[B]A few predictions:

Ed Reed retires after winning the Super Bowl
The Rams win the West and make it all the way to the NFCCG, the Texans win the South and make it to the AFCCG

A fine haul for the Patriots.

26th spot in the draft means the Patriots won the division and won a wild card game I think. I will take that.

Super Bowl or bust, don't say things like that.

Brewster is a great pick and if we decide to take a safety Lester is exactly what we need, a ballhawking centerfielder. Jared Crick and Courtney Upshaw would be tough to pass on for yet another DB though.

Taking a RT with 2nd overall pick would be a waste. If the Bengals are picking that high they need a more impact player. CB, DE, QB, RB would all be better positions to take.

Some notes:

I'm not sure Tennessee would be comfortable drafting a guy with potential character flags considering what happened with Kenny Britt, Pac-Man Jones, and Vince Young recently. Blackmon has a DUI that could prevent him from being the pick there. How about Dre Kirkpatrick for that pick? Courtland Finnegan's play has fallen off and caused problems with the organization. If Blackmon checks out character-wise, I could see it though.

The Raiders don't need Quinton Coples. They have two up-and-coming defensive ends in Lamarr Houston and Matt Shaughnessy. Shaughnessy had seven sacks last season. I could maybe see a cornerback there, although Johnson and Routt are certainly capable, it will be difficult for the Raiders to run their preferred defense without a stockpile of man coverage guys. They also looked at Gaither so OT could work.

I would consider it a mistake if the Bills went with another DE/OLB conversion prospect. Paige-Moss has a very long way to go, they might want to look at an offensive lineman there. The line can't be ignored much longer. I think Riley Reiff is a bit of a reach though. Based on what I've seen of him, I'd rank him more towards the second round.

Robert Lester seems like a reach for the Patriots, but they seem to be keeping very close tabs on the safeties available and it looks like they view that as a top need, so it's possible. I love the Brewster pick. Personally, I'd be hoping for Jared Crick with the first pick - I'm operating under the assumption that the Patriots would prefer to run a 3-4 but may not be able to based on their personnel. If they go to a 4-3, it's not so necessary.

Dont'a Hightower is a huge reach that late - on the other hand, I see Trent Richardson as being available too late. I guess it's possible considering where Ingram went, but I could see Richardson going higher. How about Dallas? They were reportedly interested in trading up for Ingram last year and Marion Barber is out of town.

Raiders have no need for a DE. We have 2 young studs with Houston and Shaughnessy. A CB is more likely

I'd really appreciate it if you didn't put Mant'i Teo in the NFC North, especially behind Fairley and Suh.

Jared Crick is a fine pick. I think we'll be in the market for an OLB opposite of Clay, however. Bruce Irvin, Vinny Curry, and a slew of other names are available to fill that void.

Then again, I wouldn't be surprised to see us go BPA.

Nice pick but we are set, I see no reason not to beef up the frontline for Vick.

Since you guys didnt like the Raiders pick I changed it to Worthy and moved Coples back a few spots, then took out Bradham and gave the Jets DPM, he is a raw talent that Rex would love to work with.

By any chance could you tell me why Michael Floyd cannot sneak up in the tale end of your mock? Physical specimen although he comes with character concerns, but it is nothing a team cannot overlook. All it takes is for 1 to fall in love with him. You see Newton went #1 Overall with all his "baggage".

What baggage did Newton have? He got paid in college? Who didn't. Michael Floyd is not a top 5 WR talent in this draft and he has been in trouble with the law recently. Since the silly laptop incident Newton hasn't done anything to get in trouble with the law, has he?

I just asked a question & used an example, again like I said all it takes is for 1 team to fall in love.

Agreed.. I guess I didn't see him have Coples first, though he is my boy and I would welcome that, we shouldn't go there at 7.

Landry Jones
Gilmore

O and OSUgiants.. Floyd is a top 5 WR this year.

I definitely put him behind Jeffery, Blackmon, and Broyles. Fuller is also up there, and with a big year Sanu will jump ahead of him. WRs don't go round 1 very often to begin with and having the character issues that he does certainly doesn't help him.

thenewfeature06
08-16-2011, 08:21 PM
I agree with you to a point..Broyles is going to be a slot I feel like but could maybe turn into a Tone Holmes type.

Floyd has the size and skill set to be a 1. Jeffery and Blackmon are probably both better, I forgot about Fuller and Sanu who I both also think can be 1s.
Hopefully he has grown up because he has talent AND natural size.

Don't get me wrong he's good, but this years potential WR class is insane and Floyd's character coupled with the deep, talented class kills his stock. Someone will get a steal in Floyd in a late round though

Why the "EWwwww!"?

It's just the Browns are well set at TE already. Watson-E.Moore-J.Cameron!

OSUGiants17
08-16-2011, 11:12 PM
Ben Watson is old as ****, Evan Moore has proven nothing yet with his 1 TD in 2 seasons, and Cameron is a massive project and hasn't played in the NFL yet. Colt McCoy needs weapons. Hillis, Hardesty, and Marecic is a good young backfield, Greg Little will be a future #1 WR, Mohamed M is a solid #2, not to mention you can get a talented WR in a later round in this draft(i.e Floyd, Childs, Posey, Owusu, ect.). Egnew would be an immediate upgrade at TE and give McCoy a big target.

decastro over brewster, dennard, and richardson is just criminal activity by whoever is calling the shots in pittsburgh if that happened.

mendenhalls deal is nearly up, im not sure where he ranks in priority between him, timmons, troy, and wallace so richardson would be a badass pick there for the steelers.

dennard is everything i love in a corner, and the steelers have 1 starting caliber corner and 6 rotational guys and NBs...love me some curtis brown but the secondary has been ignored for too long now and its catching up with them.

brewster imo could be a better center than pouncey....ideally they would put brewster at C and pouncey at LG and let them make magic on turf, but even the other way around would just be delightful

He's 30. Old, but not ridiculously so.

Yes stop exaggerating. He's headed into his 8th season at 30yrs old. He's always been a freak athletically, so he's still an above average athlete for the position. Moore has arguably been the best player in camp so far and was just resigned. Cameron was just drafted in the 4th and is also an athletic freak who they'll develop.

There is no guarantee Little will be the future #1, at this point he's been outpaced by an undrafted guy. And Momass is not a solid #2. Soooo nice try but get that ******* TE out of there =)
