I figured we already have a QB thread and Edge Rusher thread why not add one for all the other positions. Discuss the potential runningbacks class in here. The consensus #1 RB is Trent Richardson from Alabama. I also really like LaMichael James, Knile Davis, Cyrus Gray, The Ole Miss Duo, Ken Malcome, Kenjon Barner and Johnathan Franklin.

I like Polk and his speed, not sure if he is NFL ready right now though.

Trent Richardson owns all. I think if he has a Heisman Type Year and Alabama goes to a National Championship he could end up being the Best RB Prospect since Adrian Peterson.

I really think Denard has a chance to be a first round prospect at RB. Dude is silly crazy fast.

I'm really not as high on Richardson as others. Maybe it's because of my huge love for Ingram and watching him be the #1 guy this year he'll grow on me. I did like him a lot when he started while Ingram was injured though.

I love me some Lamichael James, but I just don't know how well his game translates to the NFL. Also everyone wants to choke a ***** every now and then, but you don't actually choke a ***** Lamichael lol

Some other guys to watch though Andre Ellington I like a lot but he needs to get bigger, don't think he can stay healhty in the NFL. Of course have to keep our eye out for Bryce Brown. Davis Wilson is also interesting will have to see him carry the load. 2 seniors who won't have ideal measurables and combine #'s are Montel Harris and Doug Martin but they are extremely productive and are those kind of 3rd/4th round picks who develop into NFL caliber backs.

He is silly crazy fast, but he is also 6'0 188 (and truthfully he looks even smaller) and way too small to be considered an elite running back prospect.

Knile Davis is a guy I can see making a big time push up the rankings and hasn't been talked about so much in draft circles yet. With Mallet being gone, he's far and away the best player left on that Arkansas offense. Only had 204 carries last year. Should see that number go up just a bit this year haha.

Denard Robinson?
I haven't heard this one before. Maybe he could succeed at WR but how many 6' tall 190 pound guys are there at RB in the league? He's also a little frail, from what I remember he left a few games games with hand, shoulder, knee, and head injuries last year.

I really don't think there is that big of a gap. I actually think LaMichael will translate quite well to the NFL. I also don't see any elite RB yet except maybe Davis so I don't think there is any gap actually.

I'm not sure where I would project Robinson to play in the NFL right now. At 190 pounds, he certainly isn't a starting running back or a starting receiver either for that matter, probably. But he can certainly run and slash through defenses. Might get the most out of him by asking him to do a little of both. I highly doubt he comes out unless he's pushed to do so.

Denard Robinson will be a mix of Brad Smith and Josh Cribbs IMO. I think he will play WR and develop into a speedy slot and deepthreat guy as well as a wildcat QB and potential returnman if a team is willing to try him there due to his insane quickness.

Jones whent in the 4th and played RB in college unlike Robinson. No way Robinson goes earlier than round 5.

Should be one of the better backs in the ACC again this year. When he's on, he's an absolute big play threat. I would like to see him be a little more consistent though. Goes through large stretches of being completely ineffective and then can just completely take over a game for the next few series'.

Robinson isn't even 21 yet, so he may still be able to gain a good amount of weight.

A lot of people are down on this Running Back Class for 2012, but I think it has some major stud potential.

Trent Richardson is obviously an animal. Only a guy with an insane amount of talent like Richardson could make losing a Heisman Trophy winner seem so miniscule. Overall, the guy is just an absolute freak. After all, he won a Class AA Lifting Championship in High School, which consisted of a combination of Bench Press and Clean and Jerk. He beat the 2nd place guy by 20 lbs. Richardson has also recorded a 40-Inch Vertical and though he has only been timed around a 4.53 in the forty, the guy has clocked in the 10.5's in the 100 meters. People keep hyping up Lamar Miller for his combination of size and speed, but the fastest 100m time Miller ever recorded was 10.72. Richardson is as complete and as dynamic as they come.

I also like Lamar Miller a good amount. I like the Ronnie Brown comparison I saw somebody gave him.

I think Jonathan Franklin is going very under the radar. He is a Jamaal Charles clone. Franklin is an all-around back who is insane quickness and agility. Like Charles, he probably won't crack the 1st come draft day, but he is going to make an impact in the NFL.

I also love LaMichael James. He isn't Steve Slaton. I think he has the ability to make a true and consistent impact in the NFL. I don't want to go as far as Barry Sanders yet, but he does a lot of things that remind me of Barry.

The depth isn't good, no. But, I think these four guys are all legit 1st Rounders as of now.

You think so,he might be able to a 3 down back maybe. But who knows I guess.Florida is back to a pro style offense this year maybe he can light it up.

Not that high on McCaleb especially over guys like Cyrus Gray, Knile Davis, Harris, Boom, and others. He's built like a wide receiver and doesn't have the toughness to run inside. He's a beast on those jets sweeps though. As an NFL prospect I see a good comparison being Lorenzo Booker. Now Dyer is going to be a stud. I have Lattimore slightly above him but Dyer's quickness does give him an edge in that department. Trey Burton doesnt' seem to deserve a mention yet until I we see him permanently as an actual back and not just in gimmick plays but he has interesting physical tools especially his strength. Wish Denard Robinson would be moved to RB as I see tools to be a pro back, but at QB you just can't accurately project if he could make the transition to RB as running from the QB position is an entirely different game.

I think Barner will have a great year splitting carries and teams will view him as a #1 back who was forced into a #2 role. I think James and Barner are the next McFadden/Jones combo.
