I'd like Derrick Locke, Deunta and O'Dowd. Plug O'Dowd in at left guard, move Kemo over to the right. Perfect. Then develop Williams as the next ball hawking safety. Locke could bring speed back to the backfield that we haven't seen since Parker was healthy.

I'd like Locke or Spann or the Bucs.

Lefeged to the Colts is just epic for both sides. He's really going to flourish there.
Freeny is a nice fit for the Phins as a pass rushing 3-4 OLB. I know people will say he's just a camp body, but I think he's got a shot to make that roster

What the heck happened to the Chargers, their usually HUGE players in UDFA's...

Ozzy
07-25-2011, 10:27 PM
"So far:

Bears:
Dom DeCicco (S, Pitt)
Corbin Bryant (DE, Northwestern)
Ricky Henry (OL, Nebraska) Great get, nasty aggressive guard that is an athletic player that plays with good aggression, he could have a shot at making the Bears
Alex Linnenkohl (OC, Oregon State)
Anthony Walters (DB, Delaware)

Bengals
Brian Lainhart (S, Kent State)

Bills
Zach Pinalto (TE, North Carolina) Great get, he will make the team I think, really like his pass catching potential
Sidney Glover (S, West Virginia)
Dominic Cook (S, Buffalo)

Broncos
Brandon Bing (CB, Rutgers)
Marshall Wiliams (WR, Wake Forest)
Mark Dell (WR, Michigan State)
Patrick Hill (FB, Miami)
Justin Jones (TE, Toledo)
Mario Fannin (RB, Auburn)
James Rogers (CB, Michigan) Really Michigan had cornerback play last year, how? haha

Browns
Carl Gettis (CB, Missouri)

Buccaneers
Nick Reveiz (LB, Tennessee)
Mike Coughlin (QB, Boise State) Boise has another QB? Wow possible Matt Cassell action? Doubt it

Cardinals
Davieun Curry-Chapman (WR, Northern Arizona)
Pat Devlin (QB, Delaware)
DJ Young (OL, Michigan State)
Kristofer O’Dowd (OL, USC) Injuries is why he dropped I guess, still the kid is elite when healthy, good sign

Chargers

Chiefs
Desmond Washington (CB, Auburn)

Colts
Joe Lefeged (S, Rutgers) Great get, Colts always pick good defensive backs and here is another one
Jake Kirkpatrick (C, TCU)
Chris Colasanti (LB, Penn State)
Mike McNeill (TE, Nebraska)

Cowboys
Mario Butler (CB, Cowboys)
Kevin Kowalski (OC, Toledo)
Chris Randle (CB, Utah State)
Jose Acuna (OL, Nevada)

Dolphins
Jonathan Freeny (DE, Rutgers)
Nic Grigsby (RB, Arizona)
Garrett Chisolm (OL USC)

Eagles
Graig Cooper (RB, Miami) Be interesting to see what he does, but doubt he sticks around, he is too weak in the hole and cannot break tackles, so much for all of that hype he had as a young prospect
Terrance Turner (WR, Indiana)
Cedric Thornton (DL, Southern Arkansas)
Martell Webb (TE, Michigan)

Falcons
Ryan Winterswyk (DE, Boise State) Kid should make the team, very underrated pass rusher
Noel Devine (RB, West Virginia)

49ers
Donovan Edwards (OL, Cal)
Ian Williams (DL, Notre Dame)
Chase Beeler (OC, Stanford) Jim knows the man, very good get and a very good center
DeMarcus Dobbs (DE, Georgia)

Giants
Jarriel King (OT, South Carolina) Liked him at South Carolina, and why not when he is a free agent signing that could turn out

Jaguars
Marc Schiechl (DE, Colorado School of Mines)
Matt Estrada (S, Northern Arizona)
Greg Ellingson (WR, Florida International)
DuJuan Harris (RB, Troy)
Scott Riddle (QB, Elon)
Kyle Miller (TE, Mount Union)
TJ Heath (CB, Jacksonville State)
Kevin Rutland (CB, Missouri)
Michael Lockley (LB, Florida Atlantic)
Brandon Harper (OL, Duke)

Jets
Josh Baker (TE, NW Missouri State)
Wayne Daniels (DE, TCU)

Lions
Preston Dial (TE, Alabama)
Quentin Davie (LB, Northwestern) Very productive linebacker, good signing, could make the team

