Torn ACL :(

This really sucks. I thought he was ready this year to become an elite defensive back in this league. Huge blow for the Chieftans. Thoughts and prayers with vidae and boe.

Hate to see a good player get hurt, but this is good news from a Raiders fan standpoint. Castillo from the Chargers is also hurt and will likely miss a good amount of time, so there's 2 keys players hurt for the AFC West. I feel the division is there for the Raiders taking, but will they step up? If they don't San Diego should take the division pretty easily

I like Brown as a FS much more than Giordano. But it sounds like there was a lot more going on than just playing ability. Brown sounded like he expected the starting job, but when the Raiders re-signed Huff, Brown fell slighted and played below his level.

Forget Robert Ayers. I did my job pimping him into the first round.

I failed to build proper hype for Denarius Moore (not for lack of trying) and he fell in the draft. However, I have a feeling he'll start making a name for himself after he catches two TDs tonight. And then my fantasy team will profit! Muahahahaha!

I truly doubt Chiefs go from 10-6 to #1 overall because of Moeaki's and Eric Berry's injury. They still have Charles and Jones to go with Cassell and Bowe. Defense will have problems but they'll fall into some wins.

im pretty sure that play that if Fred Jackson would have broken 1 tackle, he wouldve been in the open field

So blocking Berry = fred Jackson goes in for a TD

Berry seen him coming. The gif cuts off his head but he does see him coming. It was perfectly legal but totally unfortunate.

What's ridiculous is that Berry actually injured his knee earlier when he planted wrong. He sat out a couple plays and was put back on the field.

Totally sucks Berry was going to overtake Polamalu and Reed this year as the best S in the NFL. I'd be just as pissed if Marcell Dareus went down.

This. I'm a fan of Stevie Johnson as a player, but vidae is entirely right by saying that it was unnecessary in the context of the play. I went back and watched it a few times and Johnson had no reason to go low whatsoever, he could have earholed the living hell out of Berry and he would have been fine. It's unfortunate, because Berry was on his way to being an elite player, but these things do happen. I really thought the Chiefs were poised to take that division cleanly too.

Good question. If I had to guess I'd say that Berry said he was ok, that it was just a cramp, and that he was fine to go back in.

The trainers/medical staff would not have let him go back in if they knew he had torn something, or even sprained something.

The only reason people are making a deal out of this is because Berry got hurt. Cut blocks happen in every single game, each and every week.

However, I do get where Chiefs fans are coming from, as I'd be the same way if someone like Dareus got hurt on a similar play. Yes, cut blocks are legal, but perhaps in that situation, a regular block would have been suffice. But who am I to judge. Certainly Stevie Johnson knows a bit more about run blocking in the NFL than I do.

A terrible decision by the Chiefs' training staff certainly didn't help the situation.
Also, after re-watching the video.. Berry saw Johnson coming. He put his hand down in an attempt to avoid contact. He could have:
a.) tried to push Johnson down to the ground (as defenders are taught to do) or
b.) hurdled Johnson

1. There are no other receivers.

2. There are no other receivers.

3. He really didn't do that today or last week. The passing offense is terribly designed and should do a better job helping the other "receivers" get open rather than default to terribly designed screen passes when they can't get open on their own (which is always).
