I think FIU vs. Arkansas State will actually be a fun game to watch.

I'm going to the UCF-UAB game on Thursday. I don't imagine it will be that great of a game so I only have two wishes. 1). A Knights victory and 2). My wife and I don't get stabbed at Legion Field. Anyone else going to any exciting games this week?

Air Force could actually be a really tricky game for Boise State. Triple Option teams are always a challenge, especially if your team isn't used to facing them. They're not built to play from behind, so if you get up early on them they'll have a hard time coming back. But if you let them hang around, they can become damn hard to beat.

And that's exactly where Boise is good at. They'll drop 35 on them in the first half and be fine.

It's hard to drop 35 on a team that runs the ball and eats clock.

Triple options teams are always a tricky out. This game could be surprisingly close for many.

BeerBaron

It is true. I just don't think it'll be that easy. Air Force can run, and even if Boise keeps them out of the endzone, Boise is going to have fewer possessions than they're used to and we could easily see a 28-16 type of game.

And let's not forget, their loss last year was to Nevada who was heavy running team out of the pistol.

Indianapolis round two. I like that fit.

Higher than that. The fewer of Luck/Jones/Barkely who come out, the higher Foles will go.

This game is a poor example since UCLA is playing some of the worst defense ever, but Foles game revolves entirely around making one read and throwing to the guy. Not a fan of that...

No Lattimore or Bray in the SCAR/Tenn game. Should be interesting. You guys should still tune in to see Lattimore's true freshman replacement, Brandon Wilds. The coaches love this kid. 6'1 225 pounds, power back who hits the hole hard. I'm actually still excited about this season and seeing Wilds given this opportunity.

I may be jumping the gun...but he may be able to really burst on the seen here. He's been pretty fun to watch in the early get go.

I'm pretty excited to see Wilds as well. I can't expect him to make Lattimore's injury become irrelevant, but I think he has the potential to be a good starting running back for us.

I think other sports need to pick up on the NBA rule where you can't leave the sideline during a fight. Letting the refs clean up the fight gets the game to resume much quicker than other players running in to fight as well.

BJ Daniels is hilariously bad. Breaks out of a sack, runs backwards, trips over his own feet, fumbles, Cincy recovers at the 13 going in.

ElectricEye
10-22-2011, 11:21 AM
North Carolina is doing a real good job on Watkins and company. Charles Brown just made a very good play on a pass thrown in his direction. Zach Brown has also been a factor so far today, with a sack and a big time pressure on Boyd(which should have resulted in a sack, had he played it better, still beat his guy). But Andre Branch is the guy who looks the most impressive so far. Beating his guy off the line consistently and made a great play in backside pursuit.

ElectricEye

Andre Branch is everything Ricky Sapp was supposed to be.

Yeah, the light has really come on for him this year. Very impressed so far. Still has a lot of work to do in terms of developing pass rush moves, but we've seen enough guys with similar knocks on them coming out put it together early enough to make it fairly apparent that technique is secondary to physical ability for pass rushers baring something extreme.

Apparently it can on a backwards pass. Technically it wasn't a fumble, he just dropped the pass and it fell forward out of bounds. So, theoretically, you could do a backwards pass and have a player hit the ball forward out of bounds, and gain a few yards.

Nebraska then scored a TD on the next play. If you've ever wondered what it's like to be a Gophers fan, that about sums it up.

Thanks for the TD, GT punt returner! What a horrile decision to try and pick up that ball.

Gt is playing terribly and stupidly. But they got screwed on the fake punt. The runner's waist was pretty much parallel with the yellow line. I don't know how that wasn't a first down. I don't know why they have instant replay in college football. It seems like 95% of the time the play gets upheld. The replay officials take the phrase "indisputable evidence" a bit too far.

I think he is faster and more athletic than everyone else. Hard to get a comparison of someone that starred in the NFL but regardless he is the real deal.

Matt Simms is soooo awful

I was soooooo looking forward to going through the SEC schedule with Tyler Bray, Justin Hunter, and Da'Rick Rogers. Not Matt Simms, Da'Rick Rogers, and Zach Rogers.

I'm dead tired of Molasses at RB. I'd rather our RB use consist of 100% dumpoffs and screens to Marlin Lane out of the backfield. But combine Poole with this OL and it's tough to watch.

Also tired of the defense playing half a game. At what point do the coaches have the excuse of us just not having the horses to compete for 60 minutes? In '08, we had the 35th ranked recruiting class. In '09, we had the 10th best class. In '10, we had the 9th best class. In '11, we had the 13th best class. And this year, we're sitting at 13th so far. (rankings according to Rivals) And even if the talent just isn't there, that was part of Wilcox's selling point after missing out on the likes of Kevin Steele.

Oh, and what's his face, Harry Hiestand the OL Coach, kinda sucks too. The Bears fans who said he was horrible were right.

That really was pretty funny. I was also surprised the call was made relatively quickly. Sometimes officials take four hours on calls that are much less difficult to overturn.

It also reminded me of an SI article that explained that homefield advantage is real, with officiating as the #1 factor for this (human nature that officials would favor the home team/crowd, even unknowingly was the gist, with data backing up that variable and all other variables like FT%, etc.).

But I think ESPN did a good job of showing that computer-generated arrow/line with the nose of the ball over it.

My first reaction was TD, then I thought wait - that can't be overturned, it's too close... Kudos to the officials for getting it right and ESPN for using technology to support the decision as correct.