Packers
Tori Gurley (WR, South Carolina) Damn Packers, always getting good players, Gurley has worlds of potential and could really breakout in the pros in the right system, huge kid and could be a big sleeper
Shaky Smithson (KR, Utah)
Sampson Genus (OC, South Florida)

Panthers
Kendric Burney (CB, North Carolina) Great pickup, he should make the team much like Munnerlyn did years back as a underafted free agent, very similar to him, not as fast but has better ball skills.
Ryan Pugh (OC, Auburn)
Adi Kunalic (K, Nebraska) Kickoff king, great pickup!
Byron Bell (OL, New Mexico State)
Nick Bellore (LB, Central Michigan) Another fine sign, he is a good linebacker

Patriots
Corey Woods (OT, Akron)
Jeremy Ross (WR/KR, Cal)
Alex Silvestro (DE, Rutgers)
Jeff Tarpinian (LB, Iowa)

Raiders

Rams
James Dockery (CB, Oregon State) Fine pickup, he has a lot of potential
Taylor Potts (QB, Texas Tech)

Ravens
Damien Berry (RB, Miami)
Justin Boren (OL, Ohio State) Very nice sign and will get the good line depth potential
Tim Barnes (OL, Missouri)
Chris Walker (DE, Tennessee)

Redskins
Will Hill (S, Florida) Many would say good sign, and I guess since they need safety talent, but the kid is a crazy underachiever

Saints
Deandre McDaniel (S, Clemson) Steal considering the kid is a beast and if he would have went out as a junior he would have been drafted pretty high, not sure why the drop, probably pass coverage skills but still he can play and is a fine tackler
Dexter Larimore (DL, Ohio State)
Isa Abdul-Quddus (S, Fordham)
John Chiles (WR, Texas) Great get, kid could be a solid receiver in the right system

Seahawks
Brett Osborne (OT, Harvard)
Jeron Johnson (S, Seahawks) Very good get, fine safety and should make the team
Ricardo Lockette (WR, Fort Valley State)
Scott Tolzien (QB, Wisconsin)
Ricky Thenarse (S, Nebraska)
Ladi Ajiboye (DT, USC)

Steelers
Weslye Saunders (TE, South Carolina) Yeah, that a way, huge tight end, should make the team, big time target and could be a star tight end, great organization to go too as well
Anthony Gray (DL, Southern Miss)

Texans
Bubba Bartlett (TE/FB, Carroll College)
Jeff Maehl (WR, Texans) Should make the team

Titans

Vikings
Devon Torrence (CB, Ohio State) The Vikings usually do a lot better in free agent signings, Torrence is ok but not that good of corner really, so so.
Andre Holmes (WR, Hillsdale)"

A couple of good ones for Dallas. Hell, Bailey may be their biggest get. He could certainly win the K job. I'm excited to see Leong out there, as I said in another thread, he's always been an underrated athlete and while it was Tech, 19 Tds is fantastic production. Hopefully he's healthy. Butler/Randle/Taplin-Ross is a decent crop of secondary additions. I wouldnt be shocked if Randle suprises a bit. He's another guy who was playing banged up. Given our thin secondary and thin O-Line, everyone we signed has a puncher's chance to make the roster.

M.O.T.H.

Gamecocks

Tori Gurley a Packer
Jarriel King a Giant
Wesyle Saunders a Steeler
Ladi Ajiboye a Seahawk
Garrett Chisolm a Dolphin

I wish Gurley landed with Dallas, but who wouldnt want to play WR for GB? He's def. got a shot at sticking there. Cobb/Gurley...I'm jealous.

Giants could always use depth along the O-Line. King is an excellent athlete for 6'5 330ish. haha. I like King more than I ever liked the overrated Jamon Meredith. Jarriel has all the tools. He's yet to put it all together, though. He's a nice ball of clay.

Saunders landed in a great spot as well. He's got talent, he's just an idiot, who's weight tends to fluxuate. If he's in shape, and keeps his head on straight, he can make the roster, perhaps as the 3rd TE.

I love the Seahawks picking up Ladi. I'm excited about this one. Ladi's straight line speed is pretty damn piss poor. But his quickness off the snap is excellent. When healthy, Ladi was an extremely explosive DT for SCAR. In a normal NFL year, I think he makes this team. But we'll have to see how things shake out. Should be a better pro than college player.

