The legend of Rex continues to grow. I hope he tears it up somehow this year out of nowhere.

Rex has never been gun shy or lacking in confidence.

I think they should be testing Rex, I'm baked off my ass and I still don't think they'll win it.

Common theme lately seems to be people named Rex like to run their mouth about winning things and by that I mean 2 people.

The only thing Rex is going to 'win' them is the Andrew Luck sweepstakes.

Damn it, dare I root for the skins when they're not playing the giants this year? I've always had a soft spot in my heart for Sex Cannon and his Dragonz, but this is going to be weird.

When I first read "Rex says" I thought it was Rex Ryan saying that the Skins would win the division. Seriously did, seemed very strange for even Rex Ryan yet conceivable.

People don't pay attention to when he Ryan says the Jets will win the Superbowl anymore, so has to go much further to get attention.

Well, to be fair, not like he's going to say - "Our roster sucks and we'll be lucky to win 5 games this year."

But yeah.....no.

You guys love to try and act like you would not want your starting qb to think that he can win. You all are ridiculous. If you are suiting up to play in the NFL, even if all you play is special teams, and you do not believe that you can win going into a season before games have started than you need not get off your couch. This is the freaking NFL. These guys are playing at the highest level.

The Redskins will probably be alot better than people think. They upgraded their team dramatically on defense:

- Added a solid veteran safety (OJ Otogwe) in free agency
- Added one of the best pass rushers of this year's draft (Ryan Kerrigan) to play 34 OLB opposite Pro Bowler Brian Orakpo
- Added one of the top DTs in the league in free agency (Barry Cofield)
- Added one of the best young up-and-coming CBs in free agency (Josh Wilson)
- Added a great pass-rushing 34 DE who played well in that role for the Cowboys last year and is young and ascending (Stephen Bowen)
- Added another promising 34 DE through the draft (Jarvis Jenkins)

So those moves alone will vastly improve their defense and I expect it to be in the top 10 in points allowed and yardage allowed this year, easily.

They also improved their offense:

- Drafted one of the best WR sleepers of the draft (Leonard Hankerson)
- Added a handful of running backs through the draft, free agency, and trade in addition to decent players who were already on the roster and played well last year. At least one of these guys (Tim Hightower, Roy Helu, Evan Royster, Ryan Torain, some others) is going to be adequate enough in 2011 to be a classic 1500+ yard rusher in Shanhan's zone blocking scheme.

I figure through their additions they probably have the RB/WR positions set for the next 4-5 years. The only remaining question mark is the QB. Obviously, it doesnt' look good right now, but if Beck or Grossman somehow play at a competent level, this team could easily win more than 8 games, and maybe even as many as 11. If the QB, whoever it is, is miserable, then, yes, they will probably lose more than 10 games, but it won't be because of a crappy defense or crappy skill positions. They're a decent QB away from being a playoff team.

Even with a QB like Rex Grossman, a team with a great defense can make the playoffs, and even the Super Bowl. See: 2006 Chicago Bears.

The Washington Redskins do not have a great defense. But I'm not going to say anymore because I'm 99% sure you're trolling.

They didn't last year, however as another poster stated, they had one of the best off seasons of any team adding high character, young, and hungry players to suit their Defense. I don't expect them to be good, but this is the NFL, teams come out of nowhere every year to surprise everyone, so why not the Skins?

They have great talent up and down their defense (Brian Orakpo, Barry Cofield, OJ Otogwe, Laron Landry, London Fletcher, Deangelo Hall, Josh Wilson, Stephen Bowen). I think you'll be surprised by how well their defense plays this year.
