Free continuing to play on the left. Regardless, building on the trenches is what is needed if the Cowboys want to make it back to the promise land.

Corey Liuget (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4v6n-3ILac) || DT || Illinois
The Rams would have loved to see Julio fall to them here, but after a studly combine, they aren’t going to be able to sit tight and hope he falls they’ll have to go get him if they want him. I don’t think they will move though, as they will stay true to their board and continue doing what has helped turn them around. While they would like to look for an outside pass rush to assist Chris Long and will probably eye local product Aldon Smith, he doesn’t fall to them here. Adding a guy that can push the middle would bring a shine to Spags face. He strongly believes you can never have enough pass rushers, and Liuget will bring that to the Rams. Liuget has seen his stock rise in draft and this should be about his ceiling.

The San Diego Chargers sends their 2011 1st{18} their 2011 3rd{82} to Miami Dolphins for their 2011 1st{15}
San Diego is getting edgy in hoping that Cam Jordan falls to them so with two 2nd rounders they feel ok sending a 3rd round pick to go get their guy at the edge. Miami GLADY accepts and falls back

http://www2.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Cameron+Jordan+California+v+USC+xMnjkyMR8rxl.jpg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f326/lbwhitesrt/2011%20mock%20jersey/March%20update/Jordan.jpg
Cameron Jordan (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOx7bqKP4m0) || DE/DT || California

The Chargers jump at the chance to go up and grab Jordan. San Diego strongly lacked the support on the front lines this season, specifically the defense. They really could use someone that could disrupt from the line and Jordan could do just that for them. Jordan has seen his stock rise, and I think there is still a good chance he could go higher then 15. He to me fits perfect as a five technique especially in the Chargers system. I think he could really open things up for lb’s Phillips and English to get after the QB while he pushes in from that 5 spot. For the chargers to get back into the playoffs they NEED to start by winning on the trenches.

Ryan Kerrigan (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBA0xC_5ACI) ||DE || Purdue

Jacksonville needs to get someone to pair with Aaron Kampman to go after the QB. Ryan is a mini Kampman clone that showed more athleticism than most of us thought at the combine. One thing we did know was his production. He put up big numbers throughout his career against very good competition in the Big-10. Kerrigan can play either end and really get after the QB. Adding him here would give the Jags a very good defensive front for the very near future.

JJ Watt (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8QT2-mRCgX0) || DE/DT || Wisconsin

New England has to be ecstatic here, while Cam Jordan may seem like the hot name, I have a feeling that BB really likes everything that JJ is. He is a hard worker, and if anyone follows his twitter knows all too well of his #DBWH slogan. For those who don’t, it’s Dream Big Work Hard. That is a Patriot’s player through and through. Two years ago they traded away Richard Seymore for a future first round pick, well now it’s turning into the guy that is going to finally replace him. I think Watt and his rangier size fits the Pats a bit better and will get the call here. This might be the only pick that the Pats actually make at their scripted place, though even this is not theirs….
http://www4.pictures.gi.zimbio.com/FedEx+BCS+National+Championship+Game+Xo_RWT5LpHZl. jpghttp://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f326/lbwhitesrt/2011%20mock%20jersey/March%20update/Pouncey.jpg

Mike Pouncey (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzjPIP3gKkU) ||OL || Florida

Miami was very willing to trade down here. Without a second round pick from the Brandon Marshall trade, they really loved to gain at least that 3rd back. So now comes the problem of figuring out who is worthy for this 18th pick. They need a QB, and Locker might get a look. RB is a huge need with the cupboards are completely bare. I love Ingram but the value simply isn’t here. Next is the interior line. Pouncey is going to benefit greatly from his brother and the way that he played. Mike at worst will be a 10 year starter at Guard, and Miami greatly needs that at this time. Having him either at center or placed next to Jake Long would be eye popping!
http://nflsoup.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/Anthony-Castonzo1.jpg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f326/lbwhitesrt/2011%20mock%20jersey/March%20update/Castonzo.jpg

Anthony Castonzo (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TgmYawhLgP8) ||OT || Boston College

NY has the capability to be to be a super bowl contender. They have all the pieces they need and will still compete. They have two major needs, and that’s depth along the oline and upgrading the LB’s. Akeem Ayers might get a strong look here, but I’m not sure if he fits the mold at this pick. For the next issue is the O-line. I know that the Giants were outraged to see Pouncey go just one pick before them, because his versatility is something they could have really used, but will gladly take Castonzo here. Anthony is really a Coughlin type guy and would immediately be a starter on the right side. Eli needs to be kept upright to compete in the ultra-competitive NFC-East .

Da’Quan Bowers (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKTEzVBDrrw&feature=related) || DE || Clemson

Surprise surprise, Bowers fall finally stops. Don’t hop on a I’m homer bandwagon, because until today I had him falling past us for Adrian Clayborn. It was only today that I found out that if Bowers is on the board here he would be the pick. Bowers was and is a top 10 potential, but has this knee problem that no one can figure out. If Tampa’s Dr.s clear Da’Quan, then I believe we got a steal. Our Dr.s know TONS about knee injuries, clearing the trade when K2 came to Tampa via trade. Don’t forget about Caddy’s two rebuilt knees. Bowers can provide something that the bucs sorely lacked, a pass rush and something that I believe Bowers is elite at, run support. Getting one DE should only be the beginning and Dominick and company should look to double up in a DE deep draft.

