View Full Version : ShameShame6's Final Mock Draft

04-28-2011, 10:59 AM
Here's my final mock draft. Keep in mind many of my picks are based on where a prospect's value lie. Since i don't include trades many of the picks are based more on the slot rather than the team. One rd. quick explanations...

1. CAR - Cam Newton/QB/Carolina
All-or-nothing pick here. Looking more and more like a lock.

2. DEN - Von Miller/OLB/Texas A&M
I'm drinkin the Kool-Aid here. Apparently he's higher than Dareus on their board.

3. BUF - Marcel Dareus/DT/Texas A&M
They'll pick between VM and MD based on who Denver drafts. Doubt they go QB yet.

4. CIN - A.J. Green/WR/Georgia
Green is the sure-thing WR of this draft. They can get their QB in the 2nd.

5. ARI - Patrick Peterson/CB/Louisiana State
Best player available. Don't see them drafting a QB here.

6. CLE - Julio Jones/WR/Alabama
Would love for Green to fall and would love to trade down. JJ is the pick if they stay.

7. SF - Robert Quinn/OLB/North Carolina
Expect them to explore trade too with Gabbert on the board. If not Quinn fits a need.

8. TEN - Nick Fairley/DT/Auburn
Going to be tough for them to pass on a QB, but Fairley is a potential cant-miss player.

9. DAL - Cameron Jordan/DE/California
Hard pick to predict on. But they love this kid and really who doesn't as a 3-4 end.

10. WAS - Blaine Gabbert/QB/Missouri
They love the kid and his skills make sense for Shannahan. Expect a trade up or down.

11. HOU - Aldon Smith/OLB/Missouri
I like Smith as a sleeper DPOY candidate. Think he'd be a solid fit in Houston.

12. MIN - Prince Amukamara/CB/Nebraska
Locker is an option here, but Prince is certainly the best player available and fits a need.

13. DET - Tyron Smith/OT/Southern California
Smith will slide if Dallas goes another direction. MIN, DET, and even NYG are options.

14. STL - Corey Liuget/DT/Illinois
Liuget is an interesting fit in a 3-4 but he's a guy all the scouts really like.

15. MIA - Mike Pouncey/OG/Florida
Expect the Phins to trade down. Pouncey fits need, can trade back up for QB/RB.

16. JAC - Christian Ponder/QB/Florida St
Ponder looking more and more like #3 QB, its time Jags address future QB.

17. NE - Anthony Castonzo/OT/Boston College
Pats in enviable position to go BPA. Castonzo is an immediate starter on the OL.

18. SD - J.J. Watt/DE/Wisconsin
Watt is a solid value here as he could go as high as #9, fits a major need.

19. NYG - Akeem Ayers/OLB/UCLA
A team will reach on this guy in the top 25 with a lack of true LBs high on the board.

20. TB - DaQuan Bowers/DE/Clemson
I think TB is a team who can take a chance. Jimmy Smith is also a possibility.

21. KC - Gabe Carimi/OT/Wisconsin
Chiefs could really use OL help. Carimi is dropping but I think he fits KC well.

22. IND - Nate Solder/OT/Colorado
A couple ways Indy could go, but they certainly desire OL help. Solder is hit-or-miss guy.

23. PHI - Jimmy Smith/CB/Colorado
Character concerns clearly drop him here, but Eagles can take a chance.

24. NO - Cameron Heyward/DE/Ohio State
I like Heyward for the Saints as a guy who can play end on run downs and inside on pass downs.

25. SEA - Danny Watkins/OG/Baylor
Watkins is a near-lock for late round one. Fits a need for the 'Hawks.

26. BAL - Ryan Kerrigan/OLB/Purdue
Expect a team like BAL or NYJ to trade up for these guy as he falls.

27. ATL - Mark Ingram/RB/Alabama
Atlanta will consider moving down, I like teams to trade ahead of NE for this guy.

28. NE - Jake Locker/QB/Washington
I love the kid but teams are certainly scared off. TEN or WAS may trade up.

29. CHI - Marvin Austin/DT/North Carolina
Certainly a guy I like for the Bears. Athletic DT to replace Harris.

30. NYJ - Phil Taylor/NT/Baylor
I expect this guy to go higher. KC, ATL, trade ups are possible. But fits need if here.

31. PIT - Kyle Rudolph/TE/Notre Dame
With lack of TE talent in this draft don't see him falling out of Rd. 1. NYG, TB, ATL possibilities.

32. GB - Derek Sherrod/OT/Mississippi State
Can go #19, can fall to mid Rd.2. Would fit need here if he's available.

I like the pick and reasoning for the Saints.

04-28-2011, 11:03 AM
Id prefer kerrigan but am perfectly fine with heyward

04-28-2011, 11:26 AM
Like the Bills pick, but with the need for QB in Minny, I can't see them passing on Locker. He just seems to be a perfect fit, to me.

rudolph at 31 is ABYSMAL. i love him, think hes a future all pro but the steelers just cant justify making that pick

if you read the comments i wrote before my mock you'd understand. most of the picks are based more on value where i see players falling the draft. Rudolph will be a first rounder somewhere between 21-32 and i think a team trades up to get him. I think Pittsburgh could certainly fall back a little bit for a DE or CB that fits their system.
