Another Winnable Game for the Bengals.

From a Broncos fan perspective:
The Raiders stuck with the tried-and-true approach to stopping the current version of the Broncos' offense: play physical up front, pressure Orton and cover the short stuff. You can cheat a bit (in fact, a lot) because Orton can't escape the pocket or run to pick up yards. It seems to me your tough front 7 is perfectly capable of implementing this plan.
Offensively, the Bengals need to run the ball effectively to create options on 2nd and 3rd down. The new look Denver D is much more effective when they can focus on rushing the passer. The Raiders just avoided passing (as much as that is possible) and tended to go for short drops / quick passes even in long yardage situations. Not surprisingly, Campbell's final numbers were pretty ugly.
The X-factor is those unforced Orton errors in the red zone or crunch time. They absolutely killed us against the Raiders. Another showing like that and you guys will definitely pocket the W.

Broncos coming off a short week and looking Banged up hopefully the Bengals can take advantage of it. Andy Dalton looks like he will start Sunday.

I do hope the Bengals can build off of last week and come out with a solid game on both sides of the ball this week. With all the pressure thats being put on Orton from the fans it will either cause him to crumble and play terrible or he will be spot on and light up the box score. I hope he folds like a cheap lawn chair. As much as I hate to see players get hurt I'm actually glad that Carlos Dunlap will get the start with Geathers being injured. If the corners can have a better then average day covering Denver's sub-par wideouts Orton should spend a lot of time on his back with Johnson and Dunlap coming off the edges.
On offense the Bengals should have a really good day. Keep in mind Denver had one of the worst defenses in football last year in both aspects of the game. Of course I'd be happy if Dalton only threw the ball about 12-15 times due to the running game having a huge day.

Coming out flat in the 1st half is the reason we lost this game.

Is Shipley out for the year?

Is Shipley out for the year?
I think so.
Anyways, a tough fought hard lose. It's a shame that our offense couldn't get the win after 2 tries at the end of the game. Both sides of the ball have their issues, but I'm loving the young guys on this team.
Dalton is so exciting. I don't know if I'm just ruined by Palmer's constant statue imitation that he did in the pocket for the last 5 years, but I loooove watching Dalton try to buy some time. Even when it's not always successful, it's just awesome to see him put in that extra effort and show his desire to make a play.
I think Gruden is on to something here. Despite losing today, I'm really excited about this offense (and the team as a whole).

Is Shipley out for the year?
Yep, and being a totally unbiased, neutral observer who loves football and has watched more film, games than almost anyone here, I consider that hit on him 100% cheap.
Shipley was blind to the hit, just catching and turning. Those are cheap, free shots.
We often see guys lit up, for ESPN's "Jacked Up". Dunta Robinson and James Harrison go for kill shots.
Most guys make hard, strong, clean tackless between the knees and the neck.
Whoever that Bronco was dove forward right into Shipley's leg, which is always going to either break the leg or rip the ACL. I cringed immediately and refused to watch the replays.
These hits can be prevented.
The torn ACL of Shipley's Texas Longhorn teammate yesterday Jamaal Charles is one of those things that happen. But the one on Shipley? I would penalize those 15 yards, eject players, and suspend them for 4 games the first one, a season the second one, and permanent ban if the same player is stupid and dirty enough to do it again.
We don't need to see starters taken out with dirty (or wreckless) hits.
I feel terrible for him, and Bengal Nation.

That sucks about Shipley, I did not see the hit but did the defender dive head first using his helmet as the means to make the tackle? I wonder what impact would be made if more players tried to form tackle rather than go for the big hit and miss. Especially with all the short passes/screens etc. I think a noticeable percentage of the offensive yards gained by teams is due to **** tackling.

Was trying to find a video of the hit but I can't find it. If I remember correctly and when you are a fan of a player and see him get hit you might see things that didnt happen, but I believe I recall the player taking a low helmet first tackle into Ships leg. The helmet itself made impact into his leg and Ship went down.
