View Full Version : Your Teams Ideal Day 2?

I'll do the Eagles eventually.

Ideally the Falcons will get an instant impact star. It sounds unlikely and overly simple, but the Falcons are clearly trying to win now and just need as many immediate contributors as possible. A quality defender would probably be best, but the Falcons could still use a TE, OL or RB. They are likely planning to be aggressive in free agency, so I don't think they're forced to target any one position.

Ideal? Uhhhhhh...

2- Leonard Hankerson, WR
3- Stefan Wisniewski, OC

Of course, there's no way either of those guys are there when the Bears get to their second rounder.

realistically?

2- John Moffitt, OG
3- Jurrell Casey, DT

Offensive line. Pretty dried up at this point. I'm gonna hope for maybe Clint Boling at this point and maybe Ben Ijalana if he falls to the 3rd.

49ers-

Ijalana, Gilbert, Franklin..at least one of them should be there by then

Franklin or Ijalana would be ideal for the Raiders. Both fit as powerful run blockers we are looking to add. Also wouldnt mind trading up for Bowers, who is well worth the risk in the 2nd round.

Buffalo Bills

Round 2

Brooks Reed-OLB Arizona

Round 3

Kelvin Sheppard-LSU

Round 2

Kyle Rudolph-TE Notre Dame

Round 3

Benjamin Ijalana-RT Villanova

Round 2

Brooks Reed-OLB Arizona

Round 3

Luke Stocker-TE Tennesse

A variation of those 3 and I'd be pretty excited.

Go back in time and use our first rounder on a first round talent... then pick Ponder in the 2nd :(

Round 2: Randall Cobb or Jurrell Casey
Round 3: Taiwan Jones or Christian Ballard

Some combination of those 4, with one playmaker and one DL

Trade a pick next year for a 2nd rounder, then:

2. Ryan Williams, Running Back, Va. Tech
3. Leonard Hankerson, Wide Receiver, Miami (Fla.)
4. Taiwan Jones, Running Back, Eastern Washington
5. Virgil Green, Tight End, Nevada
6. T.J. Yates, Quarterback, North Carolina
7. Byron Bell, Offensive Tackle, New Mexico
7. D'Aundre Reed, Defensive End, Arizona
7. Bryant Browning, Offensive Guard, Ohio State

That would be about as good as I could hope for for Miami. They better do some work after going safe and boring with Pouncey at 15.

Round 3: defensive tackle and corner back, we've got 2 picks so hopefully a couple of guys slip a little bit.

Skins need a big, greasy fatboy at NT, the kid from Hampton, Kendrick Ellis would be ideal.

Also we need ILBs who can blitz and cover. Not many future superstars available in this draft, but there are several prospects with great starting potential.

Or does Shanahan give Kaepernick a phone call at 41??

treyskins
04-29-2011, 06:01 AM
For the Skins in rd 2 i'd go with;

Corner A. Williams
WR Hankerson

What i expect is a trade-up for a QB.

2.Andy Dalton/Ryan Williams/Rahim Moore

If I was New England, I'd have spent the night working the phones and trying to get a 2012 1st and maybe some kind of third round pick for #33 similar to the Ingram deal to allow someone to come up ahead of Buffalo/Cincinnati for a quarterback. Then I'd work on bolstering the offensive and defensive lines at the end of the round. Guys like Clint Boling, Rodney Hudson, John Moffitt, or Stefen Wisniewski would be nice.

Just had this discussion, for Baltimore it'll most likely be WR Torrey Smith or OLB Brooks Reed, if their still available.
- From my knowledge, Both Ed Reed and Ray Lewis have had conversations with Jimmy Smith over the phone. I'm glad, they both have been through a lot and know what it's like to learn self-discipline. The leaders in this locker room are determined to teach Jimmy the ropes while keeping an extremely close eye on his off the field activity.

Redskins:

41. Mallet, Stanzi or Dalton - want nothing to do with Kaepernick. If Kyle Shanahan could be successful with Schaub - Mallet or Stanzi have all the same type of tools.

49. Hankerson/Torrey Smith

Get the BPA at the positions of need we have (DT, OLB, CB, S, WR, and maybe RB).

And a bonus for the Vikings.....just give up on life and move to LA.

I just want a solid OLB for the NY Jets. Who can rush the passer (I like Jabaal Sheard). If there's nobody there by their pick in the the 3rd round. I'd look for BPA at a need position.

