Matchup i am watching this week is Defense vs Cam Newton. Bengals have a history of not playing well vs. Rookie QBs and Mobile QBs.

Would be nice to see Dalton again to improve this week and lead a couple of nice drives.

Some first Half notes

First game I have seen yet

The Good

AJ Green - He is going to be a great player. He is beating the crap out of gamble tonight. He has speed, hands, and drive.

Simpson- Not many catches his way so far...but he is there are every play. He is laying blocks and really doing a great job out there...he is like a passive buff.

Clint Boling - This guy needs to take over for Livings. He is definantly trying to get that starting job.

Manny Lawson - As I am writing this he just got the Fumble Recovery, however I was putting him up here already. He is all over the place.

Defense in general - They have showed up today...only really being beat a few times on Cam Newton runs.

The Cincy Backfield - Benson is running on all cylinders and Scott is running even better than him! Pressley is an impressive Fullback as well.


The Bad

Andy Dalton

He is starting to look better. His TD throw was really nice but he is still making alot of mistakes. He is a rookie though so makes sense.

Nate Livings - He just sucks.

Some additional thoughts

AJ Green is tearing up the first string secondary tonight. Heck so is Gresham!

maualuga looks good in the middle.

nice FG by Nugent, and Huber is solid and punting as usual.

Refs are lousy...3 bad calls against the Bengals.

The Bengals needed this badly. Giving the Young Players some confedence. Dalton looked very good tonight. He keeps getting better and better each game.

Good stuff striped...how good or bad has newton looked on the other side?

For the most part I thought newton looked pretty decent. I can actually see a future in the NFL for him. The Carolina Offensive Line wasnt really helping him much but Newton did make some good choices. Dalton looked alot better than Newton though...part of that has to do with AJ Green however it also seemed the Bengals secondary wasnt going to give Newton many opportunities. Manny Lawson, and Maualuga were in Newtons face multiple times as well. TE got the majority of Newtons passes and I think the coverage had alot to do with that. On top of all that the only person on Carolina running the ball was Newton. Stewart looked horrible and Hall was ok in minimal possessions.

The worst player of this game though was Gamble...he was beaten multiple times by Green...once for a TD and another two that would have been TD's if Dalton didnt overthrow Green both times.
