I don't think we need two true DL in the first. I really like the Still pick but I would go with McDonald, Curry, Ronnell Lewis, or Sanu with the next pick over Worthy.

I don't really understand the Mercilus pick. Mike Adams and TJ McDonald would be much better options there.

I agree, I don't see the need for two DTs in the first. Love Devon Still though!

I am not going to mock the Patriots Curry or Lewis because everything we've learned about Belichick's draft philosophy says that he will pass. McDonald is a possibility because he plays safety but wasn't nearly the value Worthy is. Worthy is an extremely disruptive, massive lineman who can take on double teams, split blockers, get into the backfield, and has the quickest first step of any of the defensive tackles in this class. My thinking is that Worthy would play LE, Wilfork would stay over the nose, and Still would step in at RE. It's one way of adding to the pass rush without predicting Belichick to do something he hasn't historically done (draft a defensive end to convert to linebacker.) Sanu is someone else I considered there.

I didn't go with Mike Adams because the Ravens recently drafted Jah Reid to play tackle. I'd be willing to be convinced that he is the right pick, though. T.J. McDonald was a thought but I liked the value of Mercilus more. Has Sergio Kindle done anything?

If Griffin enters, I think he'll go late-first at best. He came in at #47 on last my big board. Kiper's got him at #24, McShay at #53. He's not the prospect people consider him on these boards. When evaluating a QB, you want to see them do the things that will be asked of them in the NFL. I'm not saying Griffin can't go through progressions, but most of the time he looks for his primary option or scrambles. I also think he's going to show up at the combine at about 6'1". I could see a team trading back into the late first to grab him, though.

CB is a pretty big need for cincy, but I'm going to doubt that we draft 1 in the first (at least at this point). I still love the picks, but I'm just not 100% sure we'll grab a CB that early.

I really liked the value of Kirkpatrick there, which made him too tough to pass on. So much of the secondary's performance relies on chemistry, which is built-in with Barron and Kirkpatrick. The two usually play on the left side of the field at Alabama. Both players are strong tacklers and very aggressive in pursuit. They'd be good fits in Zimmer's defense.

I really don't like 2 DL in the first.

I'd take Kirkpatrick over Still at that point. BB has shown he loves to draft DBs early and Kirkpatrick fits the mould from a size point of view and was coached by Nick Saban.

I like the next two picks in Worthy and Lester but I really don't see how Hightower is a real upgrade over Spikes or Fletcher.

Not sure about Mercilus to the Ravens... Their are other needs to be assured other than pass rusher.

With Mike Adams, Luke Kuechly and even T.J. McDonald or Alfonzo Denard still on the board, IF we would be picking that high (I dunno about your draft order man, Houston in the SB?) with those guys still on the board, I would imagine we address more pressing concerns.

2nd round is ok, depending on what we do with the first.

Hightower would be projected as an outside linebacker. He is powerful enough to set the edge, is decent in coverage, and offers a little bit as a blitzer. We all know Belichick doesn't value blitzing as much as coverage/gap responsibility.

I may have to quote this again because I think it is spot on. Too bad because I think the Chiefs will be looking real hard for a QB by the time this season in over. They may have gone from "Suck for Luck" to "Blow for Barkley."

If the Pats bring in Hightower as an OLB then I would probably be ok with it. Rob Ninkovich is a good solid, underrated guy in the system. He does what he is asked to-sets a hard edge in the run game, drops into coverage etc however he is a non-factor in pass rushing though as you mentioned it's not what he is asked to do. That being said he can definitely be upgraded and Hightower would be a nice player to bring into that role.

no real complaint from the Giants standpoint. Love Kuechly. Don't know much about Allen, but he'd be a luxury pick, but one I'd be perfectly fine with. Unless there was a good OL still on the board.

Solid first round for the Panthers.

In the second, with the injuries to Davis (3 ACL tear in less than 2 years) and Otah (at the end of the year, he'll have played in 29 of 48 regular season games since being drafted), I could see an LB or OT being the pick instead of a WR.

6. Washington Redskins - QB Landry Jones, Oklahoma*

39. Washington Redskins - DT Jared Crick, Nebraska

I'm personally not a big Landry Jones fan but I "understand" the pick so I won't harp on it. Hopefully we are in a spot to land or trade up for Luck/Barkley when it's said and done. In rd 2 I have to strongly disagree with the Crick selection. This team has way too many needs to take a dlineman in the 2nd round. We have glaring needs at interior OL, WR, CB, and ILB. Our dline play has been one of the bright spots this year and we get jenkins back next year who looked amazing in preseason.

PS - Chase Minnifield is drafted twice

Are you not a fan of Tannehill or did you leave him out on accident? He'd be my ideal choice for a second rounder at this point. QB and RT are our two biggest needs by far.

I do feel we go CB with our first pick but maybe not followed by a Safety. I see OG and WR more of a need at that point. Simpson is raising lots of questions IMO. I'd like to get an impact Safety, but we have 3-4 young ones on the roster feeling their way and I gotta believe that the club sees some future in 1 or 2 of them. (Miles, Sands, Mays)

Yeah any of those three would make more sense than Mercilus. I'd prefer Adams at that point. Dennard could be an option as well and I wouldn't rule out Glenn (depending on what we do with Grubbs). In the second round Martin is an okay pick but one that we wouldn't benefit from for a couple of years and I don't think that the front office would invest that much in a guy that's sure to be a backup at a position that's not going to get a lot of rotation.

This over and over again, I would question cleveland passing on richardson with their first because as the roster stands right now they really don't have a good running back, well lets be honest they have hardly any talent at the skill positions. So I would prefer Richardson with our first and Jeffery with our second first rounder.

I like the Jeffrey pick but I am worried that the lack of a pass rush and Wayne Hunter being so bad at RT might push the need of a WR down.

I would want Jeffrey, just I don't know if the Jets would let Upshaw pass them by.
