Need help finding a song

Hey guys, I can't seem to figure out what this song was that I heard at the bar. I texted myself some of the lyrics so I wouldn't forget but it didn't really help.

Anyways, it was a country-ish song and here's what I have of the lyrics:

'Southern man....
He goes hand in hand...'

that was from the beginning of the chorus and I'm not sure if it's hand in hand but that's what I could make out from it.

After looking around, I know its not:

Hahaha nice one. Come to think of it, i think it might just be Southern man by neil diamond. My bad, the first part I may have confused where he says 'better keep your hand' with 'goes hand in hand'. And the intro chorus doesn't repeat - I don't remember hearing it again. It's got to be it.
