Draft Picks:

1(18) Kenneth Faried, PF, Morehead State
2(52) Andrew Goudelock, PG/SG, Charleston

Player Transactions

Atlanta uses Amnesty Clause on Marvin Williams
Reasoning: Marvin Williams has been a massive bust and is over paid. Taking advantage of the amnesty clause in the new labor agreement the Hawks are able to rid his contract of the cap figures.

Atlanta Receives: Al Jefferson, #18 pick overall
Washington Receives: #3 pick overall
Utah Receives: #6 overall, Josh Smith
Reasoning: Atlanta needed a true post man and Jefferson is one of the best post players in the league, gives the Hawks a lethal Al big man combination. Getting a first rounder out of this was huge, so essentially the Hawks trade Josh Smith for Al Jefferson and Kenneth Faried.

Atlanta Receives: Travis Outlaw, #27 pick overall
New Jersey Receives: Kirk Hinrich, #48 overall
Reasoning: The Hawks need SF depth in the worst way possible. Outlaw is a guy who was out of shape last year but is getting back on track. He was a huge asset in Portland with his defense, athleticism, and ability to finish. Will get immediate playing time, Hinrich is not needed with the development of Teague and possible resigning of Jamal Crawford.

Atlanta Receives: Martell Webster
Minnesota Receives: Zaza Pachulia
Reasoning: The Hawks love Zaza but they simply need shooters and depth in the back court, Webster is a very good 3 point shooter specialist, while a great leader Zaza is easily replaceble.

Atlanta Receives: #36, #52 overall
Minnesota ReceiveS: #27 overall
Reasoning: No player of value at 27 so I decided best move would be to grab a couple 2nd rounders which are unguaranteed contracts.

Atanta Receives: #60 overall, Hassan Whiteside
Sacramento Receives: #36 overall
Reasoning: Sacramento really wanted the pick so I was able to swing a great deal, the 60th pick was just a bonus, Whiteside is a high upside guy with a 7-7" wingspan and big time potential, would be a first rounder in this years draft, later sold the 60th pick for cash considerations to help pay the luxury tax.

Atlanta Signs Tayshaun Prince to the MLE(4 years/16 million)
Reasoning: Prince is a veteran who is looking for a title, he immediately takes the starting SF spot and gives great defense and 2nd option offense. A very modest contract as well. Prince, Outlaw, and Webster will bring what Marvin never could.

Player Salaries

Jeff Teague: $1,579,920
Andrew Goudelock: $473,000
Joe Johnson: $18,038,537
Martell Webster: $5,256,000
Tayshuan Prince: $4,000,000
Travis Outlaw: $7,000,000
Pape Sy: $788,872
Al Horford: $12,000,0000
Kenneth Faried: $1,237,500

1(15) Marcus Morris, SF, Kansas
2(32) Tobias Harris, SF, Tennessee
2(43) David Light, SG, Ohio State
2(60) Andrew Albicy, PG, France- Will stay Overseas

Player Transactions

Washington Receives: #3 pick overall
Atlanta Receives: Al Jefferson, #18 pick overall
Utah Receives: #6 pick overall, Josh Smith
Reasoning: Washington was able to use a 3 team trade to move up 3 spots only having to give up the 18th pick. Enes Kanter is the perfect low post banger the Wizards need beside Mcgee.

Washington Receives: #15 pick overall
Philadelphia Receives: #34 pick overall, Andray Blatche
Reasoning: With Enes Kanter on board Blatche would just be a distraction as a backup. Wizards get a high first round pick and shed Blatche's contract.

Wizards Receives: Nate Robinson, #43 pick overall
Thunder Recieves: Cash Considerations
Reasoning: A move the Wizards can make because of cap room. They get Nate Robinson an expiring but buy him out because he doesn't have a place on this roster, the 43rd pick(David Lighty) will be a key role player in the future.

Wizards Receive: #34 pick overall, Antawn Jamison
Cavs Receive: Rights to Emir Prezlich
Reasoning: Wizards get a high 2nd round pick and Jamison for free. Jamison is a huge 15 mil expiring who could become a huge trade chip come deadline, plus he is a nice veteran at the start of Kanter's career.