Not a high reach though. Like Vikings/Ponder.

Eh I don't think everyone who brought up his name likes ND. Not sure who is potentially available in FA, but it could be very likely that Rudolph is the elite pass catching TE available through either route.

the only name i remember off the top of my head was zach miller with a 3rd round tender. i'd take that a hundred times over before wasting my time with an injury-prone TE in the second.

but then, i may just be bitter because i'm sick of seeing him sent to denver.

Pretty cut and dry for the Browns. We need to draft a DE and a WR with our 2 second round picks, if not then trade down and acquire more picks.

Brooks Reed, Da'Quan Bowers, Jabaal Sheard, Justin Houston some names at DE.
Greg Little, Randall Cobb, Jernel Jerrigan, Torrey Smith, Edmund Gates, Titus Young some names at WR.

Anything to get more athletic and stronger along the front seven. We really got screwed a bit by not coming out of last night with the possibility of a five technique worth it at the top of the second. We need to find someone to help there. Still need some interior offensive line help to, but I really hope we don't go for lateral moves and draft someone who will have the same issues the guys we have on the roster have...like Rodney Hudson.

Pretty much...would be interesting if Houston/Sheard tumble down due to character concerns but pick #94 is really far away, a guy like Moch or Carter would be interesting as well if they like the fit. If there's no good OLB's on the board I'd like the best CB, FS, NT, or WR on the board. Wouldn't say no to a tremendous value at another position either, particularly OL.

Why would you want another undersized RB?

My ideal Patriots Trade scenario:

1) Trade #33 to Random Team for 2011 3rd and 2012 1st
2) Trade one of the 3rd round picks for a 2012 2nd.

Razor
04-29-2011, 03:52 PM
Errr.... Because he plays bigger than his size would indicate maybe? Because he's a great fit in our offense... Because I think he can contribute from day 1. I don't care about his size or lack of it. He's much more powerful than you'd think just by looking at his numbers.

ElectricEye
04-29-2011, 03:54 PM
Yeah, I really want no part in another undersized runner either. We have two of those guys ready to go next year who project to be more productive than Hunter. I don't think we need a runner at all...but if we do take one at least take a guy with a ton of upside and who brings something different to the table.

Razor
04-29-2011, 03:58 PM
I know that most patriot fans love Woody, so do I.. But nobody knows if he's going to be a factor again. Hunter is far more talented than Woody and would be able to play right away. I think he's a great fit for us. I don't care about size when it comes to runningbacks, I actually prefer shorter backs.

coordinator0
04-29-2011, 04:01 PM
Jimmy Smith potentially fixed the biggest hole in our secondary, but we still have a few needs.

Receiver - a vertical threat as well as somebody who can play on the edge.
Pass-rusher - It's hard to predict the kindle situation and our pas-rush has been bad enough to address it early again.
Offensive line - What they plan on doing with Gaither determines if we need another tackle along with a future replacement for Birk (Wisniewski for day 2 purposes).

Ideally I would like Hankerson or Young at 58 and Chris Carter at 90, but I doubt it happens.

Roddoliver

I think he's a great fit for us. I don't care about size when it comes to runningbacks, I actually prefer shorter backs.

I'm not sure he is. What does Hunter do significantly better on the football field than Woodhead? Physically, it's basically a wash. Hunter is bigger, but not significantly more powerful. Woodhead does a fine job in pass production and running between the tackles when we need him too, so size isn't even really an issue. Woody tested a lot faster coming out and looks like he has an extra step on Hunter on tape too, so speed is fine.

What has Woodhead done at all to make you doubt his ability to be productive going forward. Woodhead put up nearly 900 total yards last year. You give Hunter those same touches and I'm not sure he puts up the same numbers. If it's not broke, there's really no reason to fix it. Lateral moves(if they're even lateral) are not worth a high draft pick. It's a moot point anyway given that we locked Woodhead up long term recently and Hunter would just be competing for the same role. Not happening.

Razor
04-29-2011, 04:07 PM
I wouldn't say that it's broke, but look at it this way. Sammy Morris and Fred Taylor are out, maybe Faulk too... I'd much rather take a young back to help our running game than a vet who's more expensive and is much more prone to injuries. I've said it before, but I love Hunter's lateral mobility and his ability to make tacklers miss. He's just a playmaker and I don't think you can have too many playmakers. Depth at runningback is paramount imo, and right now we don't have much depth there.
