The Detroit Free Press reports that the Lions have joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/05/16/bucs-turn-down-hard-knocks/) and Denver Broncos in turning down an opportunity to be covered by HBO’s Hard Knocks show.

i think it's going to be hard for Hard Knocks to have a show this year. to much up in the air with the lockout. there is no time frame for training camp. IMO, it would be very hard to set up this late in the game. especially without having chosen a host team, yet.

this makes me sad too. i love Hard Knocks. i keep HBO year round just because i have to see every episode.

They should ask the Raiders.

Smart for any team to turn this down. Honestly, teams like the Bucs and Lions, who are young and up coming teams don't need any distractions right now. Same thing about the Broncos, especially since all eyes would be on Tebow.

Surprised they didn't approach the Falcons. Apparently they're interested in the show.

There have been rumors out there that Lane Kiffen is open to doing a college edition at USC...

Lane Kiffin needs to learn to keep his mouth shut.

Lane Kiffin needs to learn to keep his mouth shut.

He needs to keep his mouth shut because he said he would be open to a college version of hard knocks? He hasnt ran his mouth since he got to USC, so maybe you just stop talking.

I think that only a strong franchise with a veteran presence should do this. Young guys have a hard enough time just trying to adapt and be successful. The don't need extra cameras in their personal team space.

I think the Ravens would be awesome, but I'm a Ravens fan though. I think that there are some good personalities and the organization knows what they're getting into because they were on before.

I think it would be an awesome team. Get to say Ray Lewis and Ed Reed get after that defense. Get to see how Flacco progresses this season, team with high expectations every year.

Maybe New England would be interested. They could also provide the filming equipment.

Falcons would have been a perfect team. they are coming off a good season with high expectations for this season. they have the veteran leadership needed to make it work. it would have been an interesting team to watch.
