View Full Version : Rob's $5 Footlong Challenge

So, yeah......my stomach is pretty much a bottomless pit. I have eaten an entire crave case in one sitting before and I have another food challenge on my mind. Njx, metsox and I were discussing this in the RDT and I am open to attempting to eat four Subway $5 footlongs in one sitting live via skype. I also would rather not just do this for the, well, fun (that's so not the right word) of it and njx and metsox have both said that they would contribute to a prize pool were I to complete the challenge.

Anyway, if enough people are interested in me doing this/contributing to a prize pool I will likely attempt this sometime in the next couple weeks.

We can refine the rules later, but I am thinking 4 sandwiches of my choice (must have meat) with lettuce, tomato, onion and whatever dressing/additional veggies I choose.

As for my stats, I'm a pretty normal dude. 6'0, about 200 lbs with no competitive eating experience, so rest assured, this isn't a hustle.

can we pick the subs? also, I am interested.

We can discuss rules, but I would ideally pick the subs. Honestly, I think I can only do subs with cold cuts. 4 meatball marinaras or chicken subs is probably out of range if I am being honest with myself.

I want to watch this.

This is a PPV event. I'm Floyd Mayweather up in this *****. Just kidding, but I'm not doing this just for fun. The sandwiches alone will run me like 22 bucks and I make $500 a month right now.

I know I could destroy 4 seafood footlongs.

what veggies are we considering?

Lettuce/Tomato/Onion must be on every sub. I very well may opt for sweet peppers in addition though. Veggie requests I can take and will consider them much more than choices of meat.

Yeah....I will set up a paypal. No set amount....everyone can only afford a certain amount (like I said, I make $500/month). If you can't afford anything, thats fine. I just need something to motivate me, because this will suck a lot.

**** the love of the game. I am broke and I did that once with the crave case and it was terrible. I did my time in the minors.

I am going to do it regardless thanks to very recent developments. If people want to contribute, thats fine, but it is on like donkey kong come this weekend or next regardless.

This is weak. Those subs are what, under 500 calories? I love you Rob, but step your game up homie.

I will accept eating challenges for food I enjoy. I am insatiable.

They are like 700 I think. 4 footlong subs is not weak.....this will be incredibly hard.

We just need to set up the rules on what will count as a "win" in the Rob v. 5-footlongs fight.

I do not believe this to be weaksauce by any means.

I think all that is left to decide is:

- Final agreement on sandwiches/toppings/bread
- Time Limit
- Bathroom Rules

4 subs is pretty difficult, but doable. My buddy did 4 Qdoba/Chipotle burritos, that was pretty impressive.

I think you're overestimating 2100 calories. I mean, I guess you have to factor this issues with the bread, but meh.

That is impressive. Pretty comprable I think though. Burritos dont fill me up that much for some reason.....I know they should.

Do it with me. I think it will be much harder than you think. The calories dont really matter......eating 4 sticks of butter wouldn't be hard at all and thats 3200 calories......

I think burritos have more calories though. Tortillas are stacked full of carbs, plus the rice and everything else.

If we could get something I'd enjoy more, I'd be down. I've lost a lot of my love for bread after keto destroyed my fatness a few years ago.

I'd pay to see you try the cinammon challenge too. Maybe right after you eat the 4 subs...

That'd be fun.

Triple triple: you take the meat and cheese from three Wendy's triple cheese burgers and put it on one bun.

Sorry Rob, I wouldn't be able to throw in money for this either way, though I'd rep the **** out of you and tell you to record it and put it on youtube or some ****.

I definitely think its doable. Any time I eat hoagies or sandwiches like that, I always feel like I could eat a lot more. I was able to snarf down 2 footlong subs when I was extremely starving one time, and felt like there was room for more. I might just try it myself one night and see how it goes.

So, I have to go to a business lunch this Sunday, so unfortunately this is going to have to be bumped to the following weekend. Both Saturday and Sunday should be free next week though, so let me know which day you prefer so I can prepare.
