Big game for Rutgers to see where we're really at for the year. A win against Pitt will give us fans a decent idea of what to expect from the team moving on.

You'd know a lot about that this year as well. I wasn't expecting much from Rutgers anyway this year so I won't exactly be dissapointed if we only get 6 or 7 wins when we're done.

Connor Shaw better not look anything like he did in week one. Is it so much to ask for a competent QB? Garcia was the best we've had in decades, and he obviously couldnt sustain his level of play. Sigh. On to to the next one.

it just isn't gonna happen. the bright side of things is brantley is expected back by the uga game, so if we get past auburn, and brantley comes back full strength for uga and scar, we get a rematch with bama or lsu in the sec cg.

They would. Say they are in the Pac this year. Loss to Oregon to Stanford easy.

RealityCheck
10-08-2011, 12:34 AM
I really don't see Stanford beating Boise. Moore and his folks would outscore them with ease. Maybe Oregon, maybe. But still, BSU beat them twice in the past few years.

IMO only Bama, LSU and OU could beat Boise right now.

49erNation85
10-08-2011, 01:46 AM
Moore = very late fist or early second round draft pick!

I agree realitycheck. BSU could easily run in the pack 12 after Moore leaves I'm not sure unless they get a better QB.

SickwithIt1010
10-08-2011, 03:33 AM
They would. Say they are in the Pac this year. Loss to Oregon to Stanford easy.

They would play with Stanford no problem, say type of football and Boise could score with them.

They have proven they can beat oregon, and they have also proved that they can SMACK oregon. Oregon didnt even belong on the same field as them in their last match up. Coach Pete at BSU is a duck killer my man.

niel89
10-08-2011, 03:37 AM
Im not so sure that Boise would just roll Stanford. I think its a good game but its not an easy win by a long stretch. The Stanford offense is no slouch and can put up points also. If they played 10 games neither team would win more than 6 of them.

Lol at Moore as a late 1st/2nd. The guy just doesn't have the tools.

M.O.T.H.
10-08-2011, 07:34 AM
I wish I had the SEC Network. ESPN 3 again for me. :(

What makes things worse is that Melvin Ingram probably isnt even playing today.

RealityCheck
10-08-2011, 07:38 AM
I'd love to see Moore get drafted early, but that won't happen. He'll probably end up in the 4th or the 5th, still I believe he'll be a solid NFL starter one day.

You don't want a 5'11" version of Ken Dorsey?

Matthew Jones

Players I'll be keeping a close eye on during the Oklahoma/Texas game:

Oklahoma QB Landry Jones* (#12)

Oklahoma WR Ryan Broyles (#85)

Oklahoma LB Ronnell Lewis* (#56)

Texas DT Kheeston Randall (#91)

Texas LB Emmanuel Acho* (#18)

Texas LB Keenan Robinson* (#1)

Anyone else I should be looking out for? How is Alex Okafor playing this season?

nrk
10-08-2011, 11:09 AM
Kenny Stills and Dominac Whaley for Oklahoma
McCoy and Shipley 2.0 for Texas

Matthew Jones
10-08-2011, 11:12 AM
Ryan Broyles gets things off on the right note. Randall was completely handled on that play.

Matthew Jones
10-08-2011, 11:13 AM
There's Randall with a nice tackle for loss. Okafor had a nice one on a stretch on this drive as well.

Well that was an incrediby gimmicky drive. SCAR scores, though.

First they were using the Wild Cat for a good 4 straight plays and then they were using a formation with three down lineman, an offset TE, and the two tackles split out wide. WTF was that?

To be honest, I'd rather see all these teams explode and have Boise and GT in the NCG. That would be one hell of a game.

Think Boise vs. OU in Fiesta 2006 Part II.

I'd love to see Boise get a shot, but I just keep my mouth shut about that so as not to start trouble...

Boise/Stanford would be my personal wet dream scenario. Either Boise or Andrew Luck would be coming away a champion. So awesome...

But I'd settle for LSU/Bama against any of Wisconsin, Stanford, Boise, or Clemson.

I just don't need to see any more Championship games where an SEC team stomps a Big 12ish team in the nuts for 4 hours.

Man, Lattimore is gonna get run into the ground this season and next. He's gonna have a lot of tread on his tires by the time he gets to the NFL.

