Just paid for my copy of MW3, and i'm pretty damn stoked. Gonna get the midnight release tomorrow, apparently the Game Stop i reserved at has over 1000 reservations. Is anyone else getting it at midnight tomorrow?

I'm not a fan...but yeah, I thought it was amazing when my tiny gamestop said they had 2500 preorders. That's insane. There was only about 70 guys there when I picked up Gears 3, even.

I forget how good this game was. Its much simpler without motion detectors and other crazy stuff, although it can get a little drab some times.

Coming via French news channel TF1 (http://lci.tf1.fr/filnews/france/creteil-pres-de-400-000-euros-de-jeux-video-derobes-6809344.html) - an armed robbery took place in France over the weekend that resulted in the theft of approximately 6,000 copies of Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (http://ps3.ign.com/objects/069/069474.html).

The report detailed how two men crashed their car into a van carrying unspecified video game cargo before spraying its occupants with tear gas and stealing both the van and contents. The contents of the van was later confirmed to be copies of Modern Warfare 3 and the theft is believed to be worth around €400,000. The report states that the assailants were armed with knives but does not mention if the victims of the assault were hurt.

A later update to the story suggested that a second robbery took place under similar circumstances, with a car used to block the road before three men commandeered another delivery van and stole a further cache of MW3 worth similar value to the first.

Elsewhere, demand for MW3 has been predictably high, with one eBay copy of the game allegedly selling for over $1,700. MW3 officially launches tonight at midnight.

Thankfully they made this game to reward team players. Support streaks FTW. They don't reset after dying and they're based off assists/captures/plants/etc.

What's funny, is I used to always see you playing this on my friends list primarily, even though I had it I bought it late so I just played W@W for some strange reason alot more, then MW2. I went back to this a few months ago and absolutely couldn't put it down. It's just a really smooth game, classic.


But yea, my vacation is officially about to start. I'll see if your on when I make it home and see if you want to hop on some MW 2 or 1 really the engine is all the same.

I can only play hardcore. I can't adapt back to normal because I'm used to one burst to the chest killing someone. I usually go for stuff like hq to rank up, but I like most modes. Gotta try kill confirmed. I'll beat the game first(6 hrs or so) and then be on all week. I have Tues off, Thurs off, and free after 2 on Wed and Fri with a couple buddies on with me most of the time.

I'm so psyched. I went to target and got two bags of doritos for $6 and a couple cases of Mt Dew for like $7. I think they are doing 3 cases of 12 for $11. Its 45 mins per 12 pack and 45 more for a bag of chips for double xp. And additional 15 mins for doritos and mt dew being entered at the same time, but I think limit once a day or something.

Thing is you don't have to buy it though. It's just Double XP so you level up higher. That's obselete to some people anyhow, and a bunch of people stay at the last level once all the guns are unlocked.


I'd be more pumped if they had some different guns as DLC 1 time, that'd be pretty awesome. Double XP is fun but you certainly don't need it or have to buy it.

maybe you just need to rationalize it more with mental gymnastics. a lot of time spent studying and doing homework is actually just you on the computer visiting this site or staring off into space. with MW3 you will be motivated to quickly do your homework to get back in the fight. so you lose time spent staring at space and gain time pwning newbs. Or it can be a pre-reward for a job soon to be well done. You can guilt yourself by buying it and then having to justify the purchase by maintaining good grades. So its a challenge.

I hit level 3 before I died so many times that I decided to do campaign.

So from the looks of it, i'm definitely gonna stick to HC. All the HUD is extremely useful, especially with all the stuff going on and unlocking, but the damage just isn't doing it at long range.

Made it to Level 24 in just over 2.5 hours of play time. Did mostly Kill Confirmed on regular core.

Some quick observations/tips for those that are really gonna sink your teeth in today:

1. If you plan on using an AR, stick to the M4 or SCAR until you unlock the CM901, which is a much better gun, and the one you should level up most until you unlock more weapons.

