You guys are good. I just saw that and was going to make the post. RIP Amy, but sadly it's not really a surprise that she died due to all the drugs.

Say she had it coming, it was expected, etc.

Man I was a year off in the death pool. I thought she at least sort of cleaned up, but ah well. She was a pretty good musician though.

You haven't heard much about her in recent years so I figured she might have been better. Guess not.

Huh, can't say that I'm shocked or anything, but RIP nonetheless.

Maybe. I'd only heard one of her songs, but I guess that's because I never listen to the radio.

They tried to make her go to rehab, but she said, no, no, no.

Bound to happen. Also, great job on creating a thread on such a monumental event that will help sculpt the future for all of us... and not even wasting a breath on a crazy norwegian christian fundamentalist who has slaughtered 92 people (mostly teenagers) and counting. Good job!

RIP. Kind of sad to see someone my age die. Kind of scary too.

Am I the only one whoa thinks it's ironic her hit song was the I ain't going to rehab, and the reason she dies is likely because of just that?

Yes I think you are the only one.

Sad to hear. Very, very sad.

Always sad to see someone die young, but hey it's not like it's something tragic out of the blue, she teetered on the edge her whole life, can't be lucky forever. It might be awful of me to say but it's harder to be sympathetic when someone doesn't value life like they should.

Sucks she's dead but, can't say I feel bad or rly too much sympathy. You reap what you sow.

As someone who takes prescribed medication that some of these people are on when they OD (or are at least in the same grouping), I always say there's no such thing as an accidental overdose - you're either incompetant or ignorant, and as far as I'm concerned, it's +1 for Darwin.

It is 100% your responsibility to understand what you're putting into your body, and just because a doctor writes you a script doesn't mean it's okay to abuse it or not take it as prescribed.

And this is all assuming it was accidental, or even an OD to begin with.

Also, great job on creating a thread on such a monumental event that will help sculpt the future for all of us... and not even wasting a breath on a crazy norwegian christian fundamentalist who has slaughtered 92 people (mostly teenagers) and counting. Good job!

Might want to read the rules and then apply some critical thinking as to how easily a thread dedicated to "a crazy norwegian christian fundamentalist" killing a bunch of innocent people would turn into a religious discussion. You give us waaaaaay too much credit to think our responses would be limited to, "RIP, thoughts are with the victims' families." Hope you don't tip over off your pedestal though. If you broke your arm that way, I'm not sure you would be able to continue handing out soup to the homeless and mowing elderly people's lawns inbetween your internet postings. I just naturally assume you do that kind of stuff, since you're so caught up with the things that have an impact on others.

To be fair, it usually just turns out to that kind of circlejerk

That's not irony, it's foreshadowing.

edit: Irony is when you die from a drug OD after doing Disney theme songs.

Eh, there's like a page full of RIP's, it gets on Pg. 2 and someone goes, "This is why suchandsuch is blahblahblah," and then a different guy goes, "Well technically it's suchandsuch and blahblahblah," and then another guy yells out "IT'S HUMAN NATURE!!!" and then njx types is red saying "seriously."

Would it be ironic if she died from something not drug related?

Irony no longer has a definition. It's just become a convoluted misunderstanding of the words hypocritical, just, and coincidental.

Sure many people knew it would happen with her lifestyle and the way she looked, but I'm pretty down about it. It's really a shame she didn't do more. I liked her style a lot, and I was hoping that she would eventually overcome all of her issues to continue to make good music.

If you put a brown bag over her head. Or suffocated her with a pillow before the deed. She probably still had a stanky vag tough. *shivers*

I didnt even know she was even relevant in music, really. Only song I even recall was "Rehab", and I thought that song was horrible.

She seemed more famous for being a crazy burnout more so than a songstress.
