I really hope USC throws another wrench in the spokes by upsetting Oregon. Since USC won't be going to a bowl game they have just as much incentive as Oregon to win this game.

Man if OK State lose, WTF is gonna happen man. I don't wanna see a re-match in the Championship. LSU has beaten Bama, They have beaten Oregon, so does that leave Oklahoma if they beat Oklahoma State? And then also, LSU still has Arkansas, so that is a possible L for LSU, also Georgia in the SEC championship. There could be lots of chaos man.

I like how this announcer keeps saying "Heisman Frontrunner" for Weeden. Um. No.

I llove how the announcers are giving this Iowa state corner all kinds of credit for his work on blackmon. Have you seen these throws to him? Not hard to cover when the QB is this inaccurate. Blackmons made some great catches.

Bull. More like wide straight over.

This playing for OT is stupid. You basically take away the fact that Oklahoma State's defense sucks. I would have liked my odds of getting into FG range over playing them in OT.

Yeah, it's the gang raping. Like I said, LSU/Houston would make the Georgia/Hawaii game look tame.

The reason teams like Boise and TCU could compete with the nation's better teams in bigger conferences was because they had/have future NFL talent in the trenches.

A team like Houston is all a big passing gimmick. The Houston trench players on both sides of the ball would get blown over like traffic cones.

You do have a point, but gimmick or not, they've scored over 70 twice this season. And their defense may not be good, but it's way better than that Hawaii's.

Alabama could bench every starter and play all of their freshman and they'd still win by 30 points.

For the most chaos in the SEC, Arkansas needs to beat LSU...then Georgia wins the SEC championship game. That would be like 10 monkey wrenches thrown into the system.

If that happens, no way Arkansas gets in over Bama/LSU. Georgia gets their bowl for winning the SEC and the rest of the bowls duke it out to take one of Bama or LSU. Arky would be up ****'s creek even though they deserve it. It would be another Oklahoma/Texas/Texas Tech scenario. Well, just in the sense that three would be vying for their shot at the title game.

The only way for 3 SEC schools to be in BCS bowls is if Georgia beats LSU in the SEC championship game but LSU and Alabama remain #1 and #2 in the polls. Then the BCS is forced to take #1 and #2 (SEC) while the Sugar is forced to take the SEC representative (Georgia).

If (until?) that happens then the Sugar Bowl will feature two at-large bids (Houston likely receiving one).

How would shape is this:

BCS national championship #1 LSU (SEC) vs. #2 Alabama (SEC)

Rose Bowl: Oregon (Pac12) vs Michigan State (Big Ten)
Fiesta Bowl: Oklahoma State (Big12) vs. Cincinnati (Big East)
Sugar Bowl: Houston (non-AQ at-large) vs. Oklahoma (Big12)
Orange: Clemson (ACC) vs. Stanford (Pac12)

Boise State and Virginia Tech could also be included depending on who the Sugar and Orange decide to invite.

What happened tonight is setting up something unprecedented in college football: two teams from the same conference being set up to play in the national championship.

At least the one time a team played in the BCS championship game without having won their conference they had won their division (Oklahoma 2004)

Urban Meyer in 2006..

"Florida coach Urban Meyer said Sunday a rematch between Michigan and Ohio State would be cause for immediate change to the BCS."

'If that does happen, all the [university] presidents need to get together immediately and put together a playoff system,' he said. 'I mean like now, January or whenever to get that done.'"

Who are these mythical out of conferences that you speak of? OSU who just lost to ISU or maybe the Sooners who let a powerful TT team put up 30 plus on them. Let's not forget that stout Boise State defense that looks about NFL level. That leaves Oregon then with about 6 first rounders on defense.

That's a game I'd love to see but there's no questioning how stifling both LSU and Alabama's defenses are.

Alabama moved the ball pretty well on a top rated Penn St defense. What I wanted to see early in the season was either Bama or LSU in the title game versus Wisconsin. South Carolina is beating The Citadel now 41-20 and Florida is up on Furman. Everyone knows this year's Florida team is lackluster at best.

On that note, Big 12 teams had the most difficult conference SoS this year. LSU, though, the hardest OOC schedule and most difficult schedule altogether. After the regular season finishes they will have faced 7 teams ranked in the top 25.

Texas A&M comes close to that as they will have faced 6 (if Texas stays ranked following today's game).

I have Houston.

What most people don't understand about the BCS (among many things) is that you have to be the champion of your conference to get the automatic bid as a non-BCS, which Boise State won't be.

So, the bowls would have to want Boise State, instead of being forced into accepting Boise State, and I don't see how that happens. Even if OK State loses to Oklahoma and Michigan loses to Ohio State, they would still take a 10-2 OK State team over an 11-1 Boise State team.