He only had 22 carries today. Spurrier has been resting him more these last three weeks. That may just be because we have injuries along the line and its been tougher to run, but still...he hasnt been working him overboard, lately. And if today is any indication, Connor Shaw will help with the over dependability on Lattimore. Shaw is going to get a **** ton of designed runs and Spurrier still wants to be a pass first playcaller, so if Shaw shows he's up to the task, he's going to get called on, a lot. Lattimore was an afterthought today.

I don't know. Watching him play Notre Dame was especially terrible. Almost every throw looked like a punt. If the Notre Dame defensive backs has even the slightest ability to defend the jump ball they would have won by 20 points and Robinson would have had about 150 yards passing with 6 picks.

Luck is just... adjective.

niel89
10-08-2011, 11:43 PM
Andrew Luck was nasty today. Had 3 tds but had 2 passes barely stopped at the 1. His INT was a perfect ball that Owusu just bounced off his hands and went straight to the db, not even his fault.

What is really impressing me is he has now added a good hurry up element to his game. He knows when to push the offense when the defense is slow.

He is fully calling his own plays on some drives also. On one specific drive, they would start out in a five wide with 3 TEs split right and a RB wide left and a WR in the slot to the left, and then he would look over the defense and then shift into what ever formation was best or just work out of a 5 wide shotgun. The 3 TEs give the offense incredible flexibility because they can go from all split out to shifted into a power formation.

Luck is getting better. I fully believe that he could work as his own OC if he needed to. Its not a physical or mechanical development, but he is just using his brain more and more to his advantage on the field.

He also threw a ******* rocket for a TD down the seam. And his mobility is a huge weapon.

He's just... adjective.

My question: when are all these undefeateds gonna get picked off?

Off the top of my head:

Bama, LSU, Boise, Wiscy, Illinois, Clemson, Oklahoma, Stanford... There's usually not this many left this late - right?

Luck was amazing yet again, for sure. Both of his INTs this year were on tipped or dropped passes, so I don't hold those against him.

His pocket mobility is just beautiful. He just knows how to step around a rusher by like a foot and get the ball off. Comfortable with bodies around the pocket.

He really throws it well on the run too.

I think it's pretty normal.

Illinois plays Michigan and Wisconsin and all three play Ohio State. Wisconsin might come out undefeated, but that's a really tough schedule.

Georgia Tech plays Clemson, Miami, VT, and UGA. Clemson still has to play GT and South Carolina.

SMU might be a threat to Houston, but it looks like pretty smooth sailing all the way up to the CUSA Championship.

K-State, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State all have to play each other still. The Oklahoma teams also have to deal with Baylor.

Stanford still has a really tough schedule with USC, Oregon, and Notre Dame.

Alabama and LSU still have to play each other in a few weeks.

Boise has to play TCU, but they should go undefeated.

**** is going to hit the fan on Nov 5th. I'm thinking we'll end up with 3 undefeateds when the bowls come around.

if we lost to Tech, I'd have likely died tonight.
I'm keeping my eye on Tannehill for the Redskins this year but man does the Aggie defence look terrible. Can they stop anybody in the 2nd half?

There should be a lot of fired coaches in the Pac12 this year, starting with Mike Stoops.

Arizona isn't a powerhouse, but he's had 8 years and the best he can do is 8-5 and a win in the Las Vegas Bowl.

Can't wait to see AZ St vs Oregon...I have really come to despise Oregon. I think they are a soft team as shown by LSU when they manhandled them. Osweiler has been very good his first year starting for the Sun Devils.

Osweiler is one of my favorites for the top QB in 2013. He's a little rough around the edges right now still, but he's shown some flashes. He has good, borderline great arm strength and surprisingly decent athleticism for a guy that tall and lanky.

I'm not sure there's a good comparison for him. I've heard Joe Flacco suggested, but even that's a little bit of a stretch.

Drew Bledsoe but without the concrete shoes? Poor man's Big Ben?

I think he moves better than people think, he was a former basketball recruit for Gonzaga. Right now a poor man's Big Ben would be the best comparison although I think Osweiler can move a little better than him, he also has 3 inches on Big Ben which is crazy to think about.

Eh, he's much smoother even beyond his footwork than someone like Bledsoe or Derek Anderson I think. Similar body type but much smoother.

Ben is much thicker.

It's not as hilarious as Texas losing to Iowa State in Texas last year, or that team they fielded last weekend. ^_^
