1. Oakland - JeMarcus Russell QB LSU - This pick seems to be one of two guys. Russell if they don't sign Carr or Culpepper (if he is released) or Johnson if they do. After missing out on Young last year, Davis takes the big arm.
2.Detroit - Gaines Adams DE Clemson - Joe Thomas is still the logical pick here. But after aquiring Foster from Denver a true pass rusher is at the top of Detroit's wish list. A trade with a team like Arizona would make a lot of sense for both teams.
3. Cleveland - Joe Thomas OT Wisconsin - Need a franchise tackle badly. Quinn is a possiblity as is Peterson, but Thomas might be the safest pick in the draft.
4. Tampa Bay - Calvin Johnson WR Georgia Tech - Best player in the draft and could go #1 if the Raiders unload Moss. Will make a great target for Garcia and a better compliment for Clayton.
5. Arizona - Jamaal Anderson DE Arkansas - I think the Cards could be a perfect trading partner for Detroit if they really want Thomas. If both he and Adams are gone I think Anderson becomes the guy.
6. Washington - Amobi Okoye DT Louisville - Could very well pass Branch as top DT in the draft. I think the Skins will move down here, this the only pick they have before round 5, but if they keep it look for a D-Lineman here.
7. Minnesota - LaRon Landry S LSU - Not really sure Landry is the 7th best player in the draft but he is among the top 15, fills a need for the Vikings and will provide the team with some needed leadership in the secondary.
8. Atlanta - Adrian Peterson RB Okalhoma - Dunn isn't getting any younger and Norwood isn't an every down back. You have to help Vick as much as possible. With all the extra picks the team now has, a move up to grab Calvin Johnson wouldn't shock me.
9. Miami - Brady Quinn QB Notre Dame - Cameron seems bent on wiping away all the Nick Saban mistakes and that could mean, and probably will mean cleaning out Culpepper as well.
10. Houston - Levi Brown OL Penn State - Not so sure Brown is a top 10 pick but he would give Schaub the one thing Carr never had...a left tackle.
11. San Francisco – Alan Branch DT Michigan – You run a 3-4 you need a nose tackle to eat up space and Branch might be the best one in the draft.
12. Buffalo – Leon Hall CB Michigan – Hall is one of the more overrated players in the draft I think. But the Bills can’t ignore the fact they keep losing good corners to free agency.
13. St. Louis – Adam Carriker DE Nebraska – Tough hardworking D-Lineman. Not fancy but Nebraska players are usually solid and the St.Louis D needs all the help it can get.
14. Carolina – Patrick Willis LB Ole Miss – Position has really taken a beating over the last few years. Injurys and free agent defections have taken their toll. Willis is the only true 1st round LB in this years class.
15. Pittsburgh – Michael Griffin – Lost Chris Hope last year to the Titans. Griffin just had a great workout at Texas' pro day and would be a nice compliment next to Polamalu.
16. Green Bay – Marshawn Lynch RB California – Lost Green to Houston and they need a power RB to take the pressure off the passing game with Favre coming back.
17. Jacksonville – Reggie Nelson FS Florida – The last of the top safeties available. Fills a position need for the Jags after letting Grant go and will provide flexablity in the secondary.
18. Cincinnati – Chris Houston CB Arkansas – Drafted Joe Jefferson in round one last year. Houston would be a excellent compliment to him on the other side.
19. Tennessee – Dwayne Bowe WR LSU – Not a flashy guy but one of the safer picks in the draft in my estimation and fills a need for the Titans in giving Young a big WR to throw to.
20. NY Giants – Darrelle Revis CB Pittsburgh – G-men have lots of needs OL and LB for starters. But a big cover corner like Revis would look very good in Giant blue.
21. Denver Broncos – Jarvis Moss DE Florida – Lost out on Kerney when he signed with Seattle and White when he signed with Detroit. Moss needs to add weight but has a frame to do so and a ton of talent to boot.
22. Dallas Cowboys – Dwayne Jarrett WR USC – It has been 10 years since Dallas draft an offensive player in round one. With both Glenn and Owens on the wrong side of 30, Jarrett seems like a strong possiblity.
23. Kansas City – Aaron Ross CB Texas – Ignored this position on draft day last year and paid for it. Ross is one of the better all around corners in the draft. Not flashy but will get the job done.
24. New England – Lawrence Timmons LB Florida St. – Needs coaching but FSU LB's have often done well in the pros and the Pats have a bunch of ageing guys and a serious lack of depth.
25. N.Y. Jets – Greg Olsen TE Miami – The one position the Jets simply do not have anyone at. Jolly was supposed to fill this role but it didn't happen.
26. Philadelphia – Ted Ginn Jr. WR Ohio State - Have aquired a few wideouts over the last few years, but they still lack a deep threat and Ginn can return kicks as well.
27. New Orleans – Eric Wright CB UNLV – Have drafted safeties in the second round the last 2 years, corner now becomes the spot light position of need.
28. New England - Brian Leonard HB Rutgers – Very popular pick among mock drafts for the Pats, but also very possible when you think they let Corey Dillon go and Tom Brady has basiclly ripped the organization for not keeping some of it better offensive players.
29. Baltimore - Joe Staley OT Central Michigan – Rough around the edges but a solid committed player who can develop into a starter in a year or so.
30. San Diego - Justin Blalock OG Texas - The best guard in the draft and won't last past the early portion of round 2 if he slips past the Bolts here. Mike Goff is serviceable at one guard spot and Chris Dielman is a free agant.
31. Chicago – Zach Miller TE Arizona St. – A need position for the Bears, if they want to stick with Grossman at QB they need to give him all the help they can.
32. Indianapolis – Jon Beason LB Miami - Lost Cato June in free agency and need depth and bodies on the defensive side of the ball.
2.Detroit - Gaines Adams DE Clemson - Joe Thomas is still the logical pick here. But after aquiring Foster from Denver a true pass rusher is at the top of Detroit's wish list. A trade with a team like Arizona would make a lot of sense for both teams.