Phil Taylor (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ezk5xKe_vHg) || NT || Baylor

The Chiefs have come back to power and in quite the classic way. A top running game and hard nose defense. With a secondary led by Flowers and Berry the team has just stepped it up all year. The Chiefs have a couple of needs but I think getting a big run stuffer in the middle would be the biggest. Hali has performed at a probowl level now for two years, so getting an OLB to add beside him can be put on hold. The best way to beat a running team, is to not let them see the field. Teams will try and pound it at the Chiefs next year, and with Taylor in the middle I’m not sure how successful that will be.

Derek Sherrod (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2HG8AW-S198) || OT || Mississippi State
It seems for years we have been mocking DT’s to Indy in the first, but this is the year I break the mold. Not because the colts have finally found a DT, but because protecting Peyton is the most important thing. Where the Colts have their OT’s ranked is as good of guess as anyone, but to me Sherrod is the one with that can pass protect the best. He has the feet and strength to be a LT, but in case he isn’t ready he can start day 1 at the right side. Peyton and Jeff Saturday will have this guy ready to go week one to hopefully keep Manning upright.

Muhammad Wilkerson (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Q8TQg6uoSg) || DT || Temple
I really liked Gabe Carimi here, but the more I thought of it, I just can’t see Andy Reid and the Eagles going with an olinemen here. I think that there is a hint that is suggested that a DT will be picked with this position. Wilkerson has the size and mobility that would be a perfect fit with the Eagles. I don’t know if they will implement any hybrid 3-4 looks and stand Trent Cole up, but if they do Wilkerson can fit just finely at the DE spot on that. This pick could also very well be Jimmy Smith here, but I think they’ll wait until round two or three to get that need addressed. Look for a DT here when the smoke clears next Thursday.

http://www4.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Orange+Bowl+Iowa+v+Georgia+Tech+UC_lC_3IfExl.jpght tp://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f326/lbwhitesrt/2011%20mock%20jersey/March%20update/Clayborn.jpg
Adrian Clayborn (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYOYcKwpnEo) ||DE || Iowa

The Saints were really depressed falling to the first team that was under .500 in the playoffs. They really got depleted by injuries in that Tampa game, and might take a serious look at Mark Ingram here. In the end of the day, getting a pass rusher to pair with Smith and Ellis would be ideal here. Getting Clayborn here is a steal. Don’t forget there was consensus that he was a top 10 pick if he came out last year. The Erb’s Palsby shouldn’t scare you. He has lived with it his whole life and done very well on the football field with it. Adrian has the best hands of all the linemen in the draft and would be loved by Gary Williams. Clayborn will be a pain in the backside for the NFC south for years to come.

http://www4.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Jake+Locker+Washington+v+Arizona+ZbVE4V8OOOhl.jpgh ttp://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f326/lbwhitesrt/2011%20mock%20jersey/March%20update/Locker.jpg

Jake Locker (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PbienS_enY) || QB || Washington

Seattle has been a team of two tales this year, the first of Pete Carrols return to the NFL. They could use some DE help, might look hard at Jimmy Smith, but the most glaring need to me was the QB position. Last year in a strange move, they swapped picks with SD and received Whitehurst, who in his starts this year looked flat out lost. He is not the long term answer. There was one GM/Coach at Locker’s workout, and it was Pete Carrol. I just think between the Sarkasian connection, the mentality of Jake’s and the perfect fit with him in Seattle, I think this is where Jake’s slide ends. Houston also might get a look to play that Leo spot that Carrol’s D loves, but like I said, Locker just makes WAYYYY to much sense here.

Jimmy Smith (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rzaqPIyPtg) || CB || Colorado

Is this really a surprise? Ozzie sits here and a CB, a position of pretty big need falls right into the Ravens lap. I am convinced that Jimmy’s character issues are as big of a deal as they were made out to be. We do know that both John and Ozzie have done the research on this guy and he will be on point with all their checks. Jimmy has the potential to be a top 5 CB in this league, yes I said it. He has great range and is excellent in man to man coverage. Smith’s only down fall is the lack of creating turnovers. As long as Ed Reed is there, all he needs to worry about is eliminating his receiver.
Justin Houston (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kR0L2RVId90) || DE || Georgia

Atlanta has been what the model of consistent football is. Even though they come up short in the super bowl here they had a great year. The one part of this team to me that is still lacking is the Oline and a pass rusher opposite/to replace John Abraham. Houston just makes tons of sense for this pick, he’s a local guy out of Georgia and while he isn’t the typical Senior pick of Dimitrov, he still isn’t a trouble maker. Houston has shown that he can move at 270lbs as he lit up the combine. I still think that Gabe Carimi will get a hard look here, but in the end of the day there needs to be someone to get after the QB.
Gabe Carimi (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjPsgcj2ufI) || OT || Wisconsin
New England back on the clock. While I think there is a very, and I mean very good chance this pick gets moved, the value of either Ingram or Carimi is just too much here. For me I think they double up on the Wisconsin players and stay in the trenches with Gabe here. The offensive line has a lot of question marks, of who will stay, who will go. Light isn’t getting any younger, so Carimi could fit in just fine.