Wizards Receive: #60 pick overall(Andrew Albicy)
Hawks Receive: Cash Considerations
Reasoning: This is a nice pick for the future, Albicy could come over in a year or two. He's a super quick guard who can break down defenses in the mold of JJ Barrea.

Final Team Statement (#3):
"As all of you are very aware, the Sacramento Kings have just completed another trade. This trade involved two guys who are great in the locker room and really provide a lot on the court. The two guys I'm talking about, of course, are Francisco Garcia and Donte Greene. Each of these players has contributed to the team immensely in their own ways over the past few years. With Francisco, you have a guy who has been a stabilizing presence with his veteran leadership off the court and toughness on the court. With 'Te, you have a guy who brings a fun, light atmosphere to the locker room and he taps into that fun-loving 'Te on the court in the way he uses his athletic gifts.

However, with the signings of Marcus Thornton and Shane Battier, we felt we could not retain these young guys for the upcoming season. We would be doing them a disservice to sit them on the bench, watching their prime playing years waste away before their eyes, so when my good buddy Mikhail gave me a call on my purple diamond encrusted office phone telling me he was interested in making a trade, I just had to listen.

With this trade, there will be more time on the court freed up for Tyreke Evans to play alongside guys like Marcus, Beno and even Norris and Nolan as they progress. We definitely see Reke getting some time at the 3 in our small lineups. This move also ensures that our small forward of the future, Omri Casspi, will retain a large role with the team.

With that in mind, this trade was in part a financially-minded trade. With the recent signings and our young players coming up on the end of their rookie contracts, we will need to start talking extension with some of these guys. Jason Thompson, of course, will be our target at first. With JT, you have a guy who came into the league as a late lottery pick and really made an impact for us right away in his rookie season. The following season he came in with higher expectations and he really saw some of those sophomore struggles, but this past season we saw T-dawg really carve out a great role for himself as the 1st big man off the bench. He can back us up at center and power forward and he can even guard some small forwards in this league, and we really want to ensure that we have that financial flexibility to offer him the kind of money he deserves when that time comes. Later on down the road, of course, we will have to look into a new contract for guys like Omri and Tyreke as well and this trade offers us the opportunity to get a foundation for those financial talks right now.

Of course the possibility of bringing in a quality role player with the 2013 draft pick provides us with some great value in the future as well."
Update Official Team Statement (#2):
"We are very happy to announce a trio of recent free agent signings, Samuel Dalembert, Marcus Thornton and Shane Battier. Samuel and Marcus are both in-house signings, great guys we picked up in separate trades at various points last season--Sammy before the season and Marcus in the middle of the season. We feel the fact that both of these incredible players decided to stay shows they are committed to this organization just as much as this organization is committed to them. We are also happy to welcome Shane Battier to the Kings organization. Heading into the offseason, we really wanted to add four or five things to the team for the 2011 season, perimeter defense, veteran leadership, three-point shooting, a creator or a ball-handler and add a quality small forward. With one fell swoop, the we addressed four out of those fives needs. Shane is, of course, known for his defense as a two-time selection to the All-NBA defensive team* [sic], but he also provides precision shooting from behind the arc and brings a leadership quality and rugged toughness that will help this team. Shane may not have a huge part of the offensive game plan, but going into the offseason, we targeted him as an integral part of the future of this organization. We are happy to welcome Sammy, Macus and Shane to the organization, and we are excited for what next season holds for Sacramento and the Kings organization."

*Note: Battier has made the 2nd-team twice, but never the 1st team, but we can't exactly hold Geoff Petrie to have all of his facts.
Official Team Statement (#1):
The Sacramento Kings are currently prepared to extend a qualifying offer to Darnell Jackson as well as pick up the team option on both Pooh Jeter and Jermain Taylor pending any personnel moves. In light of the news that the Kings will be staying in Sacramento, the organization is also willing to take on salary for those teams attempting to get under the luxury tax.

All players and draft picks currently tied to the organization are available for acquisition.
