View Full Version : Be Thankful for 2 rounds and explanations Mock!

11-21-2011, 08:15 PM
I took my time in the first round and rushed the 2nd round. Let's hear any comments!

1 - IND Andrew Luck; QB Stanford
It seems like this is a lock already..

2 - CAR Morris Claiborne; CB LSU
The Panthers could easily go with WR Justin Blackmon, but improving
that defense might take priority.

3 - MIN Matt Khalil; LT USC
I couldn't even tell you who is playing LT for the Vikings..

4 - STL Dre Kirkpatrick; CB Alabama
Two CBs might in the top 5 might raise some eyebrows, but the Rams
just acquired Brandon Lloyd and invested a couple draft picks in some
young wide receivers.

5 - WAS Robert Griffin III; QB Baylor
Shanahan won't be afraid to go after RG3 if that is his guy.

6 - ARI Riley Reiff, OT Iowa
Levi Brown isnt' getting it done.

7 - JAC Justin Blackmon; WR Oklahoma St.
I like the Quinton Coples fit here, but they are going to have to do
everything in their power to aid Gabbert's development.

8 - MIA Matt Barkley; QB USC
Matt Moore is playing good, but he's more of a good backup at this point.

9 - KC Ryan Tannehill; QB Texas A&M
When will they admit that Matt Cassel isn't the answer?

10 - PHI Devon Still; DT Penn St.
The name might raise some eyes in the top 10, but Andy Reid lives and dies
by drafting trench players.

11 - CLE Quinton Coples; DE North Carolina
They started rebuilding the defense last year with the transition to the 4-3
by adding two pieces in Phil Taylor and Jabaal Sheard. It'd be wise to continue that.

12 - SEA Landry Jones; QB Oklahoma
A good quarterback is certainly holding this team back.

13 - SD Courtney Upshaw; 3-4 OLB Alabama
Upshaw is probably a reach here, but AJ Smith doesn't seem to mind reaching on players
(Larry English, Ryan Matthews, Buster Davis...etc)

14 - TB Alfonzo Dennard ; CB Nebraska
Might be a little early, but he seems tailor made for them.

15 - TEN David DeCastro; OG Stanford
Their offensive line used to be one of the best.

16 - NYJ Alshon Jeffery ; WR South Carolina
The Jets offense is average and they need to take the next step if
they want a championship

17 - BUF Michael Floyd ; WR Notre Dame
At some point they'll need to bring some elite talent on the offense to help out Fitzpatrick in the passing game.

18 - DEN Dontari Poe; DT Memphis
They are transitioning back to a 4-3 and they need a big body
simliar to what they did in Cleveland with Phil Taylor last year.

19 - DAL Cordy Glenn ; OG Georgia
The Cowboys are rebuilding their offensive line, and their interior line could
use some new beef.

20 - CLE via ATL Zach Brown; WLB North Carolina
They need a playmaker at LB.

21 - CIN Trent Richardson ; RB Alabama
Cedric Benson has been on his last legs; Richardson could make
this offense dynamic.

22 - CIN via OAK Janoris Jenkins ; CB North Alabama
They don't care about character issues and Leon Hall just suffered
a tough injury to come back from quickly.

23 - DET Jonathan Martin; LT Stanford
They'll look to bring a smash mouth element once they get LeShoure back.

24 - HOU Kendall Wright; WR Baylor
Andre Johnson just suffered a tough injury and they've always needed
some depth behind him.

25 - NE Peter Konz ; C Wisconsin
They've been infusing their offensive line with draft picks lately; why
stop now?

26 - [Traded to New England] via NO Mark Barron, SS Alabama
Sure, it'd be nice to have a pass rusher here, but there just seem like no good fits with who is left on the board.

27 - BAL Mike Adams; LT OSU
Seems like a good value pick they like along with a position they could some
new talent at.

28 - NYG Brandon Thompson; DT Clemson
We all know their love to draft Dlineman and they'd be getting a player projected to go a lot earlier

29 - CHI Mohamed Sanu ; WR Rutgers
They need a dynamic WR.