2. Personally, i thought using a handgun over a machine pistol was more effective. The machine pistols have a really high fire rate and a good amount of recoil, so you find your shot going all over the place pretty often if you can't manage it.

3. Stay away from the M16 if you're playing regular core. A full three round burst to the chest at close distance does not kill. I found that the hard/annoying way.

4. Use your EMP grenade to take out SAM turrets and Sentries.

5. SoH is easy to level up to pro, so do that quickly before you unlock Blind Eye and Extreme Conditioning.

6. Run Hardline as soon as you get it.

7. Level up stalker as the last perk since Marksman is useless unless you're sniping.

8. I'd recommend rolling with the Support Strike Package. It's the only one that doesn't reset after death, and it helps your team out a TON. Regularly puts up UAVs and SAM Turrets to take out the opponents air support. Also, unlock the Advanced UAV and Juggernaut Recon asap, those are huge rewards.

Didn't see anything out of the ordinary, or glitchy/exploity. Only thing is that sometimes it seemed like i got out gunned because of a better connection, but nothing that had me raging. Overall it was a pretty damn good experience, i had no problems at all.


I'm done for the night, probably gonna get at it again early afternoon tomorrow.

The support killstreaks are just awesome. They roll over after death, they count a kill for destroying a UAV or air support, it's just all around awesome. I got way too tired to stay up any later, but hopefully I can rank up a bit before afternoon.

MW3 > BF3 easily. Gameplay is awesome. Also use the type95 or whatever with a silencer and rapid fire. Its the best ******* gun in the game. My observations from playing 12-9. I'm level 38.

I played with a lot of friends and pretty much domination all night, we lost maybe five games all night. But I swear to god try that gun combo I posted. It just is insane for a 3 round burst gun. I wont be playing again until hopefully thursday night tho due to more important obligations.

Everyone starts with a basic set of weapons that you can use. As you play, you start leveling those weapons up to add attachments, proficiencies, skins, recticles, the works. Same thing with the perks and kill streaks. Everything gives you XP, so as you gain levels, you unlock more perks and weapons.

Well, it's made to where you won't be at a ridiculous disadvantage when starting. There's also default classes that are pre-made that you can use, which have weapons/perks that you may not have available for you yet.

And the matchmaking is made to where the user joins lobbies with players at similar levels. So right now it shouldn't be difficult for people to catch on.

Everyone will have it. I'd go to Target. My local one had the game just sitting out near the Check Out lanes like it was a bargain DVD. Much better than asking some lame Wal Mart worker to get the game out of a case for you.

as soon as I beat the single player then I'll start adding you guys. i'm level 26 and yes scotty, i've been rolling with the ump silenced and doing quite well. the decoy crate and stealth bomber has helped a ton too.

I'm loving this game right now. I'm only lvl 17 but I'm doing real well with the UMP. I tried using shotguns but I suck because I don't know the levels yet and how to avoid long straightaways.

I got 2 of the escorted airdrops in my last 2 matches but the game ended both times before I could collect. It's kinda slow but I love that it is protected by the Osprey.

I really need to unlock the stinger because shooting down air crafts is key in the support package because it is an easy way to get bump up that streak. I'm still not sure what reward I want to use yet though because I love the escort airdrop but it makes me miss out on a bunch of UAVs while I'm building up to it.

Computer interfaces are so much better for FPS that it's not even funny. So I just stopped playing FPS games on consoles.

Do the consoles have mouse and keyboard setups that you can play MW3 or BF3 with? That have the same sensitivity as a computer setup?

I can't stand using a slow arsed thumb stick when I could be slamming a mouse across an acre of mouse pad.

The reason I mention all of this is because you guys have got me jonesing for some FPS action. It's been years since I've played a real FPS (TF2 and CS:S on the computer).

So I reached level 48 last night before logging off and this is defiantly the best CoD game yet, a lot more Gun-on-Gun than KS.

