Discuss the game and make a prediction.

The Falcons have looked absolutely terrible. Roddy White hasn't shown up this season and Julio is hurting. Gonzo is a legend but they are getting little to no production to/from him. Their defense is also statistically one of the worst in the league. They are last in the league in 3rd down defense. Teams are converting 49.4% of third downs against them! We are actually the 3rd best at 29.1%. Atlanta has played like garbage and this is a home game after a tough loss. This really shouldn't even be a game. Take the Lions in Vegas to easily cover the 3 points with a big win. 31-20.

Gee, another nail biter. This is the 3rd tough one in a row and my gut tells me Atlanta is a very dangerous team. I'll still take the Lions by 3 points. 20-17 at home.

We need Durant back to help in stopping the run. I think ATL is having problems with their O-line so that is a plus. They still have some dangerous pieces. I still think they could throw to Calvin more than they are.
Maybe This Year Mayhew

Tough game. It's up to the defense to slow down Turner just enough and get some pressure on Ryan(lots of sacks first 4 games, no sacks last 2). Either a toss up or shoot out but if the D plays well Lions could pull away at the end.
Worried about Backus vs Abraham as well and Bests health with the concussion.

Best is likely out or at least very limited. I think Stafford puts up 40-50 attempts against a very weak Falcon secondary. Lions are angry after San Fran too.

I think the Falcons show up against us, with The burner exploiting our run D.

This is a payback game. Remember Matt Ryan's rookie year? We were coming off an undefeated preseason and finally feeling pretty good about the Lions.
We had Atlanta 1st game of the season at Ford Field. The Falcons had a Rookie QB with a Rookie LT and a Rookie HC. We all thought we were going to kill them.
Then, 1st play of the game. A 70+ yard bomb for a TD by Ryan that sent us on our way to 0-16.
Well, not this time.
The Lions unleash the most awesome weapon ever created. THE MEGATRON BOMB !!!!

I don't feel good about this game, but I'm prediction Lions 24, Falcons 23 anyways.
Put me down for a 4th qtr Jason Hanson field goal that ends up giving us the win.

Good news: Julio Jones is out. He has had a good start to his rookie season.
Unfortunately, Willie Young is out for Detroit with a calf injury.

Like usual, our offensive Line and special teams units suck balls. defense is the only reason we're in the game.

This team has issues. The playcalling remains brutal.
Not only is it predictable, it's asinine. Why repeatedly run on 2nd and long?

The oline is killing me. I'd settle for an all ohio state draft of Brewster and Adams.

Ugh. Too many mistakes. Penalties, special teams coverage and fumble(unlucky after a penalty re-kick), 4 big plays against the defense and Stafford missing on 9 throws not setting his feet, redzone sacks.
Lions have some work to do. Must win in Denver. Next 3 weeks might be must win given the Lions schedule after that.
