Shane, for that number one prospect I must say the following:

You are a real hooker and I will slap you in public.

September 21st is tomorrow, ya'll.

I love Rainey, but Brantley? C'mon, just because Scott tied himself to that sinking ship doesn't mean you have to JBond!

Honestly, I didn't see Brantley make one throw in the UT game the you and I couldn't have made.

Honestly, I didn't see Brantley make one throw in the UT game the you and I couldn't have made.

He has the physical tools to be at least an NFL back-up with solid mobility and enough of an arm to throw tight spirals to the middle of the field. Brantley showcased these tools against Tennessee in a big SEC game, throwing for 213 yards and 2 touchdowns with no interceptions.

Rainey had 108 yards rushing and 104 yards receiving against the Vols, including a key 83 yard catch on a dump-off from John Brantley that resulted in a touchdown.

213 passing yards for Brantly minus the 104 receiving yards from dumpoffs to Rainey equals 109 yards passing by Brantley to non-Rainey receivers. Since when is dumping off to your RB showcasing enough arm strength to throw tight spirals to the middle of the field? Trey Burton and Jeff Demps were the next two leading receivers. A grand total of 3 receptions were made by UF WR's.

I get that he's being coached by Weis, and that maybe in film he's shown improvements in his footwork and other mechanics, but is slight progression really making the scouting community all abuzz? Why is a guy coming off that weak of a game, who is projected as a possible UDFA and NFL backup, on the hot list?

I love Russell Wilson as a college QB, but he's Seneca Walace at the next level... Maybe Colt McCoy.

I let it be known he is a UDFA, but there is a world of difference between last year and this year. Does it mean he'll be in the NFL? Nope. Does it mean he will be noticed by scouts? You bet. That is the goal of the article to show those ten players.

When is "too short" for a RB going to go away? More and more of the league's better backs are starting to come in at 5'10 or less. I've never thought that it's much of an issue, but now it's starting to seem silly to even think it. Who wouldn't take Ray Rice or MJD right now?

I agree. I can understand not wanting to focus on the negatives, but I'm sure there is more than one guy whose stock is taking a hit any given week.

In terms of just a prospect hot list for the 2012 draft.....these names make sense, but I would add these guys as well.

Lamar Miller RS SOPH RB Miami FL- Could easily be the 2nd RB taken in the draft, having a real breakout year and showing off all of his ability more than he has in seasons past.

Dwight Jones SR WR UNC- Very impressive physical athlete, and outside of the arguably the top four receivers in the draft with Jeffery, Floyd, Blackmon and Fuller, Jones might fit in right after them along with Owusu, Broyles, Wright and Childs. Fast rising prospect that is for sure.

Dwayne Allen RS JR TE Clemson- After this past weeks game, not sure how anyone could not see his talent. Not a great blocker but can really high point and go get the ball in the air as a pass catching tight end. Great athlete, absolutely elite and should be the 1st tight end taken in the 2012 draft.

Tyler Eifert JR TE Notre Dame- Elite pass catching tight end, has great hands, runs smooth routes and is effortless catching the ball. Might not come out early but if he does he could easily be one of the top four tight ends taken in the draft.

Brandon Washington JR OG Miami FL- Very impressive player, can play guard or tackle. Big time athlete, strong, thick and carries his weight well, is not out of shape and is an aggressive blocker.

Brandon Thompson SR DT Clemson- Shooting up the chart in my book, great quickness off the ball, makes plays in the backfield and can get penetration as well as any defensive tackle. Could play a DE in a 3/4 or a DT in a 4/3 I feel. Very solid prospect who is outplaying a lot of defensive tackles around the country.

said this for years now...slightly worse athlete, slightly better passer than seneca

transferring to a team that made scott tolzien look good doesnt change any of that

I love me so Gators in your write ups, woot.Rainey should be a fine RB or return specialist in the NFL.Brantley I'm not sure if he is NFL quality starter like the OP said a good solid back up.Driskel will be the next good QB end of the season.
