Noel Devine has walked out on the Eagles two days into camp, handed Andy Reid his pads and left today. He has been waived since that time.

Still waiting for zachsaints52 and K Train to apologize to me when I didn't have him in my Top 50 RBs and they seemed pretty upset :D

Reggie Bush's was MUCH better.

is that even debatable???

Duh! Of course it is.

I'd also like to add that Peyton Manning's was much better than Jevan Snead's.

Dang. People were hyping this kid up too.

Not a fan of runningbacks his size though. Never got on the wagon.

When he showed up at 160 LBs, teams should have (and did) ran away. The Eagles were smart to try him out, though. Nothing like a shot in the dark at a UDFA. It's not like they went after him and didn't go after others.

If you're talking about Julian Miller, I believe he's entering his third season as a rather productive starter for the Mountaineers.

You had to figure some teammates would get fired up about this report, though Miller's response is misdirected if it's aimed at you. He should really be asking Noel what he's thinking.

I wonder if/when Devine will elaborate on what happened; it'd be interesting to hear his side of the story. Even if he saw the writing on the wall and figured his chances of making the team were slim, he's done more damage by just quitting.

Attack you on the internet, or do you need to worry about Mountaineers fans jumping you while you're walking down the street?

No worries, just wanted to clarify.

If he's going to be mad at anyone though, it should be Noel for walking out on that opportunity.

Julian Miller started 25 games the last two seasons. Pretty sure back-ups don't do that.

I guess self-proclaimed experts don't have to watch defense...

I know Will Hill has got to think this dude is crazy.....He got called out by Deion saying "Will Hill can't drop any passes he has 5 kids"

Hell! what will Deion say now since he was a "mentor" for Devine at one point & time.

Not just a mentor. I believe Devine even lived with Deion for a short time prior to his commitment to WVU.

I looked up Will Hill, and he has 3 kids. All I have to say is that he's low life trash. He's 21 f*****g years old. Quit having sex if you're going to create more b*stards.

Sucks about Devine, guess the size of the NFL was just too much for him.

And Shane, you might want to put that backup DE on your radar.

Not just a mentor. I believe Devine even lived with Deion for a short time prior to his commitment to WVU.
He did but he then took Deion's car and flew back home.

I played with him for 3 years and knew him much longer than that. He went through more than any of you realize and has some personal demons that I don't think he ever took care of.

He never made the best decisions for as long as I knew him. Whether is was knocking all the chicks up, throwing dudes through walls, not caring about practice, drugs, etc.

It's a shame that this happened because he is my boy and I want him to do well but this does not shock me at all. If this is the end of the line for him, it's a fitting end.

SOunds to me like the kid had a mini-nervous breakdown. I wouldn't say his career is over yet. It hasn't even started.

I bet words were said or something to that effect at Eagles TC and he flipped.

Devine needs to keep his emotions in check and get his butt back on the football field.

Being in the NFL is his best job opportunity at the moment and he just needs to handle his business like a MAN.

It's not about him anymore, he's got mouths to feed.
Devine has NFL ability, but he's got to stop being his own biggest enemy.

Noel Devine is the textbook 3rd down back. If he isn't the next Brian Westbrook, he's at least his crazy twin.

Ronnie Brown wasn't on the team yet, he was basically competing for the 3rd RB spot with Derrick Locke, Eldra Buckley and Graig Cooper at the time. Was in a pretty good situation and he still walked out.

My opinion is that he was never held accountable for a tremendous practice ethic. Most highschool stars are allowed to coast, but I feel RichRod and Bill Stewart failed at instilling a drive and work-ethic necessary for Professional success.

Perhaps Devine approached this camp with the same carelessness he'd been allowed in the past? Unfortunately, instead of remaining the "star", this time he was 5th on the depth chart, and he couldn't handle it emotionally.

Just my $0.02 and I have no empirical basis for it.

Noel Devine is the textbook 3rd down back.

I disagree strongly. 3rd down backs have to block. I wouldn't really trust Devine to keep blitzing LBs off of my quarterback. He has the "pass-catching" part of the 3rd down back role down, but "blitz pickup" is just as important.