Marvin Austin (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTEfRNfqaF8) || DT || North Carolina
Chicago’s defense has truly lost its punch in the middle. Tommie Harris never quite came back from those knee injuries, and before the CBA expired they sent him packing. It’s obvious that in immediate replacement is needed, so why not pair Austin with another former Tar Heel in Julius Peppers. The offensive line needs work, but Im not sure if they pull the trigger here on Danny Watkins. Austin has shown that he is still in phenomenal shape and should be a perfect fit for the three technique in lovie’s defense. He’ll also get Sapp’s former coach in Rod Marinelli to help develop him along.

http://www2.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Akeem+Ayers+Oregon+State+v+UCLA+YSZ8pEB_IMRl.jpght tp://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f326/lbwhitesrt/2011%20mock%20jersey/March%20update/Ayers.jpg
Akeem Ayers (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5OeiwZVjzI) || LB || UCLA

To me the Jets have beat up on a lot of weaker opponents. I’m not dumb, this is a good football team, but there are so many pro bowlers on this team there is no way they should have been bounced out of the playoffs the way they did. The Jets are sorely missing a pass rush, and could use someone on the outside edge. Akeem Ayers can get after the QB, but was just asked to do, well pretty much everything for UCLA. Adding Ayers to Rex’s defense could be the missing piece that has alluded him even with the likes of Calvin Pace, and Jason Taylor and late bust Vernon Gholston .

Aaron Williams (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fk4QdMwWy6Q) || CB/S || Texas

This is a tough one for the Steelers. They could go O-line with either Watkins or Solder. There’s a DE on the board that would fit perfect with the Steel city in Cam Heyward. At the end of the day you have to look back at the super bowl. Green Bay spread the Steelers D out and just picked it apart. They lack a CB and S that can cover. Williams just fits too well for me here. A class act, and a player that loves to get physical, he somehow has seen his stock fluctuate as teams project him more to play as a Safety. Even if he doesn’t work out at corner, the Steelers do have a need at safety as Ryan Clark is simply only serviceable. Williams ends up in the Black and yellow.

Brooks Reed (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJsoc-5_9z0) || LB || Arizona
At last the super bowl champions. Green Bay was really hit by the injury bug hard this year. Having more than 6 starters hit the IR is never a good thing, but then even the backup started going down. Before the season started they had a major need that still needs to be addressed and that’s a pass rusher outside. Reed has been a steady consistent force out an Arizona. He then went and put up a remarkable 10 yard time at the combine, and with the long golden locks a flowing it’s only fitting to put him opposite of the monster known as Clay. With such a young talented group, their eyes will be set on holding their title. A WR might get a look here as Driver’s age is up there and Jones might not come back.

VERY nice overall mock.

Looks great as well.

As for the Ravens pick, with how your draft went, Jimmy Smith is an EXCELLENT pick for the Ravens. Our veterans will get Smith's head on straight and hopefully make him into a pro bowl type player that he can be.

Great mock overall.

It's not impossible the Vikings take Mallett, but I think it would be much more likely if we took Locker there.

he just makes the most sense, and has been talked about in the NFL circles about going that high. He is the best pure QB in the draft

Double dipping on schools, and getting excellent talent and value at each of those spots

+ rep on the format, though. Very nice.

he just makes the most sense,

Not if you consider off-field concerns and character, which Frazier has repeatedly said are of huge importance to him.

But what is true and what is not? Did he have drug use yes, when we dont know. It seems every team is trying to drive him down so that he falls to them, I just don't see it happening

I will never disagree with Taylor to KC

I will never disagree with Taylor to KC

you simply can't! Though I think they are going to do their best to grab a pass rusher and him with their first two picks

Green is a solid pick for the Bengals.

Amazing format man!

Also good fits across the board for me. I like Smith for the Ravens also.

I don't have a problem trading down and getting Tyron. I just REALLY doubt that Peterson falls past 4-5 and Jerry doesn't starting calling to move up.

Mock looks great btw.

Great job, reasonable trades and solid Saints pick. I think it will be Clayborn or Ingram. It would be nice to trade up in round 2 and get Ingram if he is still there. He could very well go #24, since the Saints are enamoured with him.

great mock like what you did with the pats. As a Panthers fan though, Im praying we are just bluffing as far as taking Cam Newton lol.

Yeah I think the calls will def be made, whether they follow through? I dont know...

Thank you sir, Yeah I could def see you guys trading up to the 33 spot to grab Ingram after waiting a night

Your guess is as good as mine, everything just leads to Cam at this point