P.S. Me being a 48, not as bad as it sounds. I played an hour after midnigt release. Then I had no work/school Tuesday so I played a lot(about 10 hours real time idk about game time, which I am not proud of, but I just wanted to "no life it for 1 day since I'm busy after this and will only be playing when I'm bored now), but I bought 2x XP and 2x Weapon XP from the prestige shop once I hit level 10 so ranking up was easy. I play nothing but Domination and Kill Confirmed. Kill Confirmed has NO campers, it's great. The MP5 is my gun too, it's back to it's MW1 form and I love it, 1 level away from Gold Camo.

I think it feels pretty distinguished from BO so far. You die far easier, the guns handle alot differently, it came out with a ton of levels unlike BO, and they tweaked alot of the perks, kill streaks and such to the point where its pretty refreshing for me at least. And I am a pretty big hater on the way they make these games, although Ive only had one night of playing time thus far (granted it lasted until seven in the morning but still).

I don't know why everyone says it's the same exact changes. I mean, what were you expecting to be different? That might help me understand some of what your saying..


They added new kill streaks, different types of killstreaks, new perks, new perk layouts, new guns, vehicles, I mean they made a ton of changes for this game. How could you feel it's the same game? Unless were talking a radical change, like when GTA turned from an overhead frogger style game to modern, interactive warfare, how much change is realistically expected in a sequal? For any game honestly.


I'm very pleased with the lack of camping(thus far), lack of noob tubing, addition of support KS's(which were made for my playing style), and it seems to be going back to living off of being a FPS where at times MW2 got away from the beauty of gun on gun combat.


Would have liked better choices/options for cammo, some of the boards I'm not a fan of the design with so much clutter in the way/air it seems.


I am very happy with them making a turn to reward team players and team games. That in itself is a pretty huge change for the series. What additions, or ideas were some of you wanting to see, that feel like there is no difference in games?

yeah, the reason why I'm excited to play these games is because of the quality of online play and the gradual enhancements. I buy like 15-20 games a year, if I wanted a new game then I would play one of the other 14-19 that I get. everybody should have this game if they play first person shooters online. its the game their friends will probably have and its the most streamlined and actual skill based.

Its worlds better than black ops right now. I've been playing nothing but kill confirmed. No camping, no stupid rc cars, and I've been newbtubed like twice and I'm 2nd Lt. Its all clean, gunbased gameplay.

The only place where you might see an increase in tubing is in HC gamemodes, because for regular core, they've made it to where tubes are just a supplementary weapon. The person needs to be already about -30%ish health for it to kill. Otherwise it just injures someone, it won't kill.

I love the way the game plays, like LL said, it's completely done away with camping for killstreaks. I've been playing Domination and Kill Confirmed and it's just great. I've had no complaints. The only thing i would have done different is made a few smaller maps. It seems like they're all pretty big.

I'm a level 46 now, been running the g36, red dot/silenced. It's beastly.

Sounds pretty good to me. I have never really cared about exp/prestiging so it sounds like I could really manipulate things. Can't wait to try it out!

I always like to start out with Domination for a few hours. Really helps to learn the map hotspots, and there are rarely campers.

For Kill Confirmed, play with friends. It'll be so much easier. We don't lose when we play with 3+ people. Also, use the buddy system. Try not to stray too far away from your teammates, it'll help them deny your deaths and also help pick up your dogtags.

I'm level 51 now, just got the autumn camo on the cm901. Gonna start using the ACR now. Notice it has a ton more kick than the laser gun did in mw2

- You can select 1 or 2 kill streaks if you want. So you can get a lot of UAVs/CUAVs instead of saving up for a EMP or something. Combine this with hardline + a stinger and you can rack up a lot of XP

Hahaha Metsox I said the exact same thing about the support package. They'll patch it, just watch. It's not even game breaking either. It causes a pretty fun ass war zone in the area the plane is gonna land. I run it with Blackbird(I still like to call it that), and Stealth Bomber.


Usually though I only get one, and it's really late in the match.