Garrett Chisolm is a good get for Miami. Garrett is just an extremely driven indivisual. Guy never stops working, turned himself into an All-American, after starting off as a walk-on. He's a another huge kid, who can add a lot of weight yet, if they want to keep him at G. Sadly, he's coming off of knee surgery...but Chisolm still possesses some nice potential. There's a spot in the league for him somewhere, if he comes back strong from injury.

I do like the landing spots for my boys, at least. Someone needs to pick up Dimarco.

In New England, at least one undrafted free agent always makes the team. This year, I think Jeff Tarpinian has a pretty good shot of being that guy - Tracy White is an unrestricted free agent and Tarpinian seems like a logical replacement. Kyle Hix is someone else who has physical tools and could maybe make the team considering tackles Matt Light and Quinn Ojinnaka are free agents. He'd probably compete with Steve Maneri. Zach Hurd is atop my wishlist right now.

Supposedly Maryland TE/OT Will Yeatman has agreed to a deal with New England. Big fan of this move, as Scarnecchia has had a lot of success with tight end conversions in the past. Nate Solder is next in line, but Tom Ashworth was one as well, and so was Steve Maneri, one of our reserve tackles. Oklahoma OT Eric Mensik is another TE conversion who could be a nice PS player for someone.

I'm going to be posting all of my Patriots snippets from the team boards in here in case anyone is interested!

Patriots sign Maryland TE Will Yeatman

Yeatman is 6'6" but weighs only 270 pounds, making him a candidate for the practice squad. He played tight end in college but projects as an offensive tackle in the NFL. The Patriots have historically shown interest in TE/OT conversions, notably Tom Ashworth, Steve Maneri, and Nate Solder. Yeatman was a college lacrosse player, which might endear him to head coach Bill Belichick.

Patriots sign Nevada DE Ryan Coulson

The Patriots have reportedly signed undrafted Nevada DE Ryan Coulson to a deal. Coulson recorded 55 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks last season for the Wolfpack. He measured in at 6'3" and 243 lbs. at his pro day. He was named a defensive team captain last year, and projects to try and make the transition from 4-3 defensive end to 3-4 outside linebacker.

Agreed. I think he will develop into a nice slot guy for the Bears. Johnny Knox, Hester, and Bennett are the top-three guys, but I don't see a reason why he can't be the 4th receiver (assuming they don't sign Sidney Rice) during his rookie year. 25 receptions, 450 yards, 3 TDs is my predicted production from him next year.

Seriously? No. Devlin is tall and can operate a short, rhythm passing game, but doesn't have a big arm or force the defnse to account for him at all. He's also making a huge leap in terms of level of competition, and his offense wasn't similar to an NFL offense. When he showed up very late to his pro day, it made me wonder whether or not he is responsible and accountable enough to make it. If it were not for the arm comment, I would say you were talking about Joe Flacco... I wouldn't consider Devlin tall, he's got decent size for an NFL QB, decent arm, decent mobility, and like you said, he's taking a leap in terms of competition and offensive system. Could he be a starter someday? Absolutely, but for most rookie QBs, this will be a wasted season as far as playing time goes.

Another signing for New England:

Patriots agree to terms with West Virginia LB Anthony Leonard

Leonard is an inside linebacker who also has some experience as a 4-3 strongside linebacker. His measurables (6'1", 254, 4.89) aren't anything special, but he had a productive senior season, with 70 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, and one sack. He is considered unlikely to make the final roster.

Very good developmental QB prospect. I like that signing quite a bit. From my final draft rankings:

Backed up Andy Dalton at TCU before transferring, then went on to dominate a lower level of competition. Has nice size and a good release. Very accurate passing against marginal talent.

Here are the Gophers I know so far:

-Adam Weber (QB) Denver Broncos
-Jon Hoese (FB) Green Bay Packers
-Dom Alford (OT) Cleveland Browns

Of the three I think Hoese has the best chance of making a roster, depending on what Green Bay does with their fullbacks.

If the Broncos trade Orton and don't sign a vet, Weber could have a good chance as well, although I don't think he's an NFL QB.

well, here's my little breakdown on the Rutgers players:

Lefeged to the Colts is magic. He's a huge steal. He can return for the Colts and be a good safety for them. Smart, solid tackler, big hitter. Healthy (know this is a big thing for Colts safeties)

Alex Silvestro to the pats: Another good fit I feel. He played DT for Rutgers and was damn good, one of my favorites last year. Hard worker, solid player in the trenches. Is a really good fit as a 3-4 DE and knowing Bill's connection to rutgers and Schiano, I've got a feeling he'll stick.

