it is kind of alarming but played in the rose bowl at about that weight, and he was the second best player on the field that night behind Vince

My post from this thread in the NFL forum:

At least he's at the facility working out at the voluntary off-season work out program. And just because he's twenty pounds over wieght, in the middle of the offseason, he's getting knocked on and his work ethic is bad? C'mon guys.

I'm not worried at all. LenDale is a good back. His production in college backs that up, despite playing second fiddle to Reggie Bush. We'll adress depth at the RB position, but the starting spot is LenDale's to lose. He still has a chip on his shoulder, and will garner attention this season.

He'll lose the weight come training camp. I'm not worried one bit.

I always thought his playing weight was around 250 anyway.

I think it's a somewhat worrisome. Regardless of what weight you think he should be playing at, you don't want him showing up at 260 when he's got the easy road to the starting job. What exactly good can come out of this?

I do think he needs to play a little heavier than he was last year, though. He looked around 225-230 last year...I'd like to see him around 240.

260 is a bit much when he is being handed the starting job, for the moment...he looked to skinney last season, i agree pitt on around 240

I'd like to see something official. Yahoo's rumors don't convince me. I need to see someone who has actually weighed the guy. He's reportedly been working out at BSP, so the coaches know where he is and what he needs to do. I'm not worried about it. If anything, I'd like to see him play heavy enough to have that power he had in college.

260 is to much he needs to take responsibilty and keep his weight down to about 235 pounds. He can become a very good player but if he wants to eat away a promising career so be it. This guy is very young and if he dosn't become dedicated and keep his weight in check now what do you think he will be like 6 seasons from now?

LenDale is overrated anyway... I would love to see you get the chance to take a Marshawn Lynch in the 1st or stockpile on the defense and then get a WR or a RB in the 2nd...

I read today in the Tennessean that White has already lost 9 lbs since he began working out in the past couple of weeks...Fisher said he's not worried about Lendale's weight but would not comment on what Lendale weighed when workouts began

I never really thought LenDale White was going to be the feature back in Tennessee. I think the Titans would be smart to draft a shiftier 3rd down back to split carries with White. Lorenzo Booker or Antonio Pittman would be a good fit

Big deal? Running back LenDale White was heavy when he began the team's offseason conditioning program last month, but contrary to reports, he didn't weigh in at 260 pounds.
White played last season around 230 pounds, and that's about where the Titans want him this fall.
"Players are going to gain some weight from the time the season ends and the start of the offseason program. It is not unusual,'' Fisher said. "The key is to be able to handle the workload and have the weight come off. I don't anticipate it being any problem.
"LenDale has been participating and he is working hard. It is what we expect of him.''
Fisher refused to divulge White's weight, but one team official said the second-year pro had lost nine pounds in the past two weeks.

There's the actual quote from the Tennessean

The question is he a soft 260, or hard... with it being the off season, I am pretty sure it is a soft...

I look forward to seeing him get more reps this year to see if he is the real deal or not...

sucks if true. he should be playing around 240 so its not that bad. but there needs to be some other guys behind him.

with the recent events with pacman, i think the titans will stay away from anyone with questionable character.