30 - SF Chase Minnifield; CB Virginia
Even if they resign Carlos Rogers, he is getting old and they need to start grooming a #2/ future #1.

31 - PIT Kelechi Osemele; OG Iowa St.
Seems to fit what they like in their offensive lineman.

32 - GB Jerel Worthy; 3-4 DE Michigan St.
They need to replace Cullen Jenkins sooner than later.

Second Round

39) JAC Whitney Mercilus; DE Illinois
40) PHI via ARI Luke Kuechly; MLB Boston College
41) WAS Manti Te'o; ILB Notre Dame
42) TB Lamar Miller; RB Miami
43) SD Stephen Gilmore; CB South Carolina
44) SEA Jayron Hosley; CB Virginia Tech
45) CLE Levy Adcock, RT Oklahoma St.
38) PHI Vontaze Burflict; SLB Arizona St.
46) KC Chris Polk; RB Washington
47) DEN David Wilson; RB Virginia Tech

2 OGs going inside the top 20? I don't think we'll see that, nor maybe we never have.

11-21-2011, 09:12 PM
Martin > Reiff

11-21-2011, 09:22 PM
Martin > Reiff

Adams > Martin

Terrific Ravens draft sir tho it would be very hard for us to pass on Taze.

11-21-2011, 09:28 PM
I like the Mike Adams pick so its hard to find fault here. However I do think that if Burfict or Kuechly fell to us, we would pick one of them up.

Still a solid first round pick. Would hop Ozzie would pull a trade to move up if he could get one of those guys that late.

I'm drooling thinking of a Mike Adams Taze haul in the draft. We could trade the rest of our draft away and I'd be happy

11-21-2011, 09:39 PM
Yeah I'll echo what the two Ravens fans ahead of me said, if Burfict falls he's probably going to be the best player available and he plays a position of need. Adams could fit that category too though so I would be very happy with either. Cole is a nice pick in the second round as well

11-21-2011, 10:00 PM
If Burfict and Kuechly fell to us in the 2nd idk what i would do! I love it.

11-21-2011, 10:06 PM
Likes it. But I see Michael Brewster isn't in the mock. Just saying Brewster, Glenn and Tyron Smith could anchor this line for the next 5-7 years. I jizzed a little thinking about that

11-21-2011, 10:20 PM
I would murder a kitten if the Browns passed on Trent Richardson twice.

11-21-2011, 10:22 PM
Good first round. But would rather go s or wr is second round.

11-21-2011, 11:13 PM
If the Niners are going to go NT I think Chapman would be a better pick. I see them going WR or OG with that pick.

11-22-2011, 12:11 AM
I like Tannehill a LOT, but I don't know about taking him 9th overall.

11-22-2011, 12:37 AM
I don't want Tannehill, but if KC takes him top 10, I will do break something.

11-22-2011, 12:47 AM
Completely awful. Cassel is not the answer, but drafting Tannehill that high would be a disaster.

11-22-2011, 12:53 AM
I like Tannehill a LOT, but I don't know about taking him 9th overall.
If the Chiefs are drafting a QB, there's no such thing as "value". There's just drafting the one you want and making sure you get him. They're not drafting one in the second round.

11-22-2011, 04:34 AM
wow, griffin and teo in the same draft would be jizztastic.

11-22-2011, 04:49 AM
GREAT Vikings mock.

11-23-2011, 08:29 PM
Good work for the repeaters.
That draft could help them do something historic again: 3-peat for the Super Bowl.

11-23-2011, 10:33 PM
Jeffrey would be ok but if he gets taken over Floyd by the Jets I will be legit pissed.

I want Floyd but the Jets need to fix their RT because Wayne Hunter sucks *** so Johnathan Martin would be an ideal pick to plug at RT.

Round 2 you were right with a need for OLB but Vin Curry would be ideal.

11-23-2011, 10:44 PM
Completely awful. Cassel is not the answer, but drafting Tannehill that high would be a disaster.

You are correct. Like Polk but not sure about 2nd round. Would feel better in round #3 with him.
