View Full Version : Darwin Walker info?

I've heard rumors that the eagles are shopping DT darwin walker. Since the bills are potentialy dealing spikes to the eagles, and need a DT, I could see a walker for spikes deal happening. So, can someone give me info on him?

First of all, is he a UT or NT? The bills need a cover2 NT to compliment their two UT's. With 6 sacks last year Walker seems like a good fit for the cover2, but is he big ennough to play NT at under 300 lbs? How is he against the run?

And of course, why are the eagles shopping him? Surplus at the position? Bad attitude? Any help would be apreciated?

And finaly, would Spikes for Walker be a fair deal?

Wlker is a UT, he doesn't have the size or run-stuffing ability that is needed to be a successful 2 gap NT. He is more successful when he is able to play a one gap technique and rush the QB. We are shopping him becuase we have 7 DTs that would be able to make our roster, so it is a surplus at the position. And from what I last heard about Spikes, I think it would not be a good deal straight up for the Bills. They would need at least a late round pick in order for this trade to be fair.

Walker is a good pass-rusher, but he is not good at all vs. the run. He isn't capable of playing nose tackle. He often gets manhandled by one blocker, two is a sure thing for him to be taken out of the play completely.

Well, you are goiing to find out a lot more about him, he was just traded to your team. He is a solid player, but nothing special.
