I'm just seeing how far I am off on assessing team needs and whatnot. I feel like I've forgotten someone, so please don't freak. I also feel like some people may have fallen just a bit too much. I'll see if you guys feel the same way. I didn't want to take a few hours writing up "analysis" for this version, but I'm happy to explain any pick.

4. Cleveland - Trent Richardson, RB, Alabama
5. Tampa Bay - Morris Claiborne, CB, LSU
6. St Louis - Michael Floyd, WR, Notre Dame
7. Jacksonville - Justin Blackmon, WR, Oklahoma State
8. Miami - Quinton Couples, DE, North Carolina
9. Carolina - Fletcher Cox, DT, Mississippi State
10. Buffalo - Nick Perry, DE, USC
11. Kansas City - Dontari Poe, NT, Memphis
12. Seattle - Ryan Tannehill, QB, Texas A&M
13. Arizona - Riley Reiff, OT, Iowa
14. Dallas - David DeCastro, OG, Stanford
15. Philadelphia - Luke Kuechly, LB, Boston College
16. New York Jets - Mark Barron, S, Alabama
17. Cincinnati - Janoris Jenkins, CB, North Alabama
18. San Diego - Courtney Upshaw, OLB, Alabama
19. Chicago - Jonathan Martin, OT, Stanford
20. Tennessee - Whitney Mercilus, DE, Illinois

Ugh, I'm still not feeling the Hightower pick for the Ravens. He just looked so damn slow on tape and that's not what we need. Konz on the other hand would be a great fit at C for us.

I don't see Jenkins in the 1st the Bengals have been cleaning up the locker room.

I like your Pats picks if you don't think Smith slips to 48. Philly and Dallas need safeties and doubt he gets past them. Some good olb's between 33 and 47. Perry, Branch, Curry, McClellin and Cam Johnson. Can fill that hole there. Should be able to get a decent wr at 63 too. There are about 25 decent wr prospects out there.

I can't decide if I like Hightower or don't. There is some bad tape of him out there, but he did run relatively fast. My thoughts are that Alabama's D is pretty complicated and that's slowing him down.

However... it could also be that he's just not all of that good. I do remember when he had good film though :/

I don't see Jenkins in the 1st the Bengals have been cleaning up the locker room.

I personally think Jenkins is the second best corner in the draft. So, unless the Bengals are actively avoiding guys like him, I couldn't see them passing on him.

I'd probably just swap him and Kirkpatrick.

I took Smith at 31 because I feel like there is a huge drop off from Smith to the next best safety after seeing the Combine drills. Plenty of good DE/OLBs (McClellin and Cam Johnson are the two favorites) and WRs still on the board.

Nick Perry (whom I assume you meant by "Perry") went 10th. He's going to skyrocket up boards. He's got burst off the line. Personally, I think he's a 43 DE only.

Floyd over Blackmon is not the popular choice obviously, but really they are close enough (especially with Floyd proving his long speed while questions persist over Blackmon's) that a team easily could just like Floyd more and take him. I would say Barron might be a bit high at 16, but the lack of safety depth in the draft combined with the Jets need could push him up even with the possibility he cannot workout prior to the draft. IMO, great mock.

I seriously cannot express how depressed it would make me to see Richardson drafted at 4.

Wow Floyd over Blackmon.

I prefer Blackmon but I think both will be really good.

I debated over Floyd and Richardson at 4. Both fill major needs and both have very good depth in this draft.

10. Buffalo - Nick Perry, DE, USC

Good pick, despite being a little out of Nix's wheel house, he's close enough. I've been high on Perry for a little while now, and like the pick.

I don't see Blackmon making it past the Rams if they trade back and he's available.

The Steelers are not going OT in the first round. They have Colon locked up long term at RT and are moving their 2nd round pick from last year Gilbert to LT starting this year. They are most likely going ILB/OG/DT in the first round. With Konz, Brockers, Hightower all available, they are more likely to be Pittsburgh's pick than Adams at 1.24.

Michael Floyd > Justin Blackmon.

I thought the Steelers had two good young DTs (Cam Heyward + Ziggy Hood). I wouldn't imagine they would want Brockers to play NT. I can see Hightower to them though.

MLB, OG, and maybe NT if poe is there definitely but i wouldnt rule out Mike adams either....Adams and gilbert would be great at tackle, and they would probably move colon to RG finally.

Evander Hood blows at DE, i think they might shift him into nose which would at least make him marginally effective. Id still like them to take another 5 tech, not neccesarily brokers but maybe crick in round 2. Hightower or Glenn are frontrunners right now though

That's a possibility but it's not like our defense isn't complicated too. I know Ravens fans have said it a ton already but having Hightower in coverage would be a huge weakness. It would probably be a downgrade from McClain who is pretty bad at that himself. Of course if Pees changes the defense a bit then that changes things but I'm expecting it to stay close to the same.

We need a #1 receiver. We have the top two receivers right there. We can get a starting RB even in the third most likely. Plus, the Browns really like Hardesty still. I can't see them going with Richardson, nor should they. WR has been a huge need for years. Need to take care of that ASAP.

So why wouldn't the Jets trade down and draft him later on?

There will be no chance that Floyd goes over Blackmon, Blackmon is the best route runner Ive ever seen in college, and thats the main reason rookie WRs fail. I think that makes him an instant impact guy, which the Rams need.

The right side of your line needs an upgrade, badly. And your center is 34.

Give the Jets one of the OTs before Barron....Barron just is not worth the 16th overall pick.

I don't know if I agree with the last part, but even if I did, Barron and Harrison Smith are going to be over drafted because the draft (at safety) falls off a cliff after that.