On another note, has everyone had 1 chance to be in a Juggy suit and have an extreme amount of fun? Holy **** that's a nice addition, just for the pure comedy it provides.

Getting your gun to level 35? 32? But it's unlocked at one of those levels. I'm at level 31 right now if i'm not mistaken. It's the same way to unlock all other camos, except it's the last unlockable for a gun.

Yeah, the ACR is really good. The silencer helps with the recoil so you don't really need the Kick proficiency. The damage is awesome as well, i'd like to see what my K:D is with it, cause for the last few hours that's all i used (have it at level 23 now) and i've had at least a 3.5:1, just guesstimating. Can't wait to try out the AK, but i'm still a ways from it. Only Lvl58 right now.

I'm an M4 man myself. Had the fall camo on MW2 with it, just always been 1 of my favorite guns. Favorite class on it is the ext mags with FMJ perk. I destroy with it. #1 is always the AK and always will be though.


Just sucks they don't go back to COD4 style and let you run with it 1st. I don't get to truly enjoy it until I decide to stop prestiging, which isn't at least 6 months down the line.


I'm excited to use the ACR with a silencer though.


Typically I don't use a bunch of different guns each time through. My style/preference is usually to pick a gun to start with early, master it completely, then at about level 30-40 use a different gun until the 60's maybe, then finish that out.


So when I prestige, I'll dominate with the Scar instead of the M4 early, and for a long time, and instead of the ACR 2nd I'll probably roll with the G36 which I'm excited about using also.


Side bar: Can any of you guys who were a big time SCAR user tell me if it's way different then the MW2 version? It was the only gun I hated in that game, HATED. Even though it was heavily used. Yet now, I love it. It's really amazing honestly and I don't know how it could change up on me so fast.

The RoF wasn't too bad, but the power was ridiculous. With the SP multiplier, you could three hit kill guys from medium-long range.

MW3. It adds survival mode and spec ops that you can play by yourself. Campaigns are similar lengths, but MW3 is more varied and action packed. Plus you don't just randomly fall dead in hallways.

There's a Support Streak that gives your team a bunch of Care packages, I think.. I haven't been able to use it yet, so I'm not sure if that's what it could be or not.

It's the Wireless 360 plug in adaptor, but since I'm so damn far away from the modem it's off and on, especially at night. Good thing is once I'm in I'm full bars ready to go.

I've been using the UMP45.. just because it's what I started using when I couldn't have custom classes. Now I've got it up to Level 30.. I'm ready to move on but wanna max this out first.

I love the UMP. I know jvig has mentioned this but I use two attachments with rapid fire and supressor + steady aim.

The past two days have been bad for me, connection-wise.

Anyone know how to get a better damn connection? I'm using Wireless. Are there some settings I can play around with or anything? It's really annoying.

Get closer to the modem. Or talk to your provider and see about an adapter they can put into the room you play in with a stronger signal. Really all you can do. If your in the same room as your modem on wireless and your connection is crap then you've got a huge problem.


Also make sure your wireless modem is the black one with two prongs at the end to open up, not the white one with 1 antenna. I heard the new xbox 360 with the wireless built in is much stronger, but with all the rumors of the new one dropping in 2012 I won't be buying the new xbox that came out recently.

I mostly play on Domination with my friends. But I was having a lot of issues tonight with Xbox live and connecting with friends and parties. So I hope that gets fixed by tomorrow. Im already 1st prestige level 34 or something. My KDR keeps going from 1.97 to 2.02. The FAD at level 78 is a great gun to use though, but my favorite gun is the UMP45. I loved that gun in MW2.

I suck so bad at online play. I've never been into it but I'm giving it a serious go this time around.
It's real difficult when I'm a Level 1 FNG and I'm playing with a bunch of level 35-73 guys.
Death, death and more deaths...
Most kills I've gotten is 3 (4 if you count assist). Died up to 13 times.
I mainly play Team DeathMatch as well.