Jonathan Freeny to the phins: A good fit as a 3-4 OLB pass rusher. Just so damn inconsistant at Rutgers. I feel he fits better at 3-4 OLB then he did at 4-3 DE for us. He could stick, not too confident, but who knows? I think he could surprise.

Brandon Bing to the Broncos: he's a pretty good CB, decent balls skills, and another hard worker. Made up for lack of talent, but I don't think he stays however. Good kid to root for though

NO! I said Brandon won't!

Lefeged, I think most would agree he's got a good shot. Silvestro is a sleeper to make it. If I was a gambling man, I'd say Freeny doesn't, but might get a PS spot.

so there!

Don’t look now Patriots fans , but a funny thing happened in the middle of the work stoppage: the Patriots became Boston’s most championship-starved franchise. Thanks to the Boston Bruins (http://www.wealthmass.com/Sports-outdoors/NHL-jerseys-NHL-jersey-Hockey-Jerseys-Hockey-jerseys/Boston-Bruins-Jerseys/)‘ victory over the Vancouver Canucks (http://www.wealthmass.com/Sports-outdoors/NHL-jerseys-NHL-jersey-Hockey-Jerseys-Hockey-jerseys/Vancouver-Canucks-Nhl-Jerseys-Hockey-Jersey/)in the 2011 Stanley Cup championship, the Patriots have now gone longer without a title than any of Boston’s remaining primary sports franchises.

As free agency nears, thanks to the nfl lockout, the same questions remain about these Patriots. Will Matt Light be re-signed? Will Logan Mankins come back ? Are the patriots content to go with their current rotation of running backs and receivers, or does Belichick have something bigger planned in free agency?

Whatever the answers to those specifics – and the league remains shut down pending formalization of the new collective bargaining agreement – the bigger picture remains indisputable, no matter how high the Pats rank (No. 6) on the list of the 50 most valuable franchise in sports. That is just the business. With regard to the NFL , the Patriots are now far closer to the end than the beginning of the Brady-Belichick era, and replacing one – let alone both – is a daunting proposition.

In the interim, Belichick has draft picks to sign and roster issues to resolve, all during an abbreviated offseason.

For what it’s worth, in assessing the NFL as of today – before free agency, that is to say – many evaluators regard the Patriots as the team to competition (app:ds:competition) in the AFC. Such praise is certainly justified. And yet, given the enormous success the Patriots enjoyed during the first five years of the Belichick-Brady era, our standards have been set stupid high, the Patriots entering each and every season with words all but scribbled on their windshield with a bar of soap: Super Bowl (http://www.wealthmass.com/Sports-outdoors/Nfl-jerseys-Football-jersey-Jerseys-Wholesale/Green-Bay-Packers-Nfl-Jerseys/) or bust.

This year, in the wake of last season’s playoff failure, the Patriots may feel that pressure more greatly than ever before.

With a repeat of last year’s playoff performance, after all – and with something less impressive during the NFL (http://www.wealthmass.com/Sports-outdoors/Nfl-jerseys-Football-jersey-Jerseys-Wholesale/Green-Bay-Packers-Nfl-Jerseys/) regular season – we may be asking an altogether different question at this time next year.

Namely, whether the Belichick-Tom Brady era is all but over

Ollie Ogbu, DT, Indy

I'm excited about this, another talented Penn State DT that had a couple issues. Hopefully he'll work out better than Ed Johnson, from what I hear he's a better talent.

Scotty, I hope Lefeged's play exceeds your wildest dreams of how successful he can be in the NFL. Realistically, though, if he ends up starting this year (not out of the realm of possibility, especially with the way free agency is going), I just hope he can stay healthy, take good angles on ballcarriers, and hold his own in coverage.

I don't remember any off the field issues for Ogbu. He's more along the lines of Anthony Adams than Ed Johnson. The Colts are a great fit for him. He probably has the best chance of any of PSU's UDFAs in getting an NFL paycheck this year, practice squad or otherwise.

I think Lefeged will stick just for his ST ability. Schiano and Belichick are besties so my bet is that Bill has a good grip on what Silvestro will bring to the table. I think they both stick. Bing is a suprise signing to me so I doubt he makes it. Freeny has a decent chance but I'm not sure how he'll be in that defense.

I guess Locke and Devine will compete for kickoff returns along with a bunch of other guys. Locke's a 4.3-4.4 guy. I guess they are hoping something sticks.
