"Ochocinco now gets an opportunity to play with an elite quarterback in this league for the first time in his career."

This was already discussed in the free agency thread. Apparently Palmer wasn't elite early on in his career.

Palmer was a great QB for a few seasons earlier in his career. He was never the same after his knee injury.

I think he was on the money with Desean, his impact on the Eagles, and love how he calls out Brett for being a total phony back in the day.

LOL at Jamie Dukes smiling. I don't like Dukes, but at least he's not a raving lunatic like Irvin is. Rich Eisen was right right about the contract situation with Jackson and it just seemed like Irvin didn't have a point.

I really don't have a problem with Irvin's argument because I understand what he's trying to say. The fact of the matter is that Irvin is dumb as rocks and can't put a sentence together. Still, I don't think he's that insane.

I would consider Carson Palmer to have played at an elite level for two years of his career, but overall is that really enough to call him an elite quarterback? I wouldn't even say his career was as good as Jay Cutler's.

What he said about the coaching and adaptability of Belichick and Reid was pretty accurate, though.

This will probably be the best offense Chad has played with since he entered the NFL. But that '05 and '06 Palmer was elite enough. He put the ball wherever he wanted on the field and defenses couldn't stop him. It was our historically laughable defense in '06 that prevented us from going to the play offs.

I'm going to doubt that Chad breaks any personal records with Tom Brady though. His 1440 yards in '07 are a lot, especially for a quarterback that will spread the ball around to 2 tight ends as well as his other receivers. And Chad isn't a good enough red zone target to get many more than his 10 touchdowns from 2003.

This is just Irvin pimping a fellow WR he always does.

Guys like #85,TO and Moss never do anything wrong it's always the QB,Coach or media bringing them down.

On the money DoughBoy. On the money. I'm the phone right now and scrolling through this thread and seeing you say that, it took a lot of will not to burst out laughing.

I honestly think he was coked up. His speech was accelerated, he was hyper, his eyes were cracked out, he wasn't making sense, he just seemed like he was under the influence.

But Irving was giving props to Belichick, Andy Reid, Vick and Young. Your point is inacurate.

2005-06 were the best years for Palmer. Other than those two years, he's been very ordinary. Aside from the knee, he's also had elbow issues.

I am surprised there is so much negativity towards Irvin. I have always liked him, deion, and Jamie Dukes.
