Browns are gonna be missing a whole bunch of starters due to minor injuries and missing practice in this game - and the Eagles will have a chip on their shoulder after the debacle in Pittsburgh, so it probably wont be pretty even though the Browns have looked very good this preseason so far. No Cribbs, Massaquoi, Watson, Steinbach, maybe Hillis but probably very little of him, no Gocong, Fujita, TJ Ward, or Usama Young.

So this will be our starting defense thursday most likely:

DE-Jayme Mitchell
DT-Phil Taylor (R)
DT-Ahytba Rubin
DE-Jabaal Sheard (R)
SLB-Brian Smith (R)
MLB-D'Qwell Jackson
WLB-Kaluka Maiava
LCB-Joe Haden
RCB-Sheldon Brown
FS-Mike Adams
SS-Ray Ventrone

an undrafted rookie free agent at SLB, a special teams guy who should never be on the field for defense at SS, and our 3rd safety at FS, though Adams is okay. Maiava isn't bad at least, and Jackson has been a monster so far at MLB in a 4-3, these guys held their own against the Lions last week at least.

He looks pretty good. Looks comfortable and poised. He had a nice pass to AJ Green called back because Green couldn't keep his feet in bounds. Bernard Scott looks great right now. Good speed and elusiveness.

Does he look calmer in the pocket than the previous two games? Or is he still running around like a maniac just completing passes now?

Well obviously...but comparing him to others playing in the preseason...he looks good. There are many Qbs in this league, that fail to even make reads...tunnel vision all day. Beck at least has this part of the game down. He shows really good awareness out there. A good football IQ, coupled with the game awareness/attentiveness to properly go through progressions...Yeah, even if he sucks as a starter...I'd welcome a player like him as a #2 for sure. The guy is showing why the scouts liked him so much in the first place. Yes, it's preseason...but these are the things you like to see and what you really should be looking for, with these Qbs.

lol. The Cillian Murphy one is actually pretty popular...but apparently people are split on it. You either see it, or you dont.

As for something else...I'm a preseason fan, but after the third game...I've pretty much had my fill. I wish they'd just make it three and move the season up a week. You'd just have to shift PT around and what not, for the youthful guys trying to catch on. This two preseason / add two regular season games...sounds like a load of BS to me, however. I wouldnt like that at all...give the youngins at least a little game time to show what they can do. Plus, I really dont want to see an additional two regular season games. Three sounds like a good number to me. Either that, or just leave it as is.

I wonder how many people are still on the over hyped John Beck bandwagon? When he actually played a real defense(unlike last week) he struggled. But when the 2nd/3rd teams came in he started to put together a nice drive. He cant handle a starting job.

Geez, how bad is the Carolina's front office? They gave up a 1st rounder to move up in the 2nd round to get Everrete Brown, who's looked like crap his first 3 years in the league and has done nothing in TC or Preseason? Same with Armanti Edwards as well.

No wonder why they're struggling. Wasted picks, high draft picks for terrbile players.

According to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, rookie receivers Greg Salas and Austin Pettis are both on the roster bubble.
Pettis was a third-round pick and Salas a fourth, so it would be a mild surprise if either were waived at final cuts. The Rams are deep at wideout, however, with Danario Alexander healthy at the moment and Mardy Gilyard coming on quickly as a special teamer. Pettis has been a complete non-factor through two preseason games. Salas had an ugly drop in the last exhibition, and is running with the third- and fourth-team offenses.

I got this off of Rotoworld and found it interesting.

It's not really a big deal to play these two games that close. Most, if not all, of the starters wont even make an appearance in the last game, as usual. The third game is a dress rehearsal, the fourth game is big for the younger guys and the roster bubble guys. Not a big deal at all.

I think Dexter Mccluster is going to have a much bigger impact for the Chiefs now that they have stopped trying to make him a WR.

He has really flashed at times this preseason as a RB both running and catching.

I have also been impressed with his willingness to block.

More times then not he gets put on his butt but at 5'8 170 that is to be expected.

Larry Johnson was 6'1 235 and wasn't blocking nobody.

I think everyone smelled blood after last season. Colts were ripe for the picking then, thank Jacksonville and Houston for late season collapses.
